    "THE 125K PLAN" The people running this country no nothing about ???stimulating??? the economy! The only thing they want to stimulate is their own pockets! Look ??? it???s simple???. We are the economy, you and I. We are consumers and buyers and dreamers??? you and me.. We are the tires of the vehicle and without tires, the vehicle is worthless! If these idiots are going to round up a lot of cash, then let us have it. We are the ones that need it.. all of us. Here is the deal, every person holding a social security card number that has been registered for 18 years or more should get a check.. that???s right! Obama??? write us all a check for $125k and let us buy a new car, pay off some back taxes perhaps, pay off credit card bills, pay off student loans, pay off or buy a house maybe.. Let us decide, give us the cash! Now you have a stimulated economy and folks, you can???t deny this would not have a serious affect in getting things back to normal around here. Our government does not need to by 600 million in new cars and stupid crap like that??? drive it till the wheels fall off like the rest of us??? this plan should be called the 125k plan??? this will stimulate Ford, GM, and lots of car manufactures, the housing market and even the IRS can benefit tremendously???it is amazing how this will change so many lives and resolve so many issue.

      I agree, howewver if those over the age of 25 and are American citzens and earning less then $250,000.00were to get $500,000.00 and pay a25% tax with the stipulatiod that they would have to pay at least 50% of there mortage off,and pay down on the credit cards, can you emingine what that would do for the Whole Country.
      We would be paying a lot of it back in taxes but that would solve the Mortage problem and really stimulate the whole world at the same time.. NO MORE PROBLEM So easy and a lot less costly

    corner stone: You're a genius! That makes perfect sense to me because 18 years ago there weren't as many "imports" in our country as there are today. Actually, in addition to what you said, Obama should:
    1)deport everyone who has come into this country since then.
    2) get rid of the greedy s.o.b.'s on Wall St and replace them with successfull executives from small town banks who were not involved in the schemes that caused the banking industry problems in the first place.
    By the way, why aren't the Wall Street thieves in the slammer??? They committed a nation wide crime, right?

    Im wondering why the local officials in KY are not doing more to assist with the Ice-storm situation. Looks like they were not capable of better planning for disaster preparedness.

      That depends on your definition of disaster preparedness and the region that is affected. KY has areas with pockets of populations that are large and very small. Jefferson and Fayette Counties are taking care of the situations through the emergency services and people are in shelters. Other rural areas are being taken care of by local emergency crews and National Guard. Other states are in the dark as well. This disaster is being handled much better than others. And that was just a week ago.

    I live in KY and see no problems short of a few thousand without power and shelters taking them in. I lost power for a few days but toughed it out with blankets and common sense. Big difference between KY and New Orleans. Don't try to compare Truth. Besides KY has had their fair share of coverage in local and National news. There are other states that are affected as well. The only reason you are venting is because the Republican leaders of KY are whining to media to put the word out that Obama needs to act to offset Bush's lack of care during Katrina. Get real my sister, no comparison. McConnell and Bunning are out the door come next election. The grassroots are still in full affect. Besides Beshear is the Governor and has the Nat'l Guard in full effect. Get a grip sister girl.

    Never mind this for a moment. Its been days since KY was crippled by the ice storm, and unlike Hurricanes, another shot of aortic air is on the way. WHERE IS THE MEDIA COVERAGE ON THE INADEQUACY OF THE RESPONSE OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO HELP THESE FOLKS IN THE COLD???? WHERE IS THE COVERAGE ABOUT WHY POWER HAS NOT BEEN RESTORED????? When it was Bagdad or New Orleans, the media were losing their minds. Where are they now???

