Below is a sub-set of the list of violations of UN resolutions by Israel. Do you still feel Israel is an innocent victim in all this??
Resolution 106: The Palestine Question (29 Mar 1955) 'condemns' Israel for Gaza raid.
    R 107: The Palestine Question (30 Mar)
    R 108: The Palestine Question (8 Sep)
R 111: " ... 'condemns' Israel for raid on Syria that killed fifty-six people".
    R 127: " ... 'recommends' Israel suspends its 'no-man's zone' in Jerusalem".
R 162: " ... 'urges' Israel to comply with UN decisions".
R 171: " ... determines flagrant violations' by Israel in its attack on Syria".
R 228: " ... 'censures' Israel for its attack on Samu in the West Bank, then under Jordanian control".
R 237: " ... 'urges' Israel to allow return of new 1967 Palestinian refugees".
R 242 (November 22, 1967): Termination of all claims or states of belligerency and respect for and acknowledgement of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of every State in the area. Calls on Israel's neighbors to end the state of belligerency and calls upon Israel to reciprocate by withdraw its forces from land claimed by other parties in 1967 war. Interpreted commonly today as calling for the Land for peace principle as a way to resolve Arab-Israeli conflict

There will never be peace in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict until the participants get tired of killing each other. Let them fight until someone decides that it would be better to live in peace then die for nothing.

In other words we need to let the Palestinians unite and become one government under Hamas, and Fatah.- Ha.

On June 13, 2007 Hamas took control of the north of Gaza strip (north of Gaza City), declaring it a "closed military area" and demanding that everyone, including the Fatah military forces, hand over their weapons by 4 P.M. (GMT) Friday, the 15th. Hamas also launched attacks on the south of Gaza Strip.[16] An explosion wrecked the Khan Younis headquarters of the Fatah-linked Preventive Security force, killing 13 people. By the end of the fourth day of fighting Khan Younis, Rafah and most of Gaza City were under Hamas control. On June 14 Hamas overran the last two Fatah outposts in Gaza City finally taking full control of the city,[17] and establishing a separate government.
Throughout the four days of fighting Hamas had taken control of the main north-south road and the coastal road.[15] The Israeli government closed all check-points on borders of Gaza in response to the violence. During the four days of intense fighting at least 116 people were killed. Hamas took several Fatah leaders up to the 10 floor and tried to make them fly. Many shops close to the tall building put up signs for customers to watch out for falling Fatah bodies.

Israel plans to turn Gaza back over to Fatah, then they can sit back and watch them and Hamas kill each others children.

    * General Assembly Resolution 194, Dec. 11, 1948: Palestinian Refugees have the right to return to their homes in Israel.

"Resolves that the refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbors should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date, and that compensation should be paid for the property of those choosing not to return and for loss of or damage to property which, under principles of international law or in equity, should be made good by the Governments or authorities responsible."

    * Security Council Resolution 242, Nov. 22, 1967: Israel's occupation of Palestine is Illegal.

Calls for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from territories occupied in the war that year and "the acknowledgment of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of every state in the area and their right to live in peace within secure and recognized boundaries free from threats or acts of force."

    * Security Council Resolution 446, March 22, 1979: Israel's settlements in Palestine are Illegal.

"Determines that the policy and practices of Israel in establishing settlements in the Palestinian and other Arab territories occupied since 1967 have no legal validity and constitute a serious obstruction to achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East."

    * General Assembly Resolution 3236, November 22, 1974: Palestinian have the right to Self-Determination.

Affirms "the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people in Palestine...to self-determination without external interference" and "to national independence and sovereignty."

    * Security Council Resolution 1397, March 12, 2002: Reaffirmation of a Palestinian State

Affirms "a vision of a region where two states, Israel and Palestine, live side by side within secure and recognized borders."

For those who need facts, here is a link on what's going on in this conflict. Amazing to see 123 Israeli children have been killed by Palestinians and 1,050 Palestinian children have been killed by Israelis since September 29, 2000. http://www.ifamericansknew.org/
For those who need to answer-back, please bring some facts and figures. Again, to make sure my position is clear: I AM AGIANST ANY KILLING OF INNOCENT CIVILIAN NO MATTER HOW ITS RELIGION, RACE OR SEXE. WHETHER DIRECTLY OR ???COLLATERAL???.

