It appears the trend of complaints posted or whined here is that Obama hasdone nothing so far, Actually he probably has accomplished the most in 9 months than most American president in recent history. Here's the real story (copy freely):

1)Passed a stimulus act that pulled us back from the brink of an honest-to-God Great Depression II
2)Passed the Ledbetter act that corrected an injustice to women in employment discrimination law
3)Cut taxes for 95% of Americans (listening to Fox and tea bagging could make one forget 43% of stimulus was tax cuts!)
4)Reworked the bailout with conditions and sticks so that the banks have started repaying the TARP money Bush paid out
5)Started the process of re-regulating the banking/insurance/investment industry for the first real time since the 1930's
6)Allowed scientist and researchers pursue their life-saving craft in stem cells and brought science back to American prominence with events to honor and focus on scientists
7)Made it to the homestretch on healthcare reform other presidents have been trying to pass for 40 years
8)Seriously getting out of Iraq saving us $
9)Oversaw the killing of Al-Qaeda's top man in Pakistan and a host of other terrorist leaders
10)Got Pakistan to seriously start fighting the Taliban instead of leaving them to rule the mountains while stacking up the Indian border
11)Reworked our military budget from an ancient cold-war focus to a high-tech-focused counterinsurgency one
12)Outed Iran???s development of a second facility under previous admins watch with REAL intelligence. Working allies such as France to actually jointly lead on Iran
(13)Handled a hostage conflict giving the CIC initiative at appropriate time without ratcheting up the stakes or rhetoric resulting in the minimum casualty under the circumstances. Drove the fear of American vessels into those pirates
14)Got the politics and pressure out of the Dept of Justice
15)Dramatically modernized White House communications and technology and now changing white-house information stone-walling methods
17)Created a $2500 tuition tax credit to help shore up our woeful debt-burden on families
18)Reworked our student loan programs to cut out third party margin and waste
19)Created and started execution of plan to save our auto industry. (those screaming about 9.8% unemployment should think if GM and Chrysler had been allowed to fail and its reliant industries and dealerships. America the great with NO auto industry to aid our defense and 15% unemployment?)
20)Dramatically improved America's image abroad and rescinded un-American orders on torture
    21) Nobel Prize for Peace? Americans - international recognition for your president is your own gain and regard
    22) Health care reform farther than it ever has since Teddy Roosevelt (a Republican) iintroduced the idea
More than many did in 8 years and more working days than the past one golfed and vacationed on his ranch in 8.

Oh yeah, he has done something.....put us into TRILLIONS of dollars of debt.

      • Posted By: Fernadez @ 11/25/2009 2:48:21 PM

Get your fact RIGHT!!!!,This TRILLIONS of dollars of debt.is the payment of WARS that BUSH aint paid .YET.

      • Posted By: LMagruder @ 11/03/2009 4:28:51 AM

He almost has no choice but to spend those TRILLIONS to get us out of the mess a former president made. Have we considered that?

        • Posted By: John Dough @ 11/03/2009 9:42:41 AM

Reagan got us out of a far worse mess without borrowing trillions of dollars he cut taxes and increased government revenue threefold a concept the dems cannot imagine and revenue they could not resist spending forcing Reagan to have to compromise with them too. THE CONGRESS NEEDS to be in GOP hands or get ready for a 70% federal tax rate or economic disaster - maybe both. Oppose cap and trade with everything you have available this is a job killer and wallet killer send the dems and Obama packing.

          • Posted By: iserved @ 11/03/2009 12:07:09 PM

What are you smoking? Reagan was the start of the disaster for this country. He thought he was in a movie and playing a president. He increased the size and spending of the government while talking about how bad government is. He was an idiot president only out done by the most recent clown bush! Let's talk FACTS not talking points and we'll at least be smarter for it.

            • Posted By: charrob @ 11/03/2009 12:32:01 PM

iserved you're a liberal tool. Reagan led the longest era of peacetimr prosperity, rebuilt our military, restored our pride in America. He didn't apologize, appease, or cave in to terrorism (like Carter). How quickly did hostages return to US? It'll take another Reagan to dig us out of the hole Obama has put us in!

              • Posted By: foxxzymama @ 11/03/2009 12:47:53 PM

Seriously, this is why libs get themselves a bad rap. If facts are laid out in a statement - many times the response from a liberal is one of slander/malice or incendiary remarks that attack rather than reflect upon the statement.
Example: Host - "Three plus five equals eight".
Liberal remark: " What? Are you some kind of idiot? Only a complete moron would even consider that as a possibility...And another thing, speaking of our schools...Did you know that 9 out of 10 people agree that the war in Iraq was all for oil???..."