    I have read some of these comments and I am amazed that most Americans believe the lies of President Obama. I am embarrassed and angry that he denounces his real ethnicity. As a fellow Arab-American, I personally know that he is legally an Arab-American, and in fact not an African-American. I found an article by Kenneth Lamb that is accurate and states the facts. I have condensed it to get to the point. It says:

    I researched what follows for a NY daily of international reputation. It wasn't what I thought I'd find. I must pause very briefly to note usage of the word Negro in what follows: In all academic studies of race, the proper scientific word for the ethnic composition I discuss is Negro. For any who scream racist at its mention, I say take it up with the scientific community. It's not my word, it's theirs. I am using it in its proper scientific context. Why is the fact that Mr. Obama is only 6.25% African Negro not reported? Because to acknowledge it is to report this devastating truth about him: Mr. Obama is not legally African-American. It is impossible for him to be, in truth, America's first African-American president. Federal law requires that to claim a minority status, you must be at least 1/8 of the descriptor, but for the sake of this article, I've converted it to a decimal fraction for easier comprehension. You must be at least 12.5% of the racial component you claim for minority status. Mr. Obama, claiming to be African-American, is half the legal threshold. Yet claiming to be African-American is the soul and substance of his claim to fame. It is what he has used throughout his adult life to distinguish himself from other competitors. It is the ethnic identity he proclaims, and it is the ethnic identity he craves. Without it, he is just another mixed race Caucasian Arab with an African influence playing on his skin???s pigmentation. But no matter what he craves, no matter what he has used to propel himself through life, no matter the racist presumption of seeing his skin and without question calling him black, the hard, cold, genetically inarguable reality remains: he is not an African-American. Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian, that from his mother. What those who want Mr. Obama to write history by becoming "America's first African-American president" ignore is that his father was ethnically Arabic, with only 1 relative ethnically African Negro - a maternal great-grandparent (Sen. Obama's great-great grandparent, thus the 6.25% ethnic contribution to the senator's ethnic composition.). That means that Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side. He is 43.75% Arabic, and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side. As you can see for yourself, Sen. Obama's African-American ethnic claim, when properly researched and documented, is a lie.

        Dosama, thank you for the Latin lesson. As soon as I study Latin, it will be the fourth language I am fluent in. I only strive to be as educated as you, and with that education you should have learned what it meant to reference someone???s writing. This was Mr. Lamb???s words and research, not mine. I really don???t think that a person must pass for anything to get ahead. ???Getting ahead??? is achieved by hard work, dedication, and perseverance. If one does this, it wouldn???t matter what your skin color is. Maybe you???ll understand that one day.

    Reading this blog is more comical than watching Comedy Central. Keep it up. I am enjoying the laughs. This is very funny. Did anyone here about the plan to replace the grass at the mall of the White House with some of our money from the $850 billion bailout? That is what the White House needs is new grass. What it needs is truth, honesty, and most of all...the help of God! In God we trust!!!!!!

    First of all when you say 'I not a racist" you are!!! And nice little touch there with Obama's father being Black/Arab....He is AFRICAN!!! I know people like you, Your life probably didn't turn out the way wanted to, you still live with your Mom and you don't even have a girlfriend or even a pet, so you have to put people down to make yourself feel better.       You???re right kelsall. My life didn???t turn out the way I wanted it to. It turned out better with a College degree in Electrical Engineering, a wife of 10 years and a little girl, and a very nice house with some land and nice cars. Oh yeah, and I worked hard and paid for it all myself, and I didn???t look for handouts from those who work hard. I wished I still lived with my mother as that would mean that she is still alive, but she passed away one year ago from cancer. But until my mom, dad, and I meet again in heaven, I???ll keep pressing forward dealing with people like you. I thought this was about thoughts on Obama and him being Arabic???not about someone???s deceased mother???so let???s keep it that way. I???ll still be praying for you. God bless.

    Hopeful Girl, Learn to spell before bashing Lucky Girl and questioning her intelligence and literacy. Lucky Girl, be sure you do know the scriptures before misrepresenting them. Everyone, understand that God is Sovereign. No one will rise to leadership without HIs allowing it - not necessarily blessing it but allowing it. Throughout history God has used even the wicked to carry forth his plan. There were many, many wicked and evil kings and rulers even during Biblical times, and we know there have been many since. Christians find encouragement in Romans which reminds us that He works all things together for good for those who love HIm and are called according to His purpose. I am clinging to this because I did not vote for Obama for many reasons one being the fact that he is a proponent of abortion. One of his first acts this week - overturning the ban - has proven scary but, again, we do not trust in man rather in our Soverign God. Our job is not to judge Obama but to pray for him and all leaders and for this world - a world truly in trouble.

