So long as Chrisitians, and the church, continue to support permissive gun ownership and protect the excessive profiteering of the arms industry, they, as well as everyone else, share the pain and guilt of wanton killing. The moral issue of the right to life begins with restricting weapons that murder. Gun control is the primary moral issue in the world today. We have a government that is controlled by the ballot, not the bullet. Too much of the church is used as a pulpit for promoting political agendas that have no relationship to the Sermon on the Mount which is the vision that Jesus had for humanity.

Unfortunately for those who would blame Columbine on the freedom to own guns, this freedom is guaranteed in the Constitution. And for a good reason. As Aristotle said, "like tyranny, like oligarchy, neither trust the people so they strip them of their arms".Total governmetn control of arms won't guarantee the end of Columbine style trajediies. Americans have had private arms for 200 years or longer, and it only been fairly recently that these types of trajedies have become commonplace. This suggest the problem may lay elsewhere.. Our forefathers specifically warned that our constitution was made for a God fearing and moral people, maybe the root of the problem is that the public school system only teaches in one world view, secular atheism, whose creation myth suggest that we are mere animals and there is no real basis for morals. History has shown us that governments can also become immoral and kill children, so taking away the people guns and giving them all to the police and army may prove unwise.

Is it really possible that people can still be this naive and ignorant? If you think for one minute that gun control is going to stop these twisted people who want to kill, then when they ban the guns you had better build a fortress and lock the doors. Because otherwise you will, most likely, be the fool standing in the middle of the street thinking you're safe when the shooting starts. I have 7 kids and everyone of them has been trained to safely handle and shoot a gun since age 5. That does NOT mean they are going to go to school and kill someone. But it does mean that if someone breaks into this house they had better be prepared. As I stated in an earlier post, I am not an extremely religious person. So my comments are not based on Christianity, but on the constitution and the bill of rights. And I am also realistic enough to know that the psychos will always have guns no matter what kind of laws are put into place. Do you really think that if you ban guns the law breakers are going to just stop what they're doing and miraculously become law abiding citizens? If you do then you are as crazy as they are.

I am sick and tired of this thing being about god. I'm not justifying anything these animals did, but they didn't kill people because of their belief in god.

Morning after shootings a fellow classmate who was best friends of the boys said '..they where sick & tired of the wiggers. All the girls where attracted to them. They got all the attention. They picked on us!' Honestly don't remember the boys name but it was on one of those big three morning shows. It was live and as soon as the boy said that they cut the feed, knowbody said a word afterwards. Many of us feel the sameway, to see a boys, w/ pants pull down to reveal underwear sticking up and out. Saw 3 beautiful blond bomshell girls hanging around ith 3 kids wearing cloths like this, whats happening to US? WHY? Yes to go & kill is bad, but isn't this also slow death of our morrals? Gone is white boy!

    • Posted By: jimmizee0328 @ 04/19/2009 9:49:15 AM

I could not agree more. the morals in our society have degraded to point of insanity. While I'm not sure the use of the term "wiggers" was appropriate, I do think the point was valid. But this is not a race issue. it is white kids, black kids and kids of all races who have no class, no manners, NO RESPECT and no morals. Anyone with any sense knows that the problem started with inner city blacks. But it has spread to the point where it is now society as a whole. This problem and many other are being propagated by the liberal views of the teachers in our grade schools all the way through the colleges. The "anything goes" attitude has to stop! Recently my teenage daughter got sick early one morning at school. The first question she was asked by the secretary at school when she asked to go home was "are you pregnant?". This speaks volumes as to the mindset of the people who teach our kids. Not only should this not have been the first thought in her mind, it should have been the very last thought! Even in the early 80's when I was in high school, that question would never have been asked. And if it had been asked it would have been brought to the parents in private. Not thrown out in public as if it was normal! If we assume our kids are going to be bad they will. We must teach our children to be good people and have respect. We can not do this by making bad behavior the expected result.

Father, because I know that words are powerful, and that you are ALL POWERFUL, I use Your powerful word to speak life and blessing over all who are hurting. The emotionally hurt, the ones who have SECRET internal issues and are afraid to talk to YOU or anyone else about them because for whatever reason, they don't trust anything or anyone. So Father, I stand in he gap for those who have issues that causes them to want to distribute hate and sad feelings because of the hate and sadness that dwells deep inside of them. Father, I know from personal experience that you can't give what you don't have, so I'm asking you to do for others what you've done for me; that You take away pain, and give your perfect peace to all that read this message, that you touch their hearts in such a way that they would know without a shadow of doubt that it was YOU who did it for them. I pray Father, that you change what's on the inside, so that something greater shows up on the outside. You Are GOD, and you bless whom ever You want to bless, You show MERCY to whom ever You want to show Mercy, so I ask you now to prick the hearts of all that read this, especially those who have issues with believing in You, and do it in such a way Father that it causes them to chase after you for the rest of their lives. I thank You in advance for doing Father, and it is so, In JESUS Name, Amen!!!

