Why have people just stopped talking about AIDS/HIV? It has never gone away, infact it is every where from down town junkies and working girls to the mom in the van full of kids on the way to a ball game. It is no longer that GAY cancer that you can only get in the bath houses any more. It can be the man or woman in the safeway buying food for the forth of July Bar B Q. Its the lil child you pass in the hosp that looks like any other child. I dont understand how something like AIDS/HIV can be sweep up and hidden like it has been. We talk of bird flu and sars the price of gas. But not the single mom trying to hold it togeather as she fights the fight of her life. We as a people dont like to look at the things that are ugly or may be distastful. But there is nothen in the world more heart breaking, ugly, or sad then a 5 year old in a state of full blowen AIDS. Looking like the pics from world war 2 when the GI's opened the camps and showed the wold what the Germans had did to the Jews. Yes they are all sunken, with huge eyes filled with pain, ribs showing and looking to the grown ups for help.
