Interesting article, this understanding of the American electoral DNA is something the DNC has studied very closely over the past 8 years. It is something the Obama campaign not only studied but mastered in order to grow and unite the Democratic party in 2008. Which party most resembles the American Melting Pot of the future? If you said the GOP, guess again. God Bless America

    Howard IS BRILLIANT:

You have recognized a fundamental problem with modern culture; the loss of true kinship relationships and natural tribal coherences. It is a commentary on the problems of our civilized societies, after the emergence of cities and urban life. And, increasingly, as our American culture continues to overvalue specialization, indiviualism, independence and competition, so much more will natural kinship and tribal relations be forced out of existence or underground. The only remaining option will be both real and virtual voluntary tribes, in an attempt to reconstitute some sense of belonging in an increasingly devisive and anonymous world of urban strangers. Excellent observations Howard!!
