Since when did "friend" become a verb?
Well, maybe since Friendster came out, which is another older and popular social networking site.
Face it, our digital lives at work force us or enable us (however you want to look at it) to spend a lot of time online. Instead of keeping in touch by meeting up, hand-writing notes, and giving gifts, we now have the option to do it digitally. Without leaving our seats and keeping our work spaces minimized, we can take 30 seconds to reach out and "poke" a friend and give a 1 cm-high champagne bottle on a birthday!
Lately, my classmates from PRIMARY school found me online. That's scary, since I haven't been in touch with them for 25 years. I say hooray, we need all the digital company we can get in this fast-changing world!
