Beauty-boosting gadgets may look a bit different today than they did in our grandmothers' day, but in truth, our primping techniques haven't changed all that much. To tame our hair, we still use heat and/or bleach, and for skin, we steam, tan, and slather on the latest anti-aging or exfoliating concoction.
