How violence from Mexico's drug trade affects the U.S.

In recent years, drug-related violence in Mexico has increasingly spilled over to U.S. cities, and it's not just border towns that have been affected. Justice Department officials have found Mexican drug trafficking organizations in 230 cities, some as far as Anchorage, Alaska and Sheboygan, Wis. These cartels can take a large human toll: in addition to distributing drugs, they often engage in assaults, kidnappings and human trafficking. Here's a look inside their rapidly growing world.

Harley just forgot to use the often forgotten term of "illegal Mexicans" instead of just Mexicans. I have some very dear "legally immigrated friends. Some of them are even Mexicans but all are legal. Sheriff Arapaio has done great work in keeping inmates locked up economically and safely. Good job Sheriff Joe!

Right, Joe Arpaio, who has been accused of letting several prisoners die in jails of disease and neglect. He doesn't sound like a model jailer to me.

Also, with regard to locking everybody up, where have you been? Mexican cartels have FAR more power in the prison system than they do on the streets. They can order hits, do drugs, even negotiate deals - most U.S. prisons have both a drug connection and a fairly easy way for gang bosses to get messages back and forth to lieutenants on the streets..

I really think people like you do not think deeply about the issue. You get rageful and want to punish people, and end up ignoring a lot of problems that make things worse, in the long run.
