    This goes to the core issue of integrity and accountability -- not to mention foresight. This was not an accidental slip-up, and Geithner is not being vetted to be treasurer of the local PTA. It's also a damn shame, because he is so well regarded and qualified for the role on paper, but this raises legitimate questions about his fitness for the highest CFO job in the world.

    Mr Geithner has paid all the back due taxes so, it's on with the approval for Secretary of the Treasury.

    Absolutely yes ??? it was intentional and he only paid up when caught! This is not going to bring us the change we were promised?????????

    Timothy Geithner has already paid in full all the Taxes that were due Case Closed.

    I think it's disgraceful! This is change? Appointing a person to head up the IRS and they themselves have not paid their taxes??? If it was one of us (regular people) we would have not only been forced to pay fees right away but the IRS would have also gone after our bank accounts , refunds and probably sent us to one of those savage collectors that call not only us but our family, friends and work! How unfair.

    yes. if you can't be responsible to pay your taxes, how can we expect you to be able to run the Treasury?
