and I hope that come combination of forces (US, Israel, UK, India), succeed in destroying Pakistan's nuclear weapons.
Pakistan's nukes are the shield from behind which it is able to foster islamic terrorism against everyone.
But thats OK, because its paying a heavy price for that. Pakistan's focus on nukes and islamist terrorists as part of its regional religious and territorial obsessions has left Pakistan a dysfunctional state on the brink of disaster. Pakistan has nukes, a big army, legions of islamist terrorists, but it does not have any of the institutions that it needs to ensure prosperity and stability in the near and far term future. Even compared to India, its education is third rate, it has nothing to export to the world in any large quantity except grain and textiles, It has no world class companies, little indigenous services or manufacturing capability that can earn foreign exchange, its government is bordering on non-existent, it keeps alternating between corrupt civilian rule and military dictatorships, and all this while, both its civilian and military governments are reluctant to act against the rapidly spreading islamist groups and will soon be unable to control them at all. In fact, government authority in Pakistan (both civil and military) may already be unable to act against the likes of LeT, even if they wanted to.
This state of utter dysfunction is what pakistan has earned with its stoken nuclear technology and its legions of islamist fanatics and terrorists.
and it has no results to show for this sacrifice. Kashmir remains ever more firmly in Indian hands.
pakistan is in deep deep trouble. As it falls further and further behind India, it will rely more and more on nukes and terrorists to try for parity, until it will dissolve into afghanistan like conditions. and they will have no one to blame for it but themselves.
