    I'm said to say that I too once liked the music released by these two artists, but that was then and this is now. I just hope they keep it at that don't try some triumphant comeback tour. But I will say, it's funny how an article about Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer ends up turning into a flame war about Obama and race in the comments.

    FoHSoundguy, that's exactly what I was thinking when I saw your comment posted twice. OH Hell no, you didn't try to sound smarter the second time around. You sound like Ludacris when he stated that he wanted to thank all the white people that made him rich (or something close to it). I thought I was having a nightmare when I heard that and I woke up and realized that I had bought one of his CD"s because it was humorous. Makes me wonder if he uses the term "white slavery", which sounds RACIST. I know that I will be called the racist now because I pointed out that you made a racist comment. I loved the music from both artists and sometimes still listen to it, so I guess that makes me a slave, thank you for showing that there is still racism in this country. I thought it would slow down after the election of an African American president. White people are so foolish!!!!!

          Usually when people steal something, they don't pay for it for centuries after. You, my nonfriend, need the history lesson. I haven't staked claim on anyone, especially the man (whatever he is) that you call your president. Is he in the spotlight? Yeah that's right, just like Britney Spears was, and I turned the channel everytime I saw her on the tv too. Please enlighten me with your wisdom esq, who have the whitey's staked a claim on? It was white guilt for rantings like yours that got Obama elected in the first place. The bleeding hearts have a right to stake claim as they went out in droves to give money to his campaign, rally, and vote for him. I never liked, wanted, or cared for him, so I will never "claim" him, you can keep him. Whenever you are ready to give me that history lesson I have my pencil and paper ready, I would love to hear about how the white man has kept everyone down for centuries, because I haven't heard that one before. Thanks again for your infinite wisdom.

            yea.... you really think the united states government, with all they're power and covert abilites, would allow a kenyan muslim terrorist to be the figure head/leader of the "most powerful" nation on earth? obama is legit, although he came from a corrupt political arena in chicago, hes more legit than bush. thats about the only thing you can really hold against him.

      if you hate newsweek, and think the authors of the articles and peices are "hacks"...why do you visit this site? just wondering, because if there is something/someone i dont like or dont agree with, i avoid that something/someone in protest. but your here, clicking around on various articles, and making newsweek more money every time you click on a new page. did you know that? to take your time and call the author a hack you just put more money in his pocket.

    Frankly, I have been intrigued by Robot Chicken's parody "Make the Table Round" of Sir Mix-a-Lot "Baby Got Back", so I have revisitied the early 90es music (that included MC Hammer) and actually found it very enjoyable. Surprisingly enjoyable. If anything, it needs a facelift (thanks to computers, the sound became richer in music in general), but the tunes themselves are very, very catchy. I think that they could easily sell a small concert in Toronto.

    And, yes, 20 years after the fact MC Hammer style pants are cool.

      whats really funny is that most of these young hip hop heads and wannabe little suburban "gangsters" that wear pants 10 sizes too big and half way down they're legs can almost attribute that baggy style to Hammer... and they think that they look "hard".... hahahaha

      i loved mc hammer, never dug on vanilla ice much, way to corny with his wannabe flat top and shaved eyebrows. but he was/is still relevant thanks to reality TV. and to give the guy credit, he never stopped making music, he never stopped performing. he has been in bands, did some rock, still played around with hip hop, and stayed within the public view.

    That's the problem, people want to prejudge and get offensive as if it was Obama that put this country where it is now...Bush Regime anyone? Obama hasnt been the president over the past 8 years, NOR is he responsible for the likes of what's going on. instead of trying to blame Obama for this country's mistakes, why don't you look at the real culprits, freakin Congress. Both houses are responsible for voting on all this crap that has put the country where it is, so even Bush had help in being the idiot he was in running this country. They knew it was wrong then yet they still allowed it to happen, so just as most racist out there want to blame Obama, try to realize it didnt happen overnight that this country is where it is and it's not going to be fixed any faster. It will easily take any president, whether McCain, Clinton, whoever may have won,l 2 terms just to get a dent in what's wrong with this country

    I think its good that these guys are able to perform after so many years. These two guys will always be linked since they both were one hit wonders in the early 90's. I think these guys receive to much criitcism they have to have been somewhat talented to achieve the success that they had.

    Hey i loved this event. It was a fun party/concert
    Granted I did enjoy it because I was taking pictures at it.
    But none the less... from someone who grew up in the Era and wasn't even a huge fan of these particular musicians
    It was a lot of fun and great to have a blast from the past