      Without meaning offense, Rollins, there is no evidence there is a God or that a deity, if there is one, is the one you worship. We can spend years babbling "God is Love," "God is Sovereign," "Jesus is Lord," and all we're really doing is ascribing magical powers to a concept we have in our minds. I'm an agnostic, but I don't try to tell anyone else how to believe or how to answer the question of why there is something instead of nothing. Yet I would like you to at least confront the fact that what you're describing is only your belief, and not, as you seem to think, some absolute cosmic truths that no one can deny. If there is a God, it may be only the impersonal life-force of the universe, and those who talk the most about God may not be silent enough or open-minded enough to step out of the programming they were subjected to at some point in their lives. At any rate, if there is a God, I doubt that any of the dogmatic theists know anything about it. A little humility, please, and the acknowledgement that no one on this planet can know the mind or character of a supreme being. The Bible was written long ago by anonymous authors, and all biblical scholars acknowledge this, so merely quoting words in a book that was written by men and put into a collection by men is not going to prove anything. Only people write books, and only people read them.

Give Rollins a break, as they are just doing what they are commanded to do according to Mark 16:15???Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to everyone. Rollins or any other Christian is not pushing anything down your throat, but sharing with you what Jesus Christ did for you. He was crucified on a cross, buried in a tomb, and was raised on the third day, and is alive and well today. Before that though, Jesus lived for about 30 years just like you and I???on this earth???walking and talking like you and I. Christians aren???t perfect, just forgiven. After life here on earth, would you rather be in what you believe as nothing or in Heaven? I know where I would rather be. The Bible was written long ago, but by known authors. Do you think it is a fictional book you can check out from the local library? Come on! I am not sure what biblical scholars you know, but if they are telling you that, then they are not much of a scholar but are pulling the wool over your eyes. The book of Matthew was written by Matthew, the book of Mark by John Mark, the book of Acts by a man named Luke, and the book of Revelation by a man named John. Revelation is a good book to read, especially during the times we are in now. I would suggest you read it in your spare time, unless you spend all of your time criticizing others for what they believe. I too didn't vote for Barack Obama for many reasons, the very first one being that he is the most radical elected official to ever become the President of the Unitied States. He is for death through abortion and embryonic stem cell research against Jesus being for life. He is a (spiritually) blind learder leading the blind (spiritually blind America), and as Jesus himself said, "won't they all fall into the ditch?" He has socialistic, communistic views and ideals, and already in just two days, he has made good on one of his promises to make abortion accessible to all for "any reason." We now have the continuation of the "death cycle" released in America. For this, certain judgment will come to America. A nation that legalizes the killing of innocent lives in the name of "a woman's right to choose" will suffer grave consequences for its decision. The God of this nation who is Jesus Christ the Lord, will not stand for this anymore. A vote for Barack Obama and his radical, socialistic ideas, was a vote for judgment. We must pray that God have mercy on President Obama, his wife, his cabinet/administration, Congress, the Senate, and this nation as a whole. The United States of America must repent of its sins against God and turn back to Him if we are going to continue to exist. That is the only way judgment can be stopped, by repenting. I hate to be a prophet of doom but the bible is very clear indeed about where God stands on ALL moral issues that we have so callously reduced in this country to political/social issues. God loves and wants to bless America, but only if America will repent of her sins and return to her God, the true God, Jesus Christ. I will not pray for the success of President Obama because his version of success is contrary to what God calls "success", but I will pray for the perfect will of God to be done in his life, for his life, and through his life. For remember, every decision President Obama makes will affect this nation (all peoples) and the world, for our good or to our own detriment. The bible says, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord...." May the living God turn the heart of the king (President Obama) as the king's heart rests in His (God's) hands.