Every one in the world loves watching people killing each other in Star Wars, Rambo, The Lord of the Rings and James Bond. When the United States and Britian invaded Iraq CNN and the BBC had 24 hour coverage with flags waving and reporters gushing about the latest technology for killing our fellow men. Now, all of a sudden, everyone is so, so concerned about civilian deaths in Gaza. In Vietnam there were over 1 million civilian deaths. In Kenya the British killed over 30,000 people and Preident Kennedy never called for a cease fire. In Afganistan they usually don't even bother to report civilian deaths. But when Israel fights we get an hour by hour update. Never mind that the 500 reported deaths in Jenin finally turned out to be only 50. The Palestinians surely won't lie to us again. The point is: Honestly, who really cares about civilian death?: The Americans who dropped atomic bombs? The British who fire bombed Hamburg and Dresden? The Germans who killed over 71/2 million Christians and 6 million Jews in their death camps? The Jordanians who killed 20,000 Palestinians during Black September? The Lebanese who killed 750,000 of their own civilians in a bloody civil war? The Cambodians? The Rowandians? Nobody really cares, but what we all really, really love to do is point the finger at the other guy !

Getitout your a little stupid arent you.
1 There is footage of rockets still being fired from Gaza by Hamas and the leaders even admit to still launching rockets so how can you not beleive they still are??
2 "Hamas is part of the Palestinian government, Israel cannot change it to suit their own needs"
Hello!!! Hamas has fired over 10,000 rockets into Isreal and is calling for their complete destruction! Whos government would accept that as fitting into their "needs" ?

Didnt Isreal leave Gaza in 2005? The only reason Isreal occupied GAza was because of the 6th day war which they didnt even start ? Get With It ! Nobody likes seeing children killed and the images are terrible but this is Hamas fault they knew it would happen and actually wanted it to happen as to turn Public opinion agaisnt Isreal, they gladly sacrafice their own ctizens where Isreal protects their.

The Israeli people should reject this government and budding leaders who are using the War in Gaza as a vote winning exercise just before the February elections. Otherwise the common Israeli will pay heavily with life , property and peace somewhere in the world in the lines of Black September Munich Olympics Attack , 26/11 Nariman House Chabad Centre Attack, Argentina Synagogue Attack. Even others who are goading the Israelis to go for the kill will pay heavily with life, property and peace somewhere in the world in the lines of 9/11 World Trade Centre Attack , Pentagon Attack , Robert (Bobby)Kennedy Attack.

Israel is taking its time and consoladating its gains with the reserves so its regulars can slowly advance with a secure supply line. This indicates they are planning for the long term possibility of a reoccupation of gaza if it is deemed necessary. It also shows they have learned the lessons of the 2006 Lebanon war which was conducted to punish and degrade hezballah but failed to mount any significant groud incursion and occupation to pressure Hezballah into capitulating. They have also managed to cut off much of the weapons flowing in via egypt, something they were unable to do in lebanon where arms were entering from Syria before, during and after the war.Gaza is not lebanon no matter what hamas says or believes. The real winners in this war will be the global islamic radical movement and their backers. The losers as always will be the palestinian civilians. With friends like Hezballah, hamas, iran and syria the palestinians really do not need enemies.

Come on now does it take that many reserve to enter Gaza. That place isn't but 2 miles wide and I guess few miles longer in lenght. If the IDF hold hands they can reach both ends. Israel try to make Hamas a hell of a powerfull contender. And I can't believe that Hamas is stil launching rockets. Either again Israel underestimated Hamas power, as she underestimated Hezbolah fire power, or someone else is launching those rockets. A place where you can run the marathon from one end to the other end it sure take a long time for Israel to achieve their goals. And what are their goals anyhow?. They probably don't even know. But I can tell you that Hamas will still be around after they leave. Hamas is part of the Palestinian government, Israel cannot change it to suit their own needs. In reality Hamas is mainly disagreeing with Fatah. Israel needs to butt out, and leave both of them the chance to reconcile. But, no Israel will not do that, it doesn't serve Israel's goal in the area which is to seperate both faction, and create that tension. If diplomats wants to do anything worth doing is to let Hamas and Fatah reconcile their differences, to unite, to come out with a new approach. And for Israel to stay out of it. When that is done and the Palestinians reconcile their differences, than they can be talking to the Israelis. I don't think Israel going to allow that to happen, it wont serve its purposes. Which is to distabilize the Palestinian government. In other words we need to let the Palestinians unite and become one government under Hamas, and Fatah. The West Bank, and Gaza. That probably will happen only if Israel give up the lands that seperate Gaza from the West Bank, I guess Israel forseen that years ago. And welcome Hamas as an obstacle to serve its purpose. A well set up, and a creation from Israel.
