Ms. Nemstova must be entering menopuase for the hysterical opening to this article. Where, exactly, does Mr. Yurgens say that "freedom of the press has been lost" in Russia? I see him saying that it needs reform, but certainly you suggest that there is no freedom of the press at all in Russia with your over the top statement. If that were the case, such exemplary reporters as Yulia Latynina, and institutions such as Ekho Moskvy" would surely have been silenced by the FSB by now, no? They seem to be alive and well when I checked earlier today. Also, why should we accept your assessment that Mr. Yurgens report "deliver[s] a scathing critique of the government's shortcomings in combating Russia's deepening economic crisis???and a set of radical prescriptions"? What exactly does this mean? Without reading any of Mr. Yurgens' quotes from the report and based on his apparently well-balanced comments in this article, I have a really hard time believing your rhetoric. Who are you writing this for? People whose minds are already being continuously poisoned against Russia by neocon pundits and commentators in the U.S. press? In whose interests are you creating more hysteria? What is your goal? It's clearly not balanced reporting.
