Hate groups rebranded in age of Obama

Experts are calling it the perfect storm for white supremacist recruitment: the sinking economy, the election of Barack Obama, and the increased attention to the spillover of immigrants and violence from Mexico. The Southern Poverty Law Center counts 926 active hate groups operating in the U.S., a 54 percent increase since 2000. Exact membership numbers are difficult to gauge, but experts who track hate groups say they are worried by their growing influence, especially on the Internet. NEWSWEEK reporter Eve Conant and photographer Bruce Gilden traveled with two groups on the SPLC's hate group list: the Knights Party, USA (a Ku Klux Klan association based in Arkansas, during a cosponsored event with the Christian Revival Center) and the National Socialist Movement (based in Detroit, now one of the largest neo-Nazi groups in the U.S. with nearly 70 chapters nationwide). One group consists of proud Klanspeople, the other reveres Hitler. Both reject the title "hate group."

You're not speaking how you please, you're speaking the only way you know how. Being in this country your entire life and not being able to speak properly is probably the foremost sign of stupidity. If not number 1 it's definitely tied with gold teeth and corn rows. Speaking politically, I don't need to hate Obama for being black, I'm satisfied with hating him for his blatantly socialist policies that run contrary to everything this country stands for. As far as your comment about Bush stealing the election, read your history, Bush didn't take the election to court, Gore did. OOOOPPPPSSSS!!!!

I hope I don't sound racist, because I don't think I am, but I feel like anyone who thinks that BET is a "black-run" television channel, still hasn't understood who runs it, and who determines what's played on that channel. It's still run by whites, and it's nothing they should be proud of. BET should have better quality shows that also reflect the intellect of african-americans so that maybe ingnorant white people would stop having such lowly stero-types of them. It's such a complicated issue. Bottom-line: People ARE born equal, it's society and pressures that make them appear otherwise. I just wish both sides would stop focusing on color. Black comedians need to stop pointing it out so much, and white supremacists need to just hang themselves.