      You do realize that slavery ended a long time ago don't you?? I have never agreed with slavery and what all those humans WENT through a LONG TIME AGO, and I have never owned a slave either. You are right when you say someone will never understand what someone who WAS a slave went through. There are still those idiots who are prejudice and racist that will hire someone for a job because they are a certain color, but a lot of times people are hired because they are more qualified or fit the description of what the employer is looking for, and not just because they like their color better than the other applicant. Every person has the same opportunities to succeed in this country no matter your color. Anyone who thinks they can't do something, never will. I grew up poor and my family had nothing but each other and a rented roof over our head. I lost my Dad when I was 20 and it was just me and my Mom left at home. Mom couldn???t pay for my college, so I took that on myself. I didn't have a college fund or scholarship like some, but I worked hard and paid for my college myself. I graduated college not only with White people, but Black, Mexican, Japanese and others. I have a good job, a house and some land, a great family and I am blessed. Nothing was given to me because I am white. I got everything the right way???through HARD WORK AND DETERMINATION. Proverbs 14:23 says that ???Those who work hard will make a profit, but those who only talk will be poor.??? And no I didn???t say you or any other African-American is poor. I was simply referencing a verse in the Bible. A quote that helped me was that ???You???re not stuck where you are unless YOU decide to be.??? I pray that you will find peace in your heart and stop the blame game. God loves you???and so do I. God bless you.

    I find it interesting reading people's comment and already knowing what they're going to say. I find it interesting how divided this world is and how unfree we truly are. I find it interesting how people could base their views of a president on their skin tone and who's the better choice who's up for election rather than voting someone who would make a difference for everyone and not just the majority. The Republicans didn't put Ron Paul up for election. Instead they put a weak candidate, John McCain, who believes in wasting TONS of government money to get things done, AKA, ANOTHER BUSH. If Ron Paul was put up for the Republican Candidate, I truly believe the Republicans would have won.

      Are you aware of Obama's $850 billion bailout plan? Do you know that in that bailout plan, Obama has included putting new grass at the mall of the White House?     For the sake of our country, our children and ourselves I hope Obama lives up to the expectations. I'm concerned one of his first tasks is to close down a terrorist prison without a clear plan and perhaps make it possible for those held to be freed or escape easier to again kill US soldiers . It took the military years to find and capture those people that threaten us, not to mention risking their lives to do so and Obama sets a close down date without a clear, spelled out plan. I think more pressing problems should be solved first!, instead of creating a whole new set of problems by closing GB Prison.

    I promise that this man will fail. Its not because of who is is, black or white, no matter. Just because he has great intentions and has eaten a bag of hope does not guarantee his success, every man before him has failed, and everyone after shall as well.       What Americans should know is a very important thing : this man has not only been elected as President for one country, but for an office that reaches far beyond. I am a Moroccan and I have lived in the stetes for a while. I have always been interested in politics and contemporary history. In my opinion, this man represents hope and a better world for the whole world, because more and more countries, o matter where they are, are depending on each other, especially on historic and emerging superpowers. The world can evelove only if the leader countries are able to evolve and spread economic prosperity, social achievements, knowledge, and the means to seek freedom. So, as an outside observer, I think that President Obama reallly has the ability to see and go to the essentials and I am more than cerrtain that he has the will and energy and people to help him. That is the reason why I wish him all the success to pusue his views and policies.

    I will pray for him: Our President Obama, and his beautiful family every day. I have 5 sons in the Army and I Retired after 26 in the Air Force. I was very happy to hear he'll try to bring our troops home in the next 15 months and that he'll support Israel. I'M 57 in March and still can't figure why a man who could make millions get's into a position of being president?
    However. let's pray for our commander in chief that he has wisdom and "balls" to bring the country back on it's feet. because of our new president I noticed a lot more people holding their head's up higher, we as a Nation are again Americans
