    What prize human faiths?

As human civilization evolves, especially with the onslaught of science and modern computer technology, religious institutions would need to keep pace with the changing world. Dogmatism does not necessarily work all the time in the context of this new age, pragmatism should prevail instead.

The conflicts of cultures have been in no small measure due to certain groups obstinately clinging to obsolete tradition and belief. Some customs need to be continued, some faiths may be preserved. But blind and total adherence to faith could often induce followers to lose respect and tolerance for others, resulting in unwelcome antagonism of futile consequences.

The only constant in this world is its inconstancy, things are transient and they do often change. But then would staunch religious followers change for the sake of a better tomorrow for all?

HOW DOES THE JEWISH FAITH HANDLE GAY WANTING TO GET MARRIED UNDER JEWISH TRADITION. IS IT ALLOWED. I REALLY THINK COMPARING GAYS TO THE CIVIL RIGHT MOVEMENT IS RIDICULOUS THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE, OWN PROPERTY, ECT... THEY HAVE EVERY RIGHT A CITIZEN HAS. I SAY GAYS MARRY UNDER JEWISH TRADITION WITH A RABBAI. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE GAY GET MARRIED IN THE CHURCH. LET THEM START THERE OWN CHURCH WHY MUST REGULAR PEOPLE BE FORCED TO ACCEPT A GAY AGENDA.

The modern church preaches a watered down message in avoiding the full Truth of God and is causing our children to be misguided. It is easy to tell people what they want to hear but real maturity comes when we recognize our weakness to build our strengths. 1-3% of the US population is Jewish, according to Google. How is this article germane?

It is completely relevant as it serves as a model fo all religions and denominations. It's entirely irrelevant in that it is about that specifc group of superstitions, myths and mind-numbing lack of logic that's called religion, of any ilk.

It is not germaine- 15 % of the American Population is Hispanic- and Black. A good portion is of German extraction. I do not see 15% of the stories about Hispanic and Blacks- Maybe less than 1%. There is minimal stories about the German heritage of America. now try and justify that

Maybe Jews read magazines more often than other minorities? Jews are also more likely to be magazine writers. After all, they are the people of the book.

Maybe Jews read magazines more than other minorities? How about the fact that magazine writers are more likely to be Jewish? After all, we are the people of the book.

Indeed, traditional models of synagogue life are not meeting the needs of many Jews who seek a contemporary Jewish experience. So, now it's time for something new. Given the increasing mobility of the Jewish community, its decreasing affiliation rates, and the widespread use of technology, the time is ripe for an online endeavor - a virtual synagogue like www.OurJewishCommunity.org. It's a project of Congregation Beth Adam in Cincinnati. What the article describes as new ways to be Jewish (e.g. not knowing Hebrew or not believing in a particular God concept) have been part of Beth Adam's Judaism since it was founded almost three decades ago by Rabbi Robert Barr. Beth Adam and OurJewishCommunity.org view Judaism from a humanistic perspective - and value inclusivity and progress.

Rabbi Rachel Nussbaum is definitely a looker. She has a sweet spirit about her. In my eyes, she easily makes the Rabbi Hot List.

This is a very relevant article. We live in a post modern society and there still many congregations which continue to uphold traditional styles of worship which many our the youth can not identify with. Some believe that these conventional forms of worship are important to salvation, but this is obviously not so. We are taught by the scriptures (Torah) that the prerequisite for salvation is a relationship with God.

At the same time, a congregation should be a body of believers whose hearts are filled with love. Therefore ,whenever individual walks into a church they should bbe able to experience love and acceptance. Many times strangers we refer to as visitors who enter our churches or assemblies feel isolated from the mainstream members.
I am not sure why this article is entiled "Is your Rabbi hot or not?" but I believe that it is raising some important questions that as beilevers we should consider.
