Is environmentalism still a luxury of the elite? Not in south Los Angeles.

One day for Earth is not enough. I have no idea if this is a novel idea, but on a particular blog, I found a post that questioned why we have a day that celebrates Christopher Columbus, a man who many consider a genocidal murderer. Yet we only designate one day for Mother Earth.

Progress not Congress.org (all one word) is calling for next year to be Earth Week.

Again, I have no idea if this is a novel idea (it's probably not), but I think it is something that we all need to think about.

Hmmm...wonder how she explains the rampant graffitee and littering found in nearly every Hispanic dominated city in the States? Some environmentalism. This story reeks of more multicultural, celebrate diversity crap that is being rammed down our throats -- now as a means to "go green" and keep the religion of Global Warming proprogated.

Graffiti can be ugly, but not as ugly as rampant racism, of which you seem proud, with your "crap' comment

While I may not agree with everything that libertyfirst says, there is also alot of truth in his/her comments. It's quite obvious that you instantly assume it's racism, regardless of the facts. That has become quite common for the liberal-left.

I did not bas that on any "facts", but only on this comment "multicultural, celebrate diversity crap that is being rammed down our throats"

Anyone who looks at epidemiological maps of cancer can see the patterns that follow prevailing winds which start at refineries, oil wells and certain industrial sites. In fact, you can look at the cancer map and figure out what the prevailing wind is and it's approximate velocity. It's like sailors do estimating winds by the whitecaps.

That's a crock. Diet and heredity have far more to do with it than anything else. If this woman was eating the traditional Latino diet it is almost certainly a factor in her cancer, but it is not provable either way. This green movement is being pushed from the top down by elite liberals who will reap the benefits of forcing regular people into mass transit and buying the expensive green products they will sell. They will still have their mansions and limos and the bonus of less traffic on the highways when we can't afford cars anymore. Do a little research and see who owns the green industries. The oil companies have diversified and now have it both ways. We are being taken for a big, expensive corporate ride.
