Palestinians urge US to raise pressure on Israel

This is utterly nonsense because the Palestinians have the right to self-defence. In the US there is a right to own guns for self defence. How can it be otherwise for the Palestinians.

I wish that every one share the point of view that Israel do not spend those hundreds of millions in this recent War on Gaza just because Hamas. The military invasion of the Gaza Strip by Israeli Forces bears a direct relation to the control and ownership of strategic offshore gas reserves. This is a war of conquest. Discovered in 2000, there are extensive gas reserves off the Gaza coastline.

Believe me when I say that Israel did the same thing before, that was after the 1967's War and the occupation of Sinai.
Israel declared in January 18, 2009 that Israel discovered the gas which is already have been discovered on behalfe the Palasinians in 2000!!!

Israel has had the finger on the trigger. Israeli soldiers are the ones that have killed hundreds of children in Gaza They can not run from the responsibility. Its a shame that the world has not been able to react more effectively agaisnt such an aggreesion. It`s a shame especially for the nation that have som influence on the Israeliues.
I`m talkinmg of the nation that has sponsored the Israeli warmachine for decades and whose weapons (air crafts, phosphr bombs etc) have been used to terrorise and traumatize a new generation of Palestinian children.

Afraid of the ongrowing support for the only democratically elected government in the story of arab countries (Hamas 2006), arab leaders give the green light and moral support to israel to bring down the government of Hamas... that's why israel used all those barbaric weapons against unarmed civilians and stroke mosques with no complain from arab countries... and in the end Hamas still step up with more popular support around the world including in USA... just for statistics : Hamas rockets didn't kill any israeli, thay can do nothing but material damage especially against military bases around Gaza...

Talking about the bible. I remember the story of David with his sling, and Goliath with his sword. What happen is David threw a stone with his sling to Goliath, goliath fell. And David won. In Gaza obviously David with his sling does not represent the jews. And Goliath does not represent the Palestinians. We live in a different age. We use different weapons. I for instance will make the Palestinians, David. In gaza 17% of the population are children, and they do throw stones at their occupier, Israel. Israel in return uses more sofisticated weapons, the one that they write over it, go find Hamas. The missile fly all over town, find Hamas and drop hitting the target. Oops, a school yard. Israel response, Hamas was firing from it. Thats Goliath. At the end who you think going to prevail, David with his sling, or Goliath with his sword?

if i were to assault your family and leave a number of your children dead, after which i declare a unilateral ceasefire and expect you to do the same, will you comply? if i follow with another statement that if you avenge your deaths by attacking me and my family i will assault you again, does that make sense to you? in short, i expect you to quietly bury your dead and go on with your lives and promise not to disturb me again - meaning your lives are not worth zilch but the lives of my family are valuable, isn't it? is there another conclusion you would like to offer?

Just to clarify my position here, some of my great-grandparents were Russian Jews, left during the Revolution and the purges of the Pale of Settlement. I consider myself at least partially genetically Jewish and have considered "converting", so to speak - observing the holidays and reading the Torah and whatnot - and you know what keeps me away from it? Things like this.

As far as my budding "Jewishness" is concerned, the Israelis who are responsible for this whole mess are Pharisees, not Jews...the kind of people who would free Barabbas rather than see a prisoner go free, and et cetera. One may note there that I don't *just* study Judaism, though I have read up on Kabbalah and Jewish eschatology and other various forms of Jewish mysticism.

Any of my cousins who may be fuming about the Palestinians and Hamas, learn the history of the region if you want to actually do any good regarding this subject. If you'd rather just be angry and boastful, then you may feel free to stop reading now. Half of you couldn't tell me what an "aliyah" is if someone had you tied to a chair. (Answer: one of the original waves of Israeli settlers to the region from 1890 to 1940 or so.) Who ruled the region back in 1800? (Answer: the Ottoman Empire.) And so on...

If you can't tell me the alternate area where David Ben-Gurion considered reestablishing Israel before deciding in the end to return to the Middle East instead - but you're sure Palestinians are "apes with bombs" or some of the other hate I've seen on here - then as far as I'm concerned, Hamas can blow you up and a good job too. Sorry to be so discompassionate, but the amount of modern Jewish myopia and self-absorbedness makes me infuriated, even if I am enough of a Jew to have been killed in the Holocaust, had I been German and living at that time...
