I???ve tried to watch his show but I can only do it once or twice a week. I find myself, from time to time, trying to figure out what drives him. Is it conservatism or is it blind loyalty to party or maybe there is a progressive just dying to come out and surprise us all.

But this morning I figured it out, he's a caricature of a buffoon???not an actual buffoon but a caricature of one.

He knows, in his mind, how the memos make the United States appear internationally, he knows that these guys are going to jail too, he knows that there is no way that torture can be justified and the biggest point of all is he knows his argument is devoid of reason.

A true buffoon would defend the policy, but he acts honestly, not knowing any better.

But in this case, he is a make believe buffoon, he knows his position is unsustainable, but he clings to it and then uses his notoriety to try to convince others through bravado and innuendo, by personally insulting those that disagree with him. His arguments are clownish because they have no foundation in sound law. He knows the question is not the efficacy of the policy, the question is was it legal or illegal.

He falls back to his normal attack position, regardless of the facts.

Every aspect of this case is contrary to his current position, he hopes to convince others through fear and coercion, but this time nobody is listening.

Joe Scarborough is a clown, people like him are a bigger danger than Al Qaeda. They are a virus that eats away at sound, reasoned, honest debate. People like him force this country to fight with one hand tied behind its back. By having political fights when the evidence is so clear borders on treason, he forces us to fight on two fronts and that is a waste of time and resources.

No one in their right mind (and that's you, Seth Coulter-Walls) would confuse what transpires weekdays on Morning Joe with "substance." Mika's father, Zbig put it best: Joe is "stunningly superficial" and not just about a few things, but everything. I grow weary of Mika's mealy-mouthed, "fraidy-mouse" performance and long for guests who have the gumption to tell Joe to shut up and learn something. Morning Joe is something to watch in the wee hours when insomnia haunts (it starts at 4 a.m. in my neck of the woods) and you're waiting for the alarm clock to sound. The best part of Morning Joe? When Tamron Hall picks up the coverage with the real morning news.

I'm still hanging with Morning Joe, turned off all MSNBC evening shows back in June. Would someone please tell Keith O that the Democrats won and are running the country now? I don't think he knows.

There is so little that Keith Odormann does know. He can't back to the ESPN because they don't want him.

They should call the show, TOKEN JOE. Almost everyone else on the show is a extreme left wing liberal. The entire show is just a sounding board for the CFR (like that is for moderate America) and their agenda. I have never seen so many CFR members and offspring appearing on one program before.

    • Posted By: Janann @ 04/20/2009 7:58:45 AM

TOKEN Joe ?? One of the main speakers at the CPAC Convention????? Spare me, please, Joe is connected at the hip with Pat Buchanan ---- Those two over talking Buffons control the show and its contents - I just love how both of these hypocritial cowards spend half the show worrying about the defense of a country they made an active decision NOT to serve.

Pinnochio Joe's show is in Washington for one simple reason,,,,, he takes his orders from the National Republican Party, and he is doing it well.

If Joe wasn't a Republican Schill, he would have the courage (something he cleary lacks) he would do what he expects Democrats to do, he would have the courage to attack the Limbaugh Bimbaughs and Beck's Buffoons who constantly "Mis-inform" the Public daily.

A good start would be a correction on the Georgetown issue that has been proven a bold faced Lie.

  • Posted By: Janann @ 04/20/2009 7:48:20 AM

Pinnochio Joe is Schill for the Republican Party - His Buffoon like interrupting of anyone who disagrees with him and his connected at the hip friend Pat Buchanan speaks volumes about the show. By 6:05, I am able to identify "Exactly" the subjects for the day on Conservative Talk Radio --- that would be the three Stooge College Drop Out Heroes of talk Rush, Glenn and Sean.

I enjoy Morning Joe. I love the open takes of Joe and the gang. I adore Pat B. and I am a Dem. However, I want more MJ. I leave for work at 7:30am and I miss those crazy takes between Willie and Joe or Mika. I watch the web takes, but it is not the same. So, MSNBC, cut the 2nd Keith at 10pm and replace with the best takes of the MJ show daily. I am stick of watch 2 angry Keiths, Bush is gone and maybe it time for Keith to go..at the 10pm. Give the evening crew a cup of Joe and will come back for more.

    • Posted By: tpratt @ 04/17/2009 4:50:42 PM

It's funny how it works out, I consider myself to be a pretty moderate Dem these days, but somehow Pat B. has become one of my favorite political pundits on TV.

