Paul and Rhonda, things will work out - however you want them to. My wife and I met nearly 10 years ago in a MUD - basically a text-based online world not too different from second life. We went through a lot of struggles and pitfalls, played many games and even checked out second life together. Ultimately we made a serious go of it. We've been married, living together in California for a year now. If you need any advice on immigration or even just want to get to know people who know exactly what it's like, reply here and we'll figure some way to get in touch.

Forgot to mention, my wife is from England and I'm from California. Don't you just love those 11 hour non-stop plane flights?

Ms. Bennett has given us a refreshingly candid look at one couple's attempts to make a relationship work regardless of the distances between the two parties. Thank you! I suspect there are many more stories like this, and I am heartened that Newsweek would print this story even though it contains no hint of blackmail, kidnapping, or murder. Our world is increasingly connected in exponentially expanding ways. Thanks for paying attention, Ms. Bennett, and for sharing good news...!
