A Terror Suspect in the Dock

Everyone is a Terrorist, except the Rehtuglikkkan Regime who terrorized the world :

with intolerance and racism towards , race religion and color.

Republikkkans were the majority who terrorized the world and America .

Now , that we have some real Democratic and Pro Democracy Leadership.
We should be able to enact some legislation to prevent further local terrorism and legislating from the exec branch and appointements to any branch of govt for conditional political gain and to bypass the constitution and disguise it with patriotism.

Why don't we just serve these terrorists tea and muffins. If we get any softer on these evil, hateful people, we might as well just apologize for our existence. I'm so tired of hearing that these poor terrorists have been "tortured" and yet somehow they are still here, walking around, complaining and healthy, well fed. What do you think the victims of 9/11 had done to them--now THAT'S torture! They individuals are not American citizens and they are not entitled to any rights, certainly not Constitutional rights. What Constitution do they believe in? They belong in Gitmo; we can't even handle our own criminals in our courts. Unbelievable! Nice work Obama. You have to answer to when these guys are released into the community and they commit an act of terrorism.

Would someone please explain to me why a non-cittizen coming to the USA to kill Americans deserves full protection of the constitution?

More transparency or better journalism? The reader having to do all the work oneself to find out the pertinent information makes pieces like this almost entirely pointless save as a reminder of the stunning lack of curiosity on the part of the authors. Turns out the 'declaration' was one long list of unsubstatiated claims, presented without even a sniff of supporting evidence. It becomes even more important in light of this to know why on earth Carr made the decision he made. Also why should the notoriety of a case have any bearing on the outcome? Since when are trials meant to be decided on the basis of public opinion? I'm not seeing this marked difference you speak of. Also doesn't the idea that they are trying 'hard core terrorists' undermine the assertion that they're being afforded their full rights? Also, the Obama administration sees the war on terror as a primarly law enforcement problem and not a military conflict? I'm afraid I lost the train of thought at that sentence because it's completely bizarre. Are we just running with the idea that the law really doesn't/shouldn't apply in military conflict and therefore Obama must somehow be treating this as something else - rather than the concept of equal application of the law REGARDLESS of whether the conflict is considered military or not?

This case just cries out for more transparency. What were the contents of the "declaration" filed by Jeffrey Rapp? Who is Jeffrey Rapp? Did Magistrate Carr give any explanation of why that declaration persuaded him? Al Marri has been held in solitary confinement for six years already. Has any explanation ever been given for this other than the intention to "break" him? The accusations sound very implausible, since he is not a Saudi. I have a feeling (hope) this is going to turn out to reveal the Bush administration's "evidence" to be utterly unconvincing to anyone outside the Bush Justice Department.
