Between the two ministers, I feel that Marxhausen was the true man of God.

It is a dangerous, slippery slope you go down when you criticize / condem someone's spiritual practice because in doing so, you open the door for someone else to have the right to criticize and condem yours.

I am a very liberal follower of the teachings of Christ - who taught 1 thing - unconditional love of all mankind no matter who they are or what they do.

If nothing else was learned from Columbine, that unconditional love should have been.
The Harris' and Klebolds not only went through the pain of losing a child, but ostracism & no doubt, some level of guilt as well. Their sons were not evil - just misguided, confused kids who made a horrific decision regarding their final act on earth. They deserve all the love & support in the world.

I guess i'm illinformed. I thought it was in retaliation for treatment by bullies.

Children who fell through cracks, they didn't do well in school, teachers didn't pay attantion to them and they were bullied. At least one didn't have a good support system waiting at home, and the other's home didn't reach out to the friend. They were able to get hold of the guns to easily, the school didn't care. Richies for yea, I'm from Arvada, just north of Columbine.

I do NOT understand your comment..."the richies"???? I too am from Arvada, but obviously in a different world...
Columbine broke my heart...and my heart also broke for the parents and family of the victims...but I also had empathy and sympathy for the Harrisses and the Kliebolds...
We raised a grandson, who was in a Jefferson County school on that day...and it has caused me so much pain since it happened...but every time it is shown or discussed on television, we hear of another round of shooting ... if not a school, somewhere...

I agree with the other posters here who do not believe this pastor did anything wrong in trying to comfort the Kliebolds in the loss of THEIR child...and I do not believe the parents have deserved all the stuff that has been said about them...they were trying...you can read the entire report online through the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department...who also got a bum rap...no one at the time, could have handled the situation any differently...

There is no reason for these pastors to feel any shame...they only did their job...and I hope the Kliebolds were able to get some comfort at their son's funeral. My heart will continue to break over Columbine...it was a tragic, senseless, dark day...I will never forget, and I still wear my Never Forgotten pin to remind me to have some compassion...as Christ would have had for those parents...

Jesus would've been the first to reach out to Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris and their families. Rev. Marxhausen wasn't "siding" with them---he was demonstrating the love of Christ under the most difficult of circumstances.

supporting permissive gun ownership was not the problem. Murders do not occur because of the weapon murders occur because of the people behind the weapon.
