Israel deserves all the hate it has managed to garner by the massacre of innocent Palestinians with no way of protecting themselves from the world's biggest bully. If ever there was a country that needed to be disarmed of all weapons, especially the nuclear ones, it is Israel! This is the 21st century and the world cannot tolerate such barbaric behavior from any country. Let them go some place where there are no people for them to harm......how about the moon!

As the Wall Street Journal wrote on May 6th,
"For reasons both telling and mysterious, Israel has become unpopular among that segment of public opinion that calls itself progressive. This is the same progressive segment that believes in women's rights, gay rights, the rights to a fair trial and to appeal, freedom of speech and conscience, judicial checks on parliamentary authority. These are rights that exist in Israel and nowhere else in the Middle East. So why is it that the country that is most sympathetic to progressive values gets the least of progressive sympathies?"

it is therefore very strange that, because of their rabid anti Israel views, these progressives have turned into apologists for Islamic fundamentalists (such as hamas and hezbollah) who loath and despise every progressive belief that these folks hold dear.

if peace were ever to exist, palestine or even worse the "one state solution" (which would result in the demographic destruction of the state of israel) would be just another arab cesspool, where women are despised and oppressed, other religions disrespected (and forbidden) and gay people murdered.

in Israel gay marriage is already recognized and NOW,
Overseas adoptions by gay couples get OK from Israel
    United Press International (4/25)

To support the Palestinian Cause is to be anti women, anti gay and anti democracy.

Finally, To focus so much attention on the Palestinians at the expense of the genocide in Darfur (Muslim killing Muslim), the Muslim on Muslim violence in Iraq, the executions of Muslim gay teens in Iran, the violence towards women in Iran--(just for showing their hair), the sentences of stoning or beatings for rape victims in both Nigeria and Saudi Arabia (where woman are also forbidden to drive), The burning to death of young girls in a school in Saudi Arabia, as the religious police would not allow male fireman to save them, because the girls were not wearing their burkahs, the epidemic of honor killings by brothers and fathers of young girls in both Britain, Canada and Turkey is not only morally reprehensible but indefensible.

Sorry to say that, but 9/11 is not over yet.
All of us would like to get a better news, but, unfortunately, we should deal with the reality.

We all should face the fact - fanatic islamists centered around Iran are building WORLD-WIDE CALIPHATE.
This is a huge project and 9/11 is just a small part of it.

    Look around:
11 March 2004 Madrid Spain train bombings consisted of a series of coordinated train bombings,
killing 191 people and wounding 1,800. The official investigation by the Spanish Judiciary determined the attacks were directed by a muslim al-Qaeda-inspired terrorist cell.
The bombings occurred three days before general elections which resulted in the defeat of the incumbent Jose Maria Aznar's Partido Popular (PP) party
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/11_March_2004_Madrid_train_bombings - SPAIN RIGHT GOVERNMENT WAS EXCHANGED BY LEFT GOVERNMENT IN A SINGLE BLAST!
Islamists government took over in Turkey. Millions of muslims invaded Europe penetrating all democratic institutions which is the part of the plan. Many more facts could be mentioned, BUT:

Week ago Iran launched a missile and succeeded to get to the orbit. Thousands of Iranian centrifuges are spinning 24x7 enriching uranium - Iranian ambitions aimed to the nuke.
Iran circles Israel with Hamas and Hesbollah which in fact are Iranian divisions trained, armed and fully directed by Iran.

Would you feel safe with Iranian nukes with global ballistic capabilities? Fanatical Islam loves death, especially death of Crusaders and, of course, Jews. So, we - you and us - should make choices and time is limited.

Political correctness hides the inconvenient truth, leftists prefer to be fooled by islamists who know well that the greatest lies said million of times will be taken as a truth.

Europe, never Israel's close ally, erupted in near unanimous outrage over Gaza, with fits of anti-Semitic violence in France, Sweden and Belgium. Really??? Isn't it time we realize that the protests "across europe" are by muslim hamas supporters and not "regular" europeans? Read into the reaction of the european leads and see no condemnation. they understand that a country HAS to protect its citizens. however bad it is for the other side.

    • Posted By: froy1100 @ 01/28/2009 9:28:17 AM

Don't be mistaken, Europeans in general are disgusted by Israel's criminal and colonialist ways. There have been protests filled with European politicians, artists and common people showing their disapproval and outrage.

What's wrong with the world is they show no outrage at a bunch of vicious terrorists that kill and terrorize their own people.

        • Posted By: froy1100 @ 02/01/2009 1:42:06 AM

Those "terrorists" were supported by the vast majority of their people. Fatah set up a ruthless and corrupt police state with the support of Israel. Many Palestinians wanted payback, and they got their chance. That's their internal affair.

It was Israel massacring civilians from American fighter planes what was perceived in Europe's streets as a real terrorist act. Unfortunately, European leaders only show concern about Human Rights superficially, and keep dealing with any criminal regime it serves their interests.