MSNBC is blocked on my TV. Much like MTV and BET. Too much crap being shoveled out wraped in a thin skin of news. MSNBC lost me during the election in which they had a clear choice for the leader of the free world. They went way way too far! Joe needs to get the heck off that channel!

    • Posted By: tpratt @ 04/17/2009 4:48:33 PM

and FOX news didn't? I'm just saying ;)

  • Posted By: tpratt @ 04/17/2009 4:47:20 PM

I have to say, after trying out just about every morning news program out there, Morning Joe was the only one that was light hearted, (without being corny like Fox's morning show) and still had true serious discussion (which which you don't get with HLN or CNN) But the author hit it right on the mark, the middle of the road approach and the idealogical unpredictibility is what drives me back to Morning Joe day after day, keep up the good work guys!

I get the big four on cable in four stations in a row, so switching through all of them I get the gist of the daily rants.
Which is really all it is. there are no solutions, just jibber-jabber, and spotlighting favored items.
Apparently, none of Joe's "answers" had much of an impact while in office. This Olbermann character is a joke, and although good at the canard he foists on the public, he is just that.
Fox is so contrived, it should win an emmy for redundant plagiarism.
Robin & Co. is insipid, and vacuaous, no awards!
If Joe would quit the whine, I would take him more seriously.

I stopped watching this show about 4 months ago when it became apparent he was going the way of all the other Republicans and using his time in the lime light to push a political agenda instead of reporting the truth. After catching him stretching the truth a couple of times? I stopped watching.

    • Posted By: Rocky2001 @ 04/16/2009 1:04:42 PM

So did you stop watching Prez Obama when he was "stretching the truth"?

  • Posted By: crimson00king @ 04/16/2009 6:20:45 AM

I am so sick of this whinning little girl scout Joe Scarborough. What a spoiled childish acting fool wannabee congressman. The only problem they don't want him. Hey Joe quit crying about the poor poor rich that may have to pay their fair share. It is high time and If you were real Americans you would pay your taxes and ask is there anymore I could do. Joe you wouldn't make a pimple on Olbermanns butt. Joe maybe you Ditto headrush Limpburger can leave N.Y. and go to Florida where there are no taxes. Mika can handle the show on her own. Joe you can take your butt pirate buddy willie with you..

Obama is not even a Christian. He wouldn't know a Christian if one came up to him and slapped him in the face. Obama is stupid , he's a liar , he does not know how to conduct himself among foreign leaders...he's an amateur. Obama is a corrupt thug community organizer from Chicago and thats all he's good for.
The Vatican does not recognize Obama and the Vatican has turned away at least five picks by Obama for US Envoy to the Vatican. In other words Obama is a real ***.

I love morning Joe and am an every-morning viewer. The presentation of both sides of the fence (liberal and conservative) on issues is what draws me back time and time again. I must admit, I am addicted. Go Joe!!

I watched Morning Joe religiously during the run up to the election. But the week before the election, Scarborough did a 180 and the vitriole thrown at Obama blindsided his loyal viewers. Since then, he's become this whiney, pathetic revisionist and, for the life of me, I can't figure out what happened to that edgy, rational young man. Sad thing to watch, a guy who wants to be a politician once more. Get him off the air.

I used to watch Morning Joe but I've migrated back to Sportscenter in the morning. I find the conversation a bit too chaotic for that early in the moring. Too many folks talking at the same time, it gets to be too much. You got Mika's cell phone going off on the air...c'mon folks. And Joe is a bit too condecending and a bit of a smart alec. Nothing worse than rich, famous people on TV berading the President who is trying to help middle class Americans who find themselves teetering on the brink of poverty. I think I'll just check last night scores on a different network while eating breakfast.

I used to watch this show but I've come to the determination that the conversttion is way too chaotic for that early in the morning. And I kind of find Joe (and the rest of them) to be a bit condecending and out of touch with common people in this country. Nothing worse than famous rich people on TV constantly berading the President for trying to help everyday middle class Americans teetering on the brink of poverty. I'm back on Sportscenter now.

I have never been one to enjoy anything before 7 a.m., but I actually WANT to get up earlier than that to watch "Morning Joe". I am a middle aged female, a state legislator, moderately conservative and I am sick of so much demagoguery from the left and the right. Joe Scarborough gets it right! I love the serious discussion with different points of view. The rest of MSNBC pretty much blows, however.