It is so much better to refrain from using such negative labels and adjectives. You can DISAGREE with someone's POLICIES, BELIEFS, and DECISIONS - WITHOUT - attacking that person's character. Just because I may not agree with someone does not mean I should call them names. That is so pre-school. And it does not do anything to advance one's opinion in a positive light.

I respectfully disagree with your assessment of liberals, foxxzymama. In my experience, right-wingers are just as likely, if not more so, to resort to ad hominem attacks.

I do agree with you, though, that people (_all_ people) need to be more civil to one another.

Bush cut taxes but didn't cut spending. Now we have Obama spending way more than Bush ever dreamed of. Two wrongs don't make a right

        • Posted By: John Dough @ 11/03/2009 9:38:44 AM

Remember your democrats controlled the congress under Bush everything he passed into law was passed by them first and to Bush's discredit he went along with the morons.

After the Bush administration finished its eight years President Bush presided over a $2.5 trillion increase in the public debt through 2008. In December 2007, the United States entered the longest post-World War II recession, which included a housing market correction, a subprime mortgage crisis, soaring oil prices, and a declining dollar value. In September 2008, the crisis became much more serious beginning with the government takeover of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac followed by the collapse of Lehman Brothers and a federal bailout of American International Group for $85 billion. Many economists and world governments determined that the situation became the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. In November 2008, over 500,000 jobs were lost, which marked the largest loss of jobs in the United States in 34 years. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that in the last four months of 2008, 1.9 million jobs were lost. By the end of 2008, the U.S. had lost a total of 2.6 million jobs.

You sure have a short memory, I think the Republicans controlled Congress for the first six years of the Bush "Administration."

        • Posted By: John Dough @ 11/03/2009 9:46:39 AM

I find it laughable that somehow Bush's deficit spending got us into this mess but Obama's is getting us out? How does that work? This stimulus has not created one job and supposedly saved 600K jobs mostly in government which produces nothing for the economy. The stimulkus is bad enohugh but cap and trade and the democrats health bill will destroy America as we know it turning us into Euro socialists, reducing productivity (as it has in Europe) with an unemployment rate hovering around 8% forever. Sounds great vote GOP in 2010 and anybody but Obama in 2012.

No matter what has been done it is what it is. G.W. put us in this mess first w/a war that should not have ever happened. When is the american people going to wake up!

You really did not read the article that closely did you ? 10 months in office and you like so many others still want to point fingers at past presidents for Obama's bad choices. NO the MAN did not have to spend trillions and even after he has. What has it done for this country ? (NOTHING) If you were a small time business owner, do you really think they would have gave you a free ride to keep you in business ? (NO) That is not how good business operates. Look at the General Motors situation, they went to the White House crawling and begging like the crooks they are with the promise of, if you help us we will not have to file bankruptcy. HMMMMMMMMMMMM They still filed backruptcy, yeah that was money well spent. HHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Crysler same deal, if you do not help us we will be forced to file backruptcy, HHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Millions of dollars later of tax payerss money and not only did they still file bankrupcy, but have been taken over by a foriegn indenty that plans to discontinue several of cryslers best auto lines. HOW THE HELL IS THAT BUSHES FAULT ?

        • Posted By: sarinabgood @ 11/03/2009 5:57:29 AM

Have you considered reformation? Maybe taking the money that is already involved and fixing it that way. No, let's just let it sit and there and got to waste. It's not that hard to take money from corrupt companies that don't deserve it and reconstruct this into something good. This is not simply Bush, this has been going for years now. A long time, before I was born, before you were born. We were doomed from the start of this whole party system. We all went separate ways and now everyone is too stubborn to give a dang about anyone else but themselves. People need to stand up for themselves and realize that it's our government, not the politicians to run.

You need to remember that when Clinton presided over the longest period of peace-time economic expansion in American history, which included a balanced budget and a reported federal surplus. Based on Congressional accounting rules, at the end of his presidency Clinton reported a surplus of $559 billion. - All of which raises taxes and increases the size and scope of government.

You talk about the "tea-baggers" like they are some group of bigots. But wait - I forgot - if one disagrees with Obama - he/she is considered a "racist". And since the infamous Jimmy Carter espouses such viewpoints - it MUST be true.

Is it suddenly "un-American" to exercise our RIGHT to speak our mind and expect our politicians' decisions to reflect OUR opinions? For once...

Maybe people need to wake up to the fact that the silent majority is silent no more.

You must be living in a dream world. I have several family members that have lost jobs. Believe me, the stimulus is not helping. A job for 35 hours (which is what a lot of them were) will not help anyone.

