Rhonda and Paul met four years ago atop a waterfall overlooking a lush green valley in Second Life, the 3-D computer world. They've been inseparable ever since—so to speak. In the real world, there are oceans between them: Rhonda lives in California, Paul in Wales, and they've only met in person three times. But they've managed to create a happy love story, despite the physical distance. In Second Life, they go on dates, hold hands, kiss. Sometimes they have virtual sex. Outside that digital world, they use video chat to peer into each other's worlds, even when they're sleeping. A look into their unlikely romance.

Forgot to mention, my wife is from England and I'm from California. Don't you just love those 11 hour non-stop plane flights?

Paul and Rhonda, things will work out - however you want them to. My wife and I met nearly 10 years ago in a MUD - basically a text-based online world not too different from second life. We went through a lot of struggles and pitfalls, played many games and even checked out second life together. Ultimately we made a serious go of it. We've been married, living together in California for a year now. If you need any advice on immigration or even just want to get to know people who know exactly what it's like, reply here and we'll figure some way to get in touch.
