Photos: Of God and Politics in an Evangelical College

I don't know enough of the school to fairly critique it much, but I will say this. First, a church that embeds itself too deeply with secular political power is UNHEALTHY. Recall how Jesus himself said that his kingdom was not of this world. Second, if the report is to be totally believed, then the students there are basically becoming the Republican party's next generation of leadership. Historically, whenever "the" church got too cozy with any political faction, the church ended up with egg in its face. People should heed that. Finally, as several posters have illustrated, such as association with the GOP (along with the implied false claim that GOP=God's Own Party) is leading people to atheism. Bad theology leads not to good theology, but atheism. Christians should remember that.

Oh, and BTW, for a evangelical LEFT wing (actually not as uncommon as one would think, based on media reports)view at things, I heartily recommend the Sojourners website at http://www.sojo.net/

These evangelists are more dsangerous than the Hitler-era Nazi youth. This country needs to wake up to this threat from withi now...Our democracy is under threat from home-grown religious extremists.

We need God in our government as much as possible. You can't judge God based on the imperfect people who are Christians. No one on this earth is perfect. Only God.

But this University looks like it goes to the extreme. I don't think those kids needs to focus on what they look like. In other words, if you don't look like me (blonde hair, bue eyes), then you are not accepted. It's not the outward appearance, but the heart.

This place has fences around it. It just doesn't look 'normal' to me.

We need God's Help. And we need a President who acknowledges God. And we have that in President Barack Obama. I think the indecent dress of the women might be what started this movement. Men? They just wear shirts and pants. But it's the women who are so indecent in their attire. So the University Board decided to make everyone wear suits which means the women will have to meet a dress code.

I just don't think the kids should be focused on what they WEAR.

Something is wrong at this University. The only good thing is, hopefully this University won't have freaks attending: gays, lesbians, muslims, people from the Mid-East: we don't need sleeper cells - - Those are people who assimilate into American society (they work, pay taxes, go to school, etc) while they are WAITING for an opportunity to attack America from the inside.

GOD BLESS AMERICA ! America needs His Blessings and His Protection. And God bless the Jews. AND GOD BLESS PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA.

We have twin girls going into ttheir first year of high school this fall. You better believe we are going to look into this college. We would be relieved to send them to a college wgere they are not indoctrinated into the liberal point of view on every subject. Today's university staff is a left leaning close minded group of people that show intolerance and sometimes hatred for anyone who believes in anything other than liberalism. And no we don't go to church at all. We just happen to be traditional Americans. You should look past your intolerance and find out what you are missing by watching Fox News instead of American Idol once in a while.

I think it's great. This is what America is about...accepting every group, including consevative youths. If this was a liberal college who believed in abortion, sex before marriage, atheism, etc. everyone would embrace it because it's "open minded." How about being open minded to embracing this? They aren't doing anything wrong, and yet we feel it's "scary"....wow, talk about being closed minded.

Why is there a fence about the buildings? The women are modestly dressed. That's terrific. They don't look like hookers.

However, I agree with wearing jeans and sweats to college. The focus in college is on books, not looks. Grades, not braides . Book reports, the library, paying lab fees, working part time, studying, studying, and passing exams: not HOW YOU DRESS.

As far as lesbians, gays, atheist and muslims: we can do WITHOUT them. We don't need them. It would improve American society if this group fell off the face of the earth. American is not responsible for catering to other cultures. We are not obligated to embrace every sub-culture that wants to settle here.

America must support the Israel. I agree with President Barack Obama in his support of Israel.

I like Christian colleges, but these kids don't look normal. It can be a financial hardship to be required to wear suits to class. Why not jeans and a tee shirt. You can be more comfortable in less casual attire.

This college has gone to the extreme. Obviously they don't want Black or American Indians at the University. I guess they forgot the Scripture that says " Of a Truth, I perceive that God is no respecter of persons". But He does not agree with gays, lesbians or other types of freakish, demented behavior.

I think this is extreme and I wonder what they're teaching those kids. Does this place generate cults? Racism?????

Not hate, but RECOGNITION of what gays and lesbians want: they want to convert and they won't be satisfied until society is perverted just like them. They will seek out new venues to recruit. They are the lowest life form.

As for muslims, mohammed is dead. He can't help anyone. That is a true 'religion'. They are extremist who value nothing but their religous, fake god who has already died. They are also recruiters.

The mid-East is not a place for living a full, quality life. It is a place where women are treated worse than animals. Where the punishment for crime is the extreme.

Oh we have our problems in America. The WORLD has problems because we are not perfect.

And this university is an example of one of the problems we have in America.

The kids are made to focus on the outward appearance. God's Word says MANKIND focuses on the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.

I am personally against peverts and extremists. They are dangerous groups who push their agenda above everything. The are extreme zealots.

No, the Mid-East is not a place I would select to go on vacation. Now Latin America? I'd like to see Costa Rica and Eucador. I'll bet their beautiful. The Country of Chili and sail around the Magellan Strait. Even Mr. Chavez is more inclined to be friendlier to America since that dreaded Bush guy is gone !

Thank God that there are still some sane people in this country who put God first in their lives. God bless them. They will need all the blessings they can get in this God-hating society, which basically is determined to remove Christianity and silence anyone who is not politically correct a la Obama. As Jesus said Himself in the Gospels: "I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevali against it". So be it!

Thiis is very scarry stuff. Notice what wasn't at the school? Any blacks or Hispanics. Or at least no in the photos. This is a thowback to the Jim Crow era of the 40' and 50's. If these people have their way, you can expect a reveral in civiil rights laws.
