The bipartisan panel that investigated the terrorist attacks was widely praised. But did its final report rely on suspect information?

Thank you Newsweek for FINALLY raising questions regarding the "official" 9-11 conspiracy
theory. It's not just the testimony of tortured suspects that's in doubt, but the testimony of the
alleged "experts" who try to attribute the obvious demolition of WTC1, WTC2, and WTC7
to fires and damage. Hundreds of highly qualified experts reject the "official" explanation and
support their objections with solid evidence, science, and physics.
    For further details,see:

    http://journalof911studies.org
    http://ae911truth.org
    http://stj911.org

All the evidence and research indicates that 9-11-01 was a "false flag" operation and a cover-up.
Please investigate this further and make your findings public!
    Thanks you.

you can get a human being to admit to any lie with the right torture technique -they will admit they were born on mars and have been to bed with marilyn monroe too -as well as they killed jfk and then oswald took the blame falsely .

as marion coutillard said europe along with rest of world is totally convinced 9/11 was a cia covert operation to justify invading afghanistan and iraq as the targets were paki nukes and oil .
    they both misfired though ,
i am sorry so many people died in 9/11 for nothing

The 911 commission is a white wash. There are so many omissions and distorstions. The official story can not possible be true when looked at with the slightest degree of skepticism. Science is not left or right, it is science. And for those who think that this is a left right issue, many who don't buy the official story think Bush still believes OBL along with 19 Arab hijackers did it alone and by complete surprise.

The result obtained will be a tainted one. Most official findings are just official. If you believe the official version of any announcement involving the government, then you still believe that Iraq has the WMD somewhere in the Green Zone.

    - Raymond McGovern, PhD, former Chairman of the CIA's National Intelligence Estimates (NIE) and 27-year CIA veteran. "I think at simplest terms, there's a cover-up. The 9/11 Report is a joke." (According to the CIA, NIE's are "the most authoritative written judgments concerning national security issues.")

    - William Christison, former Director of the CIA's Office of Regional and Political Analysis, overseeing 250 CIA analysts. 29-year CIA veteran. "I now think there is persuasive evidence that the events of September did not unfold as the Bush administration and the 9/11 Commission would have us believe. ... An airliner almost certainly did not hit The Pentagon. ... The North and South Towers of the World Trade Center almost certainly did not collapse and fall to earth because hijacked aircraft hit them."

    - Melvin Goodman, PhD, former Division Chief of the CIA's Office of Soviet Affairs and Senior Analyst from 1966 - 1990. "The final [9/11 Commission] report is ultimately a coverup. I don't know how else to describe it."

    - General Albert Stubblebine, former commanding general of U.S. Army Intelligence. 32-year U.S. Army veteran. "I look at the hole in the Pentagon and I look at the size of an airplane that was supposed to have hit the Pentagon. And I said, ???The plane does not fit in that hole???. So what did hit the Pentagon? What hit it? Where is it? What's going on?"

    - Terrell Arnold, former Deputy Director of Counter-Terrorism and Emergency Planning, U.S. State Department. "Washington leadership keeps the American people fixated on the events of 9/11. They have brought us no closer than we were on September 12, 2001 to resolving how it was executed and by what enemy. They tell us repeatedly that it was the work of al Qaida, but they have yet to show us the proofs. They told us the official version of what happened that day, but their story is laced with contradictions, and the facts visible on the ground at the time belie much of the official account. ... As an alleged post 9/11 defense, the War on Terrorism is a gigantic fraud." written July 2007

For decades, we relied on these individuals to collect information essential to our national security and provide critical analysis during a time when the U.S. faced far more real and much more serious threats than anything today. We cannot now ignore their stunning condemnation of the official account of 9/11.

It's not clear what your argument is. Are you saying that any new torture investiation shouldn't be in the style of the "9/11 Commission" becaue the latter ignored torture? Obviously that makes no sense -- the structure of an investigation is wholly separate from the content of its investigation.

If you're saying that we should go back and reevaluate the findings of the 9/11 Commission in light of these reports -- that's more interesting, and it seems to be what you get around to saying by the end of the article. But go back and reread the first few paragraphs and see if that lines up at all with what you were saying there. As it is, this article is just confusing.

9/11 as an inside job explains why you would use interrogation techniques that are well established to generate just the answers that will make the torture stop (ie, the answers the interrogators want to hear, regardless if its true or not). Sounds a good way to end up with folks admitting to a crime they didnt committ. They wanted false confessions. Thats the point. (or one of the points...gitmo had many uses to further their agenda of control via fear)

9/11 was an inside job. The 9/11 commission was a joke led by a bush loyalist. But hey as long as they keep us spinning our wheels about the details of the illusion their goal is met. The Zeitgeist Documentary really adds another dimension to this whole bailout as well. This is not the first time our government has used events of their creation to drive the population into conflicts the US people have no intrest in (until we are "attacked") Gulf of Tonkin anyone? Sound familier?

The most depraved is when they then go on TV and gloat that we havent been attacked since 9/11. Wow thanks for not killing anymore of our own people! Must have been hard to resist as the poll numbers sank lower, but hey as long as we were still in Iraq borrowing money to waste, who cares right?

It is interesting that as the nature of the Bush Administration's "enhanced interrogation techniques becomes clearer (and more generally regarded as reprehensible torture), Dick Chenney comes to the talkshow/news circuit to decry the Obama Administration for putting America at risk by abandoning these practices.
Mr. Chenney should crawl back into his undisclosed location until the prosecutions begin.....

I am outraged at the Bush administration for "bending" or just frankly ignoring the Geneva Convention's covenants. Bush and Rumsfeld did this. They took the rules on torture and toyed with them until they could get away with it. I think those involved in handing down the "ok" to torture should be charged with crimes against humaity and stand trial. Waterboarding, which sounds like a fun little sport, is horrific by any standard. A person is stripped naked and strapped to a board and then placed in cold water until they are painfully hypothermic. Then, to keep the person from dying, they are taken out, warmed up and placed back in the cold water again. This is repeated over and over and only stops when the person shows signs of shock and imminent death. That is torture in the truest sense. You don't have to leave marks or make a person bleed or beat them. Apparently, the ones in charge thought this is just what the doctor ordered. I condemn it and I am ashamed our country did this to human beings. It is really hard to hold your head high for your country when you learn of these things and to all of those people, I am so sorry and saddened this happened. It truly makes me sick to my stomach.

"Lawmakers say the obvious model for such an inquiry would be the 9/11 Commission???an independent bipartisan body praised for its authoritative account of the attacks." Pray tell, who could possibly praise the 9/11 Commission report for its "authoritative account of the attacks?" The unanswered questions. the failure to ask tough questions, the failure to have the witnesses under oath, the ignoring of hundreds if not thousands of witnesses with first hand knowledge of the events of that day, the failure to have the steel examined for explosive residue, and on and on. In no respect can this official report be considered an "authoriative account of the attacks." The failure to secure the crime scene, permitting White House partisans to control the evidence and witnesses and virtually writing the "official report" which was first of all, approved by the White House.

If this is what is planned, don't waste the money!!