The circular shooting gallery that is the Matrix Media consists nearly exclusively of vaccum-sealed ideologies that are shared by all of the participants. NEWSWEAK for example, will rely upon reports from the AP or MSNBC,which in turn lifts these from CNN,that goes to the NEW YORKER or VANITY FAIR, which goes back to sources from the New York Times which gets theirs from the Washington Post, which in turn gets theirs from the AP,which is lifted by MSNBC.[Hence, the odd spectacle last week of 200 differant American newspapers all running as lede on the same day [Apr. 07,2009] stories on health care gleaned by the AP which is not always known for veritas these days. They get their marching orders from the WH working through Gibbs, Emmanuel, Axelrod, and possibly, Obama himself, who remains lionized by most of not all of the major print journalists including Evan Thomas and Mike Isikoff and Mike Hirsh and Eleanor Clift of NEWSWEAK, Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post, Bob Hebert,EJ Dionne, ''Pinch'' Sulzberger and Bill Keller of the NY Times,Helen Thomas, Joe Coneson, the grossly partisan Cynthia Tucker and the strange subspecies of blogger ''reporters'' including Markos from DAILY KOS, and HUFFINGTON POST scribblers who have been given ''credentials'' as bonafide WH ''press corps'' members.
Thus you get identical ''news'' from this media, which raises the ridiculous :[ no fewer than eight major news services including NEWSWEAK, the AP,NY TImes,Washington Post,CNN,MSNBC,ABC,and CBS finding themselves nailed by a ANNENBERG ''Factcheck'' which found that,no, Palin never ''ordered the banning of books at the Wasilla library'' nor did she ban these ''rape kits''],and downplays or ignores the more salient. [Operation BOARD GAMES, the Blago-Chicago Machine political scandal that is only being looked at now by NEWSWEAK because they got their man into the Oval Office, and may now return to being phony arbiters of journalistic ''balance''].
Thus as O'Reilly on his FACTOR has tried this new tack of ''even-handedness'',allowing opposing voices to be heard on his show, his ratings skyrocket, lifting all boats in the ''even-handed'' news department, leaving the red meat conservative bombast to Hannity, while Joe,for his portion, plays the same game at MSNBC,leaving the bomb-throwing to his fellows Olbermann and Matthews.[The Amazonian Rachel Maddow is not much of a factor here,as her shows needle is always pointed to the ''Left'' side of the scale, and thus preaches to the choir]. Missing here are the ''Crossfire'' -style days when liberal and conservative lions [including the late, great William F. Buckley],would slug it out on the issues of the day. News ''punditry'' thus has become more monochromatic in its ideological offerings , making the FACTOR and ''Morning Joe'' the bigs on the block.

As usual, Lee, if you don't understand that Fox News is as big an echo chamber or bigger than the liberal media outlets you despise, your commentary is about as valuable as a wooden nickel. I'm waiting for the point at which you finally wake up and realize that Fox News' CEO is Richard Nixon's old campaign manager.

      • Posted By: Lee Holmes @ 04/13/2009 3:42:15 PM

Nonsense. If you are forced to name the singular FOX,then your assertions are already in trouble. [as is this dunderheaded ''Fairness Doctrine'' schtick]. Take MSNBC for instance. These ran an entire 13-15 minute segment on punning these ''tea parties'' giving journalism a rest for say,as long as these shows have been aired [Rachel Maddow].
O'Reilly, love or hate the man,has the eminantly good sense to move on selecting no end of subjects on which to discuss or critique, using voices from the left, centre, and right in order to make his case. Olbermann will have none of this, using echo-chamber nodding and agreeing personages which makes for rather flat ratings,as evidenced by the month of Marchs' NIELSEN Ratings on both shows. Joe is lifting pages from O'Reilly, instead of Hannity. Indeed, the whole original MSNBC lineup save HARDBALL,was a lift from the popular FOX news/opinion programs, while CNNs Beck was to be an O'Reilly copy in and of itself. Besides, you are working a tired rubric anyway. If liberals are viewed as ''traitors'' ,then conservatives are viewed as ''racists''. Thus ''genuinely moderate''liberals would also have a use on cable news as well. They remain to be seen, however, with viewers having to endure the ideological cookie-cutter Schusters, O'Donnells,Matthews,Olbermanns,Maddows,Coopers,Mitchells,Browns and others.
