    Faith Beyond His Father???s

Re: Doug Paul???s parents can???t understand how their son could vote for a pro-choice presidential candidate.

Abortion exists because our society wants a quick fix to a perceived problem (pregnancy). We are irresponsible Christians (as I was when I voted for George W. Bush) when we vote for a candidate based on this single issue, which has no relevance to a candidate's ability to lead our country.

    Dear Mr. Meacham,

In this weeks piece you wrote some stuff that just doesn't make any sense to me...

What do mean by "whites"? what do mean by hispanics? Can you define white? Can you define hispanic? what's the difference? Australia, Canada, what do you mean? What's the difference between people who originated in England "Anglos" or Spain or Portugal "Hispanics" in your account, since ALL three countries are situated in Europe or even if one is born in the Americas from European background, how do you define a difference between them, is US born a pre-requisite for the term "white"?

    Thank you.

I just read an article about Newsweek's loss of income over this past year due to poor sales. To Jon Meacham the editor II'd like to say that I WAS one of your loyal subscribers and readers for years until you consciously decided to take the magazine far to the left. Whether you thought that would benefit your publication or not, I think you are now finding out the hard way that although there has been a HUGE popular sentiment for President Obama during this election, that doesn't discount those of us that have hovered in the middle for decades and do not appreciate biased, one sided "news" coverage. I miss the days when your magazine was far more impartial and fair. You WERE an admirable publication. Now I just wait for your obituary in the newspaper sometime over the next year, and I am one of thiose individuals that will not be surprised nor disappointed when it happens.

Forget about anything else. Am I to believe my eyes that Irish born citizens are having a concert on the Lincoln Memorial! When are we going to wake up! We have elected a president. Not some great world savior. Not someone larger than life. We elected the president of The United States of America. This man is different from no other man! This man is different no other man! Get it! Stop partying on our countries memorials and help us cope with this countries problems! You were elected for that! Know your place President Obama

I wish that every one share the point of view that Israel do not spend those hundreds of millions in this recent War on Gaza just because Hamas. The military invasion of the Gaza Strip by Israeli Forces bears a direct relation to the control and ownership of strategic offshore gas reserves. This is a war of conquest. Discovered in 2000, there are extensive gas reserves off the Gaza coastline.

Believe me when I say that Israel did the same thing before, that was after the 1967's War and the occupation of Sinai.
Israel declared in January 18, 2009 that Israel discovered the gas which is already have been discovered on behalfe the Palasinians in 2000!!!
Children of Israel, be sure that there are thives want to give you something that is not belong to you. Those bad people want you to be bad like them. Please, donot be BAD like those THIVES!

I rarely read any of the garbage that Christopher Hitchens writes, but when it appears in Newsweek I usually give it glance. I am always amused at the twisted spin with which he views the world, politics, history and everything else. He seems to be looking for the athiest in all of us, including Lincoln, of all people. Now I'm sure he is a clever and brilliant man who can hold anyone's attention, both in person, on the tube, or in print. However, if not for his profession of athiesm, he would probably be just another whack job blogging away on some obscure website and churning out his paperbacks for his loyal following. Fortunately he lives in an age where he has the right to declare that 6 billion other members of humanity are apparently wrong in deducing that a higher intelligence than Hitchens exists. I don't understand why he doesn't change his name. What is equally amusing is that your publication, among others, seems to give this guy any journalistic credibility.