    • Posted By: busby @ 01/31/2009 10:09:07 AM

They are also afraid of their growing Muslim majority. Violence scares a lot of people including politicians, never known for their courage anyway.

If we consider that Israel is a :

    - religious/theocratic state ("jewish only"),

    - apartheid state (recently banned Arabs from taking part in the elections - to mention only that),

    - imperialistic state (occupies foreign land in Palestine and Syria and builds continuously illegal settlements in them),

    - war-loving state ( conducting wars every two years to "defend itself" without having ever started a peace initiative by itself),

    - war-crime-commiting state (warplanes, heavy artillery and illegal weapons against civilians in crowded places),

    - UN-Resolution-multi-defying state (holds the worls record for the most condemning resolutions ever),

    - Nazi-era-like-tactics state (ghettos everywhere in Gaza and the West Bank, blockade and seizure of Gaza, control of energy and resources in the occupied territories, humiliating and exhausting daily checkpoints for thousands of Palestinians, house demolitions, targeted killings, the annexation Wall well inside the Palestinian territories, kidnapping and impisonment of thousands of "suspects" without trial, starvation of the Gaza population as "means of pressure" against it),

it is not surprising that it has now fewer friends.
The surpising is that it has any friends.

I wish for you and yours a Muslim majority in the US. You won't last long. Read the Quran.

Since harrylogy ended the "conversation" but I suppose that still reads the comments, I end it here, too, saying that we, the Emperor Penguins of the South Pole, are above all the stupid man-dividing religions he mentioned and, being genetically qualified to survive the world's most harsh environment, there is no other proof needed to show that WE are God's chosen people.
(I have to close now, a storm is coming and we have to struggle for our survival. I hope that Israel makes peace with its neighbours until the storm is over because we are fed up with its "right to survive"...the world has enough problems already...

...(still no sight of the Newsweek Moderator, I guess he is an antisemite)...

anyone interested to see some real facts of the holocaust or shall i say the 2009 holocaust ,just Google the words (gazaholo)and compare ..thy say pictures don't lie?.

  • Posted By: harold_aka_texson @ 01/29/2009 10:09:59 PM

@harrylogy - I cannot help but chuckle when a person is called anti-semitic for defending the Palestinians. Truth be told most of the Palestinians are ???FAR??? more semitic than the Ashkenazic Jews who have moved to Israel for the express purpose of STEALING their land! I would love to hear your opinion of the Bell Curve.

  • Posted By: harold_aka_texson @ 01/29/2009 8:41:24 PM

@harrylogy - Not only are you an elitist, but a self evident Racist. I think you forgot the Blacks eating prowse with Fried Chicken & Watermelon. It is because of Zionist like yourself that the World is awakening to the TRUTH of what's going on in the Holy Land.

    @harrylogy
(...still laughing at your NBA "argument"...)
lWhy don't you try saying this to a black man, that he is not genetically qualified to play chess... he'd be glad to treat you like a basketball; that'd be fun to watch...hehe...

  • Posted By: KostasK @ 01/29/2009 1:33:22 PM

    @harrylogy
What a hillarious "argument" on blacks and whites, I really enjoyed it!
Is it genetics or the fact that blacks living in poor neighbourhoods play rough street basketball while the noble whites had chess to spend their lots of free time with? See, there is more than genetics in human behaviour.
And since you like genetics, here's a question: who survived? the "tough" primitive Neandertal or the thinker Homo Sapiens?
Tthe lie is not a substantial element oif racism, you know this is far from reality, as the racists and fascists are not lying, they actually believe what they believe so much that they become fanatic and neurotic about it. It is their ideology and their truth. And you know the usual result percentage in "elections" in totalitarian regimes...about 95%...
Now who is more patriotic (Jew, Kenyan, Martian, whatever...), the one who works for the peace, stability and progress of his people, or the one who puts his people in constant danger with his aggressiveness?...Yeah, the "tough" "genetically clean" guys, right!...

  • Posted By: KostasK @ 01/29/2009 12:12:33 PM

    @harrylogy
    1. "in the old times..."
Who says that today's majorities cannot also be wrong? Only history will tell. Some have learned from history (the Germans), others have not...
    2. "Nowadays, human rights..."
    Yeah, right! And donkeys fly...
    3. "There are many proselytized Jews..."
    So what?
    4. "Genetics ideas are right..."
You have just admited your racism and fascism by using this phrase. Slavery and Nazism were based on these ideas.
    5. "The terrorist loving..."
Yeah, and the "tough" Israelis have managed to bring peace to Jews all these years. Well, see the results, wars, wars, wars,...
    6. "Even more..."
    Ask them...

Everyone REALLY needs to go and watch a Documentary called Peace, Propaganda, & the Promised Land. I promise you will never watch a news broadcast the same way again. The URL for the Video is http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6604775898578139565

      thanks for sharing...

