    To also use one of Mr Twains quotes I think sums up Rush. Usually people with these characteristics blow so much smoke because they believe they are better than the average man, in Rush's case he believes that he is better than the average politician. He is the epitomy of everything Americans should be against (bigotry, gluttony, drug abuse...). But he will never see it because when Rush looks in the mirror all he sees the American dream.

    Rush makes $50,000,000 A year ,which is okay by me , but the average reporter regardless of the medium makes a modest salary of a few thousnd a year . But according to rush they are the elites . Funny huh? Most reporters seem more liberal because their work takes them into the street where they see the conditions real people live in and deal with every day . Can you see rush walking around in any poor neighbor hood talking to actual poor people ? He livesin a gated community of ultra rich , which is okay by me , but how does that make him an expert on the problems of every day folks?

    I personally dont really listen to the news anymore. To much of the "news anchors" are more commentators than anything. Fox annoys me because they are so conservative and to the far right while CNN irks me because they are the opposite. Rush is a disgrace to his party and the people who follow him are a disgrace as well. I tend to have a moderate stance, I dont call myself Repub or Dem I call myself a voter. But if you ask Bill that just makes me a coward lol. I'll show him coward. He can come with me on my next deployment. Lets see who the coward is then.

    And I read more about the map link that you sent me and once again the Institute is using this information to bring this to the attention of elected officials who can change policies. The information is compelling (even though your accusations of them using the military was off) and I can honestly say that it is sad. But still the anger you possess is sad especially with the way you choose to express it.

        I was just pointing out to poor Jack that even if I don't agree with your view point you can at least take an adult approach and lay out your facts, statistics, lies, whatever in a manner that is structured and well mannered. Sadly, there mission statement will never work. If history does indeed repeat itself there hasn't been a nation in this worlds history that has operated with complete limitations on government control. Most of those nations became dictatorships after a while due to instability financially/economically, politically, the reasons go on.

        And besides all of that (since now I think I am rambling) notice that both Jack and Bill have now shut up...I think I did a good job turning their facts against them.
        And I know what the government conspiracy is....Zombies. Government wants to control us by making us mindless automotons. I think that is what Jack and Bill are trying to warn us about. :-P

          Ditto heads by the defintion of their name are mindless automatons , and by the way rush does not have 20,000,000, listeners , that is a weekly total , or 4,000,000 a day . Most are the same folks every day . I personally boycott any business that has rush or fox on in ther public area and boycott any products they advertise. And yes I listen to rush often to remind myself . It only requires 15 minutes or so as he is mind numbingly repetitive.

    And by the way Jack, I did take an open minded approach and looked at the Cato Institute web page (as a whole not just the small link you sent my way.) Compelling information and a very compelling theory of operation, I am glad to see a group of people using their beliefs in a structured, well mannered way. But I still don't get your point with sending me this link. According to their mission statement "The Institute will use the most effective means to originate, advocate, promote, and disseminate applicable policy proposals that create free, open, and civil societies in the United States and throughout the world." So from the sounds of it they don't have a problem with government, our government to be exact, they just want to institute new policies. Sounds like more than you are doing.

      demcat, i think I will have to agree with you on that one. It's sad that people like Jack like to throw allegations around but when it comes to dropping evidence they scurry away like the little mice that they are. Sounds like he is a mad little man who had his pee pee knocked into the dirt as a child by the big bullies at school and now he is on a rampage to prove how much better and smarter he is than all of them. Or maybe mommy and daddy didn't get him the pony he wanted for his birthday.
      Ugh, why am I even bothering getting mad about what he has to say? Maybe because everyday that I put my uniform and combat boots on I know that people like him are here throwing around stupid allegations and comments as if they could run things so much better. Well to all of those out there who think that, STEP UP! If things could be so much better then why don't they do something about it? I am so torn, I am sick and tired of listening to these whiners moan about the government but then watching them get their panties in a wad when they can't give evidence backing up their claims.

    First off if you pay for your land outright, no mortgage no rent, then it is yours to do with as you please (but beware there will be sales tax on it along with other taxes I'm sure). And tell me if no one alive has protected your rights why do you have the right to speak so freely against those you disagree with? I see that you very freely take the liberty of your 1st amendment rights. So please tell me how the government is imposing such harsh rules on you.
    Also, I am in the military and know people who deal with and work with SWAT. I don't think I have ever heard of them "attacking" anyone on their land and hauling them off to jail. Obviously you need to read up on how government works and operates. And the latest Dean Koontz or Dan Brown book doesn???t count. And to be completely honest with you, if this country, my country, is a bunch of murdering thieves then why don???t you move to a country that shares your views? Can it be that there isn???t one out there?

        Once again, if you dont agree with paying the tax then why do you live here? Everyone who works or buys anything in this country realizes that there is some type of tax. If you don't agree with it no one is holding you back from moving away. As for killing you if you resist. Please give me a case where this has happened in the recent past.

    JackBass, first of all I was just making a point to all of those out there that taxes are not being stolen from anybody. I believe everyone is aware that if they work in the US that there is state and federal income tax and if they buy anything in the US that there will be sales tax.
    Second, I never said to buy anything from the underground economy or black market. What I did suggest was learning to live on your own instead of depending on businesses that will charge sales tax . I know many people who live off the land instead of "paying the man" (oh and they are alive and well, no death threats or anything from anybody).
    And by the way, don't deride my intelligence without even knowing me. I voluntarily joined the military to protect the rights of people like you. If it were not for people like me you would not have the right to sit here and ridicule me or the government. Look around you and think about the luxuries that you have. If you don't see it live in another country (like Iran, Iraq, Afganistan, Saudi Arabia, China or Russia to name a few) for a while and then you may realize just how great this nation is and how easy you have it.