Judge and he shall be judged? Turn the other cheek? I tell ya what when the religious nuts actually learn how to exist in the world and abide by there own rules then I may come to God

Still, Marxhausen might have survived the Columbine tragedy with his job intact were it not for his continued relationship with the Klebolds???and his very public support of them. After Dylan's funeral, he described the killer's parents as "the loneliest people on the planet" to The Denver Post. "That's where I think I started getting in trouble with my church," says Marxhausen. "I was becoming somewhat toxic with my visibility and extrovertedness."

Why do you say Religous nuts ? You will meet your maker and you will be judged.I will pray for you.

Faith, Fear and the Wages of Columbine
By Matthew Philips and Lisa Miller
    Apr 11, 2009
From the magazine issue dated Apr 20, 2009
Mr. Philips and Mrs. Miller, would you please find away to pass this letter on to the two pastors in the article that is reference above.

    Dear Pastor,
First allow me to thank you for your service to the people of God. Hurt is a dangerous thing that can damage the greatest of people. Columbine was a tragedy that hurt many all over the nation and was left with the question ???How could God allow something like this to happen??? go unanswered. To this day that question remains unanswered from many pulpits across America. It is not that we as Pastors refuse to answer but it is one that is very hard and almost impossible to answer.

After reading this article my heart went out to both of you not just because two of my fellow brethren have left the service of God but God. It was more so because of the lack of us as brethren that did not come to your aide. We as pastor have need of others coming to our aide in our times of despair. I have never meet either of you but I would like to take this moment to say a few words that I hope will bring some amount of peace to a troubling situation.

There are something we will never be able to answer are know until the day of Jesus??? return. It is God???s love that at times like these He carries us through our storms in a preparation period for the next level. As the elect of God we must go through storms in our life that brings us to our breaking point that we made gain control over an area in our life that will damage us severely in the next level.
We have to remember the words of Jesus to Peter ???the devil desires to sift you like wheat???. The reason behind this is to find out if you really believe what you say you believe. Our ultimate goal is to reach the place that Paul reached and say, ???I know now in whom I have believed???. Some storms and preparations come just to shake our faith and bring us to a place where we must stand and trust God while doing nothing. There are also those storms and moments of preparations that require us to deal with things from our past that we have suppressed and refused to deal with and take it to God. In all of this it is the way we go from faith to faith and glory to glory. If we never go through these things we could never help those who will experience the same thing at some point in their lifetime. Just know that when these moments come they will be harder and more profound than what they may experience because we need to be ready for the worst.

There is nothing that I can possibly that will bring comfort but please consider these words as God continue to prepare you for the next level. My pray is that God completes the work He has begun in you. I look forward to meeting you at the appointed time. God bless and keep you.

Thank you Mrs. Miller and Mr. Philips for this opportunity to write this letter.

Klebold and Harris were spoiled, anti-social, and psychopathic. Once in a great while, two such personalities find each other, feed off each other's extreme narcissism, and then society pays the price for their lack of human development. Evil? In my mind, "yes". Society is always unprepared to stare true evil in the face. As for the taunts, ostracism, etc. - some personalities go out of their way to seek attention, positive or negative, any kind will do -- then moan about the attention they receive. All part of their self-absorption. The ONLY ones responsible for their behavior was them. The rest is just picking at scabs 10 years after the fact.

  • Posted By: RealityCheckToday @ 04/19/2009 10:17:16 AM

I think the people that wrote this article need to do more research. Those two didn't up and decide one day that it would be a party to just go to school and kill a bunch of kids. If Dylan would have been of that mind set he wouldn't have ended himself. The reason why this happened was because the good "Godfairing" kids that are needing spiritual guidance now couldn't be descent human beings and let the strange kids at school alone. Even though it was the wrong way for it to be handled those two boys lashed out at the kids hurting them physically and mentally every single day. Maybe teens will learn they can't treat people how ever they want with out consequences now.

"The kind of white, evangelical christianity"? Sweeping the country at the time? Only the American liberal press could get away with that kind of journalism...I could get mad, but you know, I think I'll just have a good lalugh.....

He died on a cross for your sins and mine; I pray that someday nightponderer you can see that before it's too late. Jesus is real and he has risen. He loves you and He is waiting for you to let him in your life and if you let him in you will be richly blessed.

There is a simple problem that appears in other mass shootings, Subliminal Distraction. Both shooters were said to be mentally ill but they were exhibiting symptoms of Subliminal Distraction exposure.