  • Posted By: KostasK @ 01/29/2009 4:17:01 AM

    @harrylogy:
As for the ones I mentioned, they all have "jewish blood", if you like genetically clean ideas (remember who else used them?)
They are known, awarded and well respected for what they say and write, they talk facts and arguments on humanitarian basis, international law, history and human rights. If you dissagree with them you have to face those arguments of theirs, not their number. By the way, let me add the professors Ilan Pappe and Neve Gordon, who I had in mind but forgot to mention. Add also the refuseniks and the numerous peace groups in Israel and abroad and fortunately there are a few brave to save Israel's dignity...

  • Posted By: KostasK @ 01/29/2009 3:41:30 AM

    @harrylogy
    1. Percentages have no meaning when we are talking human rights. Jews should know this very well, as they lived as misstreated minorities for far too long. Think of what the others, the "big" percentage, thought of them back then. Were they right? I guess not.
    2. Being "tough" is easy and talking "tough" even more. The real tough thing is to move against the current of arrogance and mass hallucinations that flows in fundamentalisms, nationalisms and fascisms. Ask Saddat and Yitzhak Rabin. They were assasinated by the "tough" guys...

  • Posted By: harold_aka_texson @ 01/28/2009 11:35:34 PM

@harrylogy - In the not to distant past almost 100% of the Earths population thought the World was flat by virtue of their overwhelming majority did that marke them right?

  • Posted By: KostasK @ 01/28/2009 10:51:37 AM

    Question:
What do Noam Chomsky, Uri Avnery, Avi Shlaim, Richard Dreyfuss, Max Blumenthal, Gideon Levy, Amira Haas, Akiva Eldar, Norman Finkelstein, Naomi Klein, Ran Ha Cohen, Rabbi Michael Lerner, Daniel Barenboim, Tony Kushner, Richard Falk, Stephen Frey and the late Tanya Reinhardt and Harold Pinter have in common?
They are "self-hating Jews", "antisemites" and "dwarfs" (in brain?...), of course....

  • Posted By: nonZionistJew @ 01/25/2009 4:21:27 PM

If Israel had borders I'd defend Israel's right to "self-defense," but self-defense presupposes a state with internationally recognized borders. Israel doesn't have those, because it has refused to declare its borders, so it can keep on grabbing Palestinian land and resources without also absorbing the Palestinians on that land into Israel as citizens. Zionism has to stop--somewhere on the ground, not in people's dreams or heads or whatever. People can hold whatever beliefs they want, but Israeli colonization of the West Bank has to be undone, or there won't be a contiguous Palestinian state or an "Israel," but instead Israeli repression of a population that is hostile to it. Israel has been an occupying power for longer than it's been a state, and that is detrimental to Israel to say nothing of American interests in the region.

Either the occupation has to end, or Israel has to absorb the Palestinians on the land it's claimed into the state of Israel as citizens. What is not sustainable is the apartheid system that is now in place. And saying it outloud is not anti-Semitic but political commonsense.

    • Posted By: KostasK @ 01/28/2009 10:24:19 AM

It's nice reading thoughts of people with clear mind. The borders issue speaks for itself. Let me only add that, as far as I know, Israel doesn't have a constitution, either. Not that much modern or democratic in the 21st century...

  • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 01/27/2009 7:36:31 PM

It is time for the world to stop taking sides and step up to try and help make this situation better. The original truce was a farce, there was no way Israel was going to trust Hamas not to use the truce as a chance to smuggle weapons into Gaza, so there was no way they Israek was going to open the borders.

If Hamas, and the Palistinian people in Gaza, want their borders open, they must come to terms with the fact that weapons smuggling into Gaza must stop - and it is going to take something more than just their word that they won't do it. That means an international force empowered to stop the smuggling. And that also means the Israelis must trust the this international force to do its job and agree to open the borders without conditions.

It is an approach that neither side is going to like. But as the saying goes, a compromise that results in both parties feeling dissatisfied in usually a good one.

    • Posted By: froy1100 @ 01/28/2009 9:33:37 AM

Israel didn't respect the truce not because of the arms smuggling, but because they needed to provoke Hamas to get an excuse to carry out their massacre, and pose in front of their electorate as tough guys before the elections.

Israel will never tolerate a strong and assertive Palestinian government. They favor their kapo Abbas, who does as they say, and keeps those unruly Arabs in line while they are at expanding their cute settlements in the West Bank.

Yes, let Israel fend for itself! No more American hand-tying! Let the Jews finally destroy the evil at their doorstep once and for all! Let us remember WHY Israel is in Gaza to begin with... They were attacked in 1967 without cause by these disgusting religious fanatics and needed a buffer zone to ensure added security. Then, after the Islamic Jihad promised peace if Israel withdrew, Israel aquiesed at our behest, only to be greeted with more death.... Wake up America.. this enemy will not LOVE you because you agree with them! Read their own writings and listen to their words... their goal is the destruction of Israel AND the USA!!!!! Oh, and to my Liberal friends, your secular progressive lifestyle is an affront to Islam, and I simply can not belive you people actually think you can talk to these animals...lol

    • Posted By: froy1100 @ 01/28/2009 8:39:54 AM

Without American unconditional support Israel wouldn't last one summer, my friend. At least be grateful..