        Bill, I have given you an abudance of factual evidence against the claims of theft and murder that you have made against hard working American citizens. YOu have done a wonderful job beating around the bush when asked a question. I did appreciate the editorials that you sent me but I don't think that those can be considered facts. By the way the definition of fact is: a statement or assertion of verified information about something that is the case or has happened or a concept whose truth can be proved. So please give me FACTS on how taxes are stolen and how the government and those who support government are murderers. You work freely in this country with the understanding that taxes are going to be taken out of your check. If you do not want to pay taxes then take a job that pays you cash straight out (cash doesn't get taxed). Also, stop buying things from stores and comany's because as everyone is aware there is a sales tax on all of those. I would learn to farm and make your own products. Oh, and while you are at it please stop using roads, public libraries, public schools and any thing else that is government funded while you are it.

    First of all, for those using parenthood as an excuse, lame. Everyone in the United States has the choice to be either married or not and whether they have children out of wedlock or not is all up to them as well. As for those using education as an excuse, I am sure that all of those candidates for promotion have learned to read and write giving them all the ability to study. For those that scored lower (black, white or otherwise) they should assert themselves to studying harder so they can make the grade next time. It was plainly stated in the article that the Fire Dept that had administered the test found that a group of white men and a hispanic had outscored a group of black men. So why did they not deserve the promotion? They didn't get it because the town did not want to look racist or discriminatory towards other ethnic groups. The color of your skin shouldn't matter, promotions should be based on merit and the hard work and dedication one puts into their job.

I still do not know who pulled the test results , their ethnicity or their real reason . I am a retired FF , caucasion . and I can believe ,that when you block an entire ethnic group ( there is only one race, the human race ) From it`s inception and for several generations how do you set things right. It`s easy for the priveleged group to shout " shake it off. get over it ." But when the shoe is on the other foot ,watch them sqeal. Society is three times as likely to provide a white child with two married parents as it is to provide that for a black child. Hospital maternity wards are three times as likely to send a black newborn home to a single parent family than when sending a white baby home. When you consider the correlation between single parenthood and poverty, this kind is racial discrimination is simply intolerable.

      You phrase your argument as if it is society's doing that the white child would go home to married parents and the hospital's fault that the black child goes home with a single parent. But last I checked, black parents were just as able to marry as white parents. Therefore, it is the parents of the child who are responsible for the circumstances that the child goes home to, not society or the hospital. So please don't make it sound as if it is anyone else's fault that the child in question has or does not have two parents at home.
      And for the record, I'm a white woman who was a single parent for several years.

      Maybe more black babies are given to single family homes because more blacks have kids out of wedlock and they have many more babies each on the average. (However whites are having a lot more also.) More black people are on Section 8 than the other races. How long will we be giving "minorities" advantages over the others?

        I don't know why I bother to respond to such ignorance even though I know it won't make a difference, but here goes. The reason there are so many single black mothers is greatly complicated. Too complicated for you I am sure. I will give the simplistic version so here goes. In the past, this nation did everything in its power to keep black men oppressed and the black family weak. FACT. It started during slavery when fathers were ripped from their families by their masters. FACT. It continued with American justice system. FACT. If you do some actual research as opposed to making absurd statements, you would know facts like the fact that blacks are incarcerated at alarmingly higher rates and given longer terms than whites who commit the same crimes. This helps prevent many black men from being fathers as well. In addition, Jim Crow and segregation instituted by whites helped ensure that millions of blacks would not be allowed to get a decent education and prosper. That is just recently begun to be corrected. And these are just SOME of the many reasons for the alarming rates of poor black single parent homes. Now it has been a whopping 40 whole years (out of hundreds), that the playing field was made much more level. So please forgive the people who have yet to escape the cycle of poverty that your forefathers CREATED. I know we were expected to forget the past overnight, which includes self hatred that was ingrained in blacks since this country was founded. Just have some patience my ignorant friend. I know that even though more whites than blacks get public assistance, the fact the blacks get it seems to bother you greatly.

            You don't have all of your facts right. First, black families are weak because black women have several children by different fathers. Are all black men in prision? Why do they have numerous children by different men that they can not support? Second, these women go on welfare and we all end up supporting these childre. Third, the welfare system discriminates against white families. I know several white parents who are working hard to make ends meet and apply for a little help and they get denied, but the black women who have numerous children are getting all kinds of help. How is this fair? You are the ignorant one.

There are more whites than blacks in this country, so more whites get public assistance than blacks. Facts are your friends, ignorance is not.

    I liken this story to my own life as a Dallas Firefighter.wWite fireman have been denied life, likberty,and the pursuit of happines for over 25 years. Our illustious town cowards have allowed racial quatas, and manifest imbalance as an excuse to discriminate against whites for promotions, hireing, and specific assighnments.The latest ruse is called the
    assessment center, this allows the powers above to hand pick their employees based not on their knowledge
    but on their skin color. I personally have been denied three promotion even thow I outperformed other candidates.
    I wish someone will once and for all tell me why the constitution does not protect me in this most unfair circumstance.

    As a firefighter going through the same type pf lawsuit I can tell all of you that its time to stand up and fight for yourself, if you get denied a promotion because you are white you gotta fight! There won't be anyone there like Al Sharpton and the gang protesting on city hall steps you will be there fighting by yourself.Yes many will be there to back you and hope that you prevail. Its time for us to stand up for our rights no different than a minority fighting for their rights. Go get em!
