Not funny, Fat Joey. Not in the slightest. How would you feel if it was YOUR relatives and children who were being killed in cold blood. Someone REALLY needs to slap you silly, and make you wake up instead of being a troll, on the internet and, most likely, in real life.

Israel cannot be trusted on these issues of civilian deaths. Neither can Hamas, for that matter, but I think that UNRWA can be trusted because they have absolutely NOTHING to gain from lying on this issue. Fact is, Israel is out for the genocide of the Palestian people. I don't say that lightly.... but everyone who I have talked with online and offline has gotten that impression.

HAMAS WANTS THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE TO KNOW THEY'RE RIGHT "BEHIND" THEM! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH BAAAAA BAAAA BAAA

WHAT WOULD MUSLIMS DO WITH PEACE ANYWAY? NONE OF THEM WORK? THEY HATE JEWS OUT OF BOREDOM!

people like FATJOEY who said that the Palestinians deserved their fate because they elected Hamas should remember the next time they are made to suffer due to the policies of their government. along that vein, is it essential that all Americans be made to suffer wherever they are because of the policies of the Bush government, e.g., torture of unarmed prisoners, etc.? as for snakeandnape, would you strike against somebody that blockade your house and prevented you from having electricity, water, sanitation, food and even life-saving medicines for your children for many years just because your relatives pissed them off?

    Hey Americana,

Since you are a woman whose wisdom was attained by watching soap operas, naturally, you should go to Gaza and tell them what they must do to achieve peace!

The Palestian people ought to beg the IDF to come occupy Gaza until every last Hamas combatant has been arrested, killed or ran out of Gaza & Palestine. The normal Palestinian people have lived side by side next door to & were friends of the israeli people until Hamas came along. Israel would come to their aid in a heart beat if the Palestians would just rise up & de-nounch Hamas & Hezzbollah as Terriorist Organizations for what they are. The Palestian Leadership is too weak kneed to stand up to Hamas. They should ask for help from Israel to re-arm the Feta party's military police & colaborate in destroying or defeating Hamas. Israel should not negotiate with Hamas, doing so gives them creditability that they are recognized as the ruling party in Gaza.
Yes Israel probably has used excessive force to some extent. However, when your in a fight for your life with a known cowardly opponent who will use any trick in the book (such as their own mothers, sisters) as a shield then how much is force is excessive? How much turning of the other cheek does Israel have to show? How many rockets, for how many years, how many suicide bombers or does everybody forget about these?
It is time for Palestine & its people to decide where there hearts are. Do they want a lasting peace, share the wealth of the holy lands & enjoy what prosperty could be had in living side by side with their Israeli neighbors or do they always want to be setting on the fence in between while Israel defends itself from Hamas & Hizbollah?
Seems like a easy & obvious choice but do they have the guts and/or the wisdom to choose whats right & just?

Khaled Meshal in Damascus, the Iranians and Hizbollah have made clear they are willing to fight right down to the last Palestinian.

If there were to be war trials, it is very clear as to who ought to be sitting in the prisoners dock.

whatever there needs to be trials for war crimes independently and israel should be forced to apply or be boycotted by the global community incl usa
as there have been atrocities committed that make auschwitz look like a nursery for criminals

and right under the nose of mr bush and his cronies as a farewell gift to the world they damned for 7 years

Hmm... Hamas believes as an ideology that they should NEVER negotiate. They believe all of those that seek peace are traitors. They kill, torture, endanger, and maim their fellow Palestinians. They egg on the Israelis with little or no effect on them, even their civilians. They fire at Israelis from civiian sites without military markings which is against the Geneva convention (as is torture anyway) Who could possibly be at fault? The guys trying to stop the rockets or the guys that want to fire them in perpetuity while they kill their fellow compatriots? Gosh who could be at fault

Well said, reseachok. I think it won't be much longer before the people of Palestine grow tired of Hamas's willingness to sacrfice them in their war against Israel. Once that happens, hopefully the Palestinians that replace Hamas will be willing to sit down and talk like a civilized nation.

  • Posted By: Brokinarrow @ 01/21/2009 9:44:33 AM

The Palestinian people made a mistake allowing Hamas to represent them. After this, they are seeing just what a mistake that was. Hamas doesn't give a damn if its own people get killed, in fact that was their goal here. They allow the people they 'serve' to die in an effort to deface Israel. Its only a matter of time before the Palestinians overthrow Hamas and do away with them. Perhaps that new group will be will to talk to Israel with some civility to get what they want then.

Hamas, like the Nazis, came to power by way of manipulating free elections. The Palestinians knew exactly who they were voting for- unlike the Nazis, they could not be bothered to hide their racist, bigoted and genocidal intent.

Had the western Allies bombed Berlin before September 1, 1939, up to 50 million lives would have been spared.

All conflicts end when the cost of war becomes to great to bear- and it's been like that from the beginning of time. Negotiations work when both sides want a negotiated settlement. Hamas makes clear their intent- the slaughter of Jews.

When it is all said and done, there is no such thing as a disproportionate response to calls for genocide. The Palestinians are in a position to determine for themselves the kind of life they will have. The can choose peace or they can choose violence.

For decades the EU, UN, Quartet, etc., have all made clear that peace in the Middle East is predicated on 3 things. 1. Cessation of terror. 2. Diplomatic recognition of Israel. 3. Secure and defensible borders. Which of those things are too onerous a burden for the Palestinians?

I live in Europe where stories abound of how many fleeing Jews were saved by ordinary people during the blitzkrieg. Can the writer of this article give me any indication of how any good Samaritan might have come to the rescue of even a single Palestinian in a Gaza blockaded and closed off to even the Untied Nations?

I cannot understand the venom of hatred being spewed out by some criminal-minded individuals which is to the effect that: 'the Palestinian civilians are justified to die because Hamas represents them'. Nothing can be more callous from those who have no milk of human kindness flowing in their veins. The real question is whether any innocent deserves to endure unnecessary sufferings because a so-called democratic state has gone rogue?

DO YOU CONSIDER THE GERMAN PEOPLE WHO SUPPORTED HITLER IN WWII INNOCENT? I DON'T? THEY CHOSE THEIR LEADERS!I FEEL THE SAME WAY WITH THE PAL PEOPLE,THEY CHOSE A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION TO REPRESENT THEM,THEREFORE I FEEL NO SYMPATHY AT ALL FOR THEM,THEY MADE THEIR BEDS..........

Hamas cares about power. They don't care who gets killed. The Palestinians can't even get along with one another according to this article. Hamas is no better than street gang, instead of selling drugs they sell propaganda. What no one seems to get is Hamas started the war. If the Israelis are too tough, look at their history, they have every right to be.

Who pulled the trigger? The rest is blah-blah...

Israel fears Peace not home made rockets. Israel could have made the ceasefire work if they had wanted, but that was not their prioriiy (it wasn't even on the horizon, let alone a priority).

Israel's first priority was to fend off Peace. Their second priority was to regain their military reputation. Their military reputation was severly tarnished after they failed in the Lebanon invasion of 2006. Their goal was to Terrorize the region and renew the regions fear of the Israeli military.

Also, let us not forget that Israel is in it's political season, they are choosing a new leader. The first qualification for leadership in Israel is the willingness to kill civilians.

The Zionazis are responsible. The whole word knows the IDF purposely targeted civilians. Only in the US with its all pro Israel media was this not reported.
