I am total agreeing with it but seeing innocents being kill gives you pain and that pain pinches you to do some thing. Even after we are the humans.

In Kashmir we have a phrase that, "That place of skin exactly knows the taste of heat which is burned by flame"

I am not telling that kill any buddy, during my early school days when i learned about the Massacre caused by Hitler to the Jewish people, i was equally hurt by reading this as i m today to see how the Jews are killing the innocent people in their homelands. The day will come when the Palestinians will be bestowed with victory and joy.

      May Allah bless them

This Man Fareed Zakaria. What a life of a frog he leads? Would you have written the same way if your children were in Gaza NOW? Not once in his Great article has he mentioned Israel's atrocities. Why? Only so he can continue to have the great respect and reputation he commands world over from the narrow minded perpetually Pro western inclines? I like the way he writes but still I urge him to have guts and pull up courage once to say what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. I don't condone what Hamas does. Killing of innocents is wrong either way.

In this hour of grief and sorrow we ought to stand with Palestinian people. Almight Allah will definately give them success and victory. It is well said by HITLER that,

"I KIILED MOST OF JEWIS BUT I LEFT SOME OF THEM TO LET THE WORLD KNOW WHY I KILLED THEM."

I am writing this commit on behalf of Kashmiri people who are some how facing same problem and are every day being brutally killed by occupation force of India. Palestinian people are being killed by force and it is shame on world comminity. When the blast happens in Mumbai Pakistan were being cursed by every leader, but shame on you leaders that your soul is dead and no more.

We the Muslims the peace lover want to tell world that we don't want war nor we do want to kill any buddy in the world, but the acts like of Israel forces our peace lovers to do something which will be heard every where and when we act as the defenders of ourselves we are labeled as terrorists.

How much unfortunate is this and from this you can calculate how much civilized you are. O people of west why you give more importance to the money as against the humanity.

As you sow, So shall you reap. It is universal law

does anyone see that the anguish of the Israelis for their dead loved ones and the anguish of the Palestinians for their dead loved ones ia the same anguish?

didn't Jordan kick the Palestinians out of their country because they caused so much trouble?

It's better to see if you take your hands off your eyes and fingers out of your ears. Hamas is an uncontrollable terrorist organization who lives where they are because every surrounding nation knows it's better if Israel puts up with them. Iran included. When Arafat was alive, he had a hard time keeping Fatah and Hamas in line. What makes anyone think Ahmadinejad can do any better. Just for the record Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is not a Supreme Leader, nor is he a lion of the desert. It's time to stop with the fairy book description of weak little men who to do nothing for their people but enslave them and keep them uneducated in their world of fifth century ways.

can anyone predict what would happen in the Middle East if the United States became energy self sufficient and stopped buying middle East oil?

What Makes Ahmadinejad Smile? The thought of the United States the great satan, handing Iran control of their former hated enemy Iraq without having to fire a shot and at the expense of thousands of American soldiers and billions of its dollars. In fact,he must be the happiest man alive, reveling in the stupidity of all his enemies.(including israel)

    Dear Zakaria,
I respect to you, but, I think the root of the problem of Palestine-Israel conflict is Occupation, Occupation, Occupation! it is very simple, more than 900 people are killed (4000+ wounded) just in 16 days and EVEN the people who are not interested in Hamas can not go out of the war (the crosses are closed) AND you are interested in Iran!!! Can you please impartially write an article about what Israel has done during tha last 60 years against Palestinians (I'm sure that you know many things about). I do not mention them becouse you can not publish this comment. "Nobody can achieve peace by killing civilians (children, women and men)"

You forget to mention that Israel has occupied palestinian land since 1948.75% of Gazans are refugees who were kicked out of their homes in Palestine. You forget to mention that Isral is also in violation of over 60 UN resolutions.Israel also also have committed war crimes and atrocities for the last 40 years.
the world never seem anything like the sloughter of Gaza, supported by Bush and Congress in Israel occupied Washington

you forget to mention that Israel has been occuping arab land since 1948,and have sole about 80% of palestine, and have killed hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. You also forget to mention that Israel is in violation of over 60 UN resolutionsIsrael is a criminal terrorist state that has control of washington.Israel is a threat to world peace and to the US.
have the guts to say that, can you?

You provide quotations that are really good evidence for the claim that Arab or Muslim leaders are happy to spin on a dime and denounce Israel when the Muslim street protests. You fail to recognize that your evidence also strongly supports the claim that the same leaders are fickle to the nth degree. But you want Israel to exercise its soft power with these same leaders. All that would accomplish is to make Israel a pawn of the Muslim street. What the world needs from the Middle East is for leaders to tell the Muslim street to go to hell. Then the Muslim leaders should do the right thing for security in the region. You are really enamored of the Muslim street, aren't you?

Iran is set to win once again in this Israeli war on Hamas. It was Israel's invasion of Lebanon that resulted in foundation of Hezbollah, a foe that smashed Israel's invisibile reputation in 2006 conflict. Now, thanks to Israel, Iran will have a second powerful proxy in Gaza, and maybe even in West bank. Egypt and Jordan may well also fall to Iran very soon... www.hasannasrallah.blogspot.com

Mr. Fareed is wrong when he tried to claim that Hamas has nothing to do with Iran. The fact is that Hamas has being flooded with arms of all types by Iranian regime for a long time. And this horrofic assault, carried out by Israel's worst goverment the globe has ever seen, will prove to be a blow to Iranian regime as some Israeli's thinktanks has been saying since the brutal attack began?