    This is a problem discovered and solved forty years ago.;

Office workers using new workstations began to have mental breaks. The cubicle solved that problem in offices by 1968. No one has recognized that computer use where there is movement in peripheral vision creates the "special circumstances" for this problem.

The Virginia Tech, Redlake School, Joleka Finland School, and Atlanta Day Trader shooters all had this problem. Evidence for these four is in news reports and interviews of police. The Columbine shooting facts were sealed. There is no information except for the symptoms of depression, paranoia and thoughts of suicide to connect this shooting to Subliminal Distraction,

No one in their right mind plans and executes such a mass killing..

You see, you give two people press coverage, and they try to convey thier point...AGAIN! If people didn't listen the first time, or before them... they certainly wont in the future.

  • Posted By: nightponderer @ 04/19/2009 10:06:35 AM

Spouting scripture does nothing. This supposed mythical jesus figure did the same... in the end he was hung on a cross. Go figure.

However it's Know God.... no problems.

  • Posted By: gbwooden @ 04/19/2009 10:05:11 AM

You can also use the equation: KNOW GOD=KNOW PROBLEMS. People who believe in God--and not just believe, but make God the center of their faith and hope--suffer the same problems common to all humanity. Whether or not you believe in God, time and chance happen to all.

  • Posted By: nightponderer @ 04/19/2009 9:43:22 AM

Simple: no god = no problems; and yes it's that easy.

  • Posted By: nightponderer @ 04/19/2009 9:40:32 AM

SImple... no god, no problem, and yes it's that easy.

Unless you CHOOSE to attend a Christian school, Religion is already removed from the school system and has been for a long time. Religion did not cause this tragedy. Religion did not cause this stress in those men of faith. Becoming SELF-focused and feeling that you can control the world from within is not the way to happiness. If it were, much of the population would already be there! People would not feel like they have the power to decide who lives or dies. And clearly, as is the case in most all of these mass shootings, the shooters do not wish to be a part of this society any longer, or they would not end their own lives. It is definitely time to forgive and forget. If you hold onto all that anger, fear, confusion, frustration, and grief, then you haven't really forgiven at all. If everyone would follow the golden rule, and treat everyone else the way you would like to be treated (with love, kindness, forgiveness, and trust) as God tells us to do, then no one would feel like they HAD to go out and harm other people because they would feel loved, cared for, and respected. How long will it be until we LEARN from these tragedies? How long until we CHANGE our actions? We have all the information we need to fix society, and yes, it came from God. What are we waiting for?

The tragedy of Colombine is never forgotten, just recorded in the hearts and minds of those who were involved. May we all learn well from what happened there. God alone holds the key to unlock that mystery of pain, sorrow and triumph over evil.

We must remove religion from politics and schools. The role of our schools is to edugate in tangible subjects such as maths, languages ,sciences and also the arts which is as far as it should go in relation to rationals.
History shows us when religions enter the spectrum it confuses and misguides the rational thinking of people and is more profound in influencing our youge people who are trying to get to grips with the chemisrty changes within their bodies and the effect of this in their behaviours. In my opinion all religious teachings should be cut from school curriculems and all pastors removed from school systems and back
to thier churches and a total hands off approach from education in all practical and worldly subjects. Religion is a killer in our society and should not be encouraged. We are in a world of great scientific and technological advances and this is where are childrens focus should be streamed towards. I fear that until this cancer is cut out of society these events will continue. Look inword for you truths and you may well find your inspiration which may be your inner self " Consience is your God". Look to science and you will indeed realise how wonderful nature is and that we are all connected to it. When we feel this connection maybe our yearnings for somethings greater than ourselves will ease away and a move peaceful and connected world will emerge.

If there were more people in the world who thought like you, we would have "Colombines" happening every day! while I am not an exremely religious person, I do realize that without religion you are left with no guidance in your life. If a student wants to pray in school let him.her do it. You say "conscience is you God". I would submit that without religion you have no conscience. Of course there are extremists everywhere. We have extremist muslims and extremist christians.. This will never change. But it seems that atheists are the most extreme. The atheists, much like the muslims, tend to think that if you believe in anything more than a faithless society you should have no right to express that view. No 10 commandments in plain view, no prayer in schools, no mention of Christmas and so on. However, it is fine for you/them to express your point of view, or lack thereof any time you chose to do so. I tend to believe that religion is often used as a crutch. But some people need crutches to walk. And without their crutches they fall. I would also submit to you that your "science" is your crutch. Let those of us, including the children continue to pray and believe in God. In return we will allow you to continue to go through life clueless. You have that right just as we have the right to believe in God. Without guidance many more kids are going to die of a disease known as stupidity.
