      The Streisand Foundation??? you have got to be kidding, a foundation that has NO ANNUAL report, nobody REALLY know what the money goes to, and you think she has done so much for humanity??? She is just a big mouth that doesn't want to get her hands dirty...she ONLY comes out of her castle when someone is honoring here. Most were right here, what a waste of a magazine page.

        Laid-Off in Florida, where Shackels snarkiness came from is (predictably) the far right, which has repeatedly slandered and smeared Streisand in any way that they can for what they consider her leftist activism.

        The Streisand Foundation was incorporated as a 501(c)3 in Santa Monica, CA in 1986. It is a private foundation, meaning that Streisand is the only donor. It has made grants totaling over $18 million to national organizations working on the preservation of the environment, voter education, the protection of civil liberties and civil rights, women's issues and nuclear disarmament - all causes that the far right find eminently threatening, and have deemed to be leftist, radical, un-American activities.

        And who knows who gets the money, exactly? Well, this is a matter of public record for anyone who wants to look it up, and here are just a few: the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund, the Center for Public Integrity, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Institute for America's Future and the William J. Clinton Foundation.

        The more bizarre, hate-filled and almost completely inaccurate postings I see from these right-wing nuts , the more concerned I am for my country and the con artists and fascists who have apparently been running the show while I worked 60 hours a week for the past ten years. I am very happy that so many in Hollywood have the brains to see what these whack jobs are about and the resources to fight them because otherwise, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights would not be worth the parchment they are written on.

    Ms. Streisand may be the least helpful, most hurtful American citizen since Joseph McCarthy, and she's certainly as vicious. Even her music can't undo her damage to the culture at large and this country in particular. Like him or not, in their personal encounter, the former President showed a class Ms. Streisand will never know.

      Where in the WORLD did that come from??? You obviously did not grow up in the 60's. Barbra has helped women everywhere achieve greatness by taking the "rap" from people like you who don't like it when a woman is talented, shows it AND accomplishes Great Things!!! Stop whing and get off the internet. Go find a job.

    I have always loved Barbra Streisand...her voice, her look. And Yentl has always been one of my favorite movies. Barbra is talented in so many areas!

    A disappointing article, but great to know that Barbra is still making news! She's a true legend, with a voice like an angel. Saw her a little over a year ago, and she STILL puts on a great concert! She's an inspiration, still going strong!

    All you right-wing hand-wringers have a choice. Either get used to it or get over it. Streisand has been an important part of American pop culture for almost fifty years. She has opinions. She voices those opinions. Those of you who degrade her because of her political views are deceitfully un-American. You are complicit in what has happened to this country because of your support for George W. Bush and his disgraceful policies. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

    Wonderful to see Barbra, although I felt bad for her to have to put up with such a ridiculous interview(er). The article title---"Barbra Takes It Like A Man"---set the tone perfectly for all the inane questions that followed. Ms. Streisand gets five gold stars for not blowing up and walking out of the "interview". setootie's questions were either insulting ('Are the clothes you sell on e-bay for your foundation actually yours'), or simply dumb ("Did you see Josh Brolin in "W"?). He'd be a perfect contestant on the old Gong Show...
