what is so hard to understand ? Do we want to dominate the energy industry in the future and at the same time be a healthier nation ?or do we want the oil producing middle eastern contries to be in command . the choice should be clear.
A kinder, gentler Carol Browner is backing Obama's green agenda.

I will eat an extra steak for the morons. I'm betting this woman spends a lot of time in private jets, spewing more co2 into the atmosphere in one day than I do in a year.
While you are at it, please eat 100 extra steaks. Do whatever you have to do to make that little heart of yours explode so that the responsible, intelligent people still living can more easily achieve the goals necessary for a healthy planet.
Michael - you have a line in your story "the exception is clean coal , a big Obama focus" ... even if Obama believes in something called "clean coal" ... as much as I admire him I need to saw bullcrap ... THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CLEAN COAL.
One must be a vegetarian to be truly green. Killing animals for food causes more global warming and environmental toxicity than any other destructive human activity. Veganism reduces water crises, land usage, deforestation and water, land and air pollution.
Pretty & crunchy, eh? Does that mean TOUGH? Your article, Michael, managed to diss the lioness and Bill Clinton (leering photo of 'the liar lionzz' and the 'czarina') as well as your readers & Newsweek (Gore as well). Is the czarina single? Silly, but your readers... you know. "Tall, slender, browner... well?
This a leditor to the Ed, but I find no other e-means to do it. So, I'm greener (technically), even if she is browner.

Harry Potter's Voldemort is called "He who must not be named."
It's Harold Rumpole who calls his wife "She who must be obeyed," alluding sarcastically to the full title of H. Rider Haggard's novel usually known simply as "She" (1887).

I consider the following line absolutely stunning:
"Though she lives a mile from her office next to the White House, she walks to work every day "
Carol Browner is an apparently healthy woman in her early 50's ... roughly the same age I am. I also live in a big city (New York), and unless there is inclement weather I would not even dream of NOT walking a distance under a mile. At a moderate pace (NOT a power walk), it is a 20-minute stroll. In fact when I had a job three blocks from Newsweek headquarters, I walked a mile and a half each way, each day! It is by far the most pleasant way to travel through an interesting city such as mine or Carol Browner's. I cannot believe that someone such as Mr. Hirsh, who presumably lives or at least works in Washington, would find it such an astounding distance for someone to walk!!!!!