I would love to see an example of good paying, long lasting, permanent jobs being created. If you are the one out looking for this type of job - you know this stimulus is a joke.

      • Posted By: Fernadez @ 11/24/2009 7:04:15 PM

You should ask Bush and the repigs yourself and how to dismissed 350 billion in 7 days,)one trillion in 8 years for stupid wars.President Obama should, pass a war tax fast and watch the repukes call for an end to the war in future.superfast.President obama does not have to lift a finger, pass the tax and watch the rats jump off the ship.
By the way did you know that How Many European,Chinese and others, around the world lost their Job too!!!!Because an Idiot like you voted only IDIOT

Dear JRichter, are you running for some Democratic political office someplace? You sound like a lap dog for obama. I sure hope you don't think this guy deserves the Noble Peace Prize...come on now, what has he done? Nothing
And as far as a stimulus effort, anybody can give away free money to look good but if you dig down and see the net effects of his efforts you will find they are all basicaly doomed for failure. They just look good on the surface and every expert economic analyst I have listed to concurs.
I fo feel sorry for all you followers who need someone to worship.

LMAO. Redneck!! Your obliviously are mistaken, Yes I'm white, 56 year old male enlisted in the armed forces when I was 17, and served 6 yrs. I own and run a company and I'm self-educated. I also Didn't make it to the Eighth grade. I do not like war, I do not like ignorant redneck bible belt racist war whores. I do like the fact we have a concise president. I do like the fact I'm a realist, and not some two faced, follow the lord psychopath. My fight is not with Democrats or with the Republicans, It is in fact, a fight with the banking institution in this country and around the world. These are your enemies also! ???Why you ask???? Because they enslave us all! Including that great federal reserve bank. Get rid of the these whores and problem solved. The fed is an illegal institution...The IRS is an illegal institution...So before you try and berate me, better look in the mirror and ask yourself ???who am I really mad at, and what can I do???? The system of banking is designed to impoverish a nation who does not follow their rule. It wars when it wants to, it throws people in streets, it decides who lives and who dies; physically, Mentally and financially. The few dollars in your wallet are nothing more than an illusion. And you try to berate me, is an example of your own ignorance. Here; I will give you a web-site just copy and paste into your browser and if you have a few hours watch the video, Oh and try to focus. You may actually learn something, they could not teach you in school. This video is not an attack on a single group or people. It is an attack on what the populace has learned over the past 100 yrs or so. Hopefully this VIDEO will enlighten you. You will find the enemy right in your own wallet.

While I agree on your war on the Banks, I would not agree that getting rid of the Bank which serves the functions as the historical First and Second Bank of the United States respectively would be a good idea. Reserach Panic of 1837. As for unconstitutional read Alexander Hamilton's same arguemnts for the Bank of the US.

rowdie11, you did well up until you assumed uas4 went to a public school, which was an unnecessary final kick. Many have attended public education facilities and are successful, and can spell grammar. That final kick labels you as arrogant; we already knew Revolt didn't spell check. I also don't believe Revolt was on the Nobel award committee, so how does that have any bearing? Maybe Obama was awarded the Nobel because he changed the direction of the most powerful nation in the world from the bully status. He actually met with and discussed differences between our nations instead of invading them. It just a thought, but what does it really matter to you or me, it's an award and life goes on. The big deal seems to be that he got it, as did President Carter and that just bugs the hell out of some people. Get over this petty issue; it's a trophy, Congratulations! Now what else is on our schedule for the country Mr. President.

Nice comeback, very standard and upholding of a democrat who believes in a label as a way to show who they "truly" are. He did not deserve a Nobel Peace Prize, Please stop fooling yourself and using lame comebacks as an attempt to make your party and yourself look better, when you're actually making yourself look like a ignorant [as in uneducated] fool. It's a sad, sad world when you have a young American understanding the fundamentals our country was brought up on and wanting to uphold those.. Instead we have to fight through morons and immature adults who only know how to turn on a news channel and think they know everything. Go back to school, take a history course then tell me if this is really how our country is SUPPOSE to be run. Stop putting a President on a pedastool like you are working for him, he is suppose to be working for you.

You deserve all that you sow in society. your ignorance is your religious beliefs, it is a ball and chain around your necks. You really make this country a sick and miserable place to want to live. You relish in the idea the constitution was based on a religious belief when in fact it was based on the ideals of HUMANITY. You couldn't find the truth if it were stapled to your empty skulls. You are less deserving of the Constitution, then you know, You have no respect for it or what it stands for. You are ,your own tyrants and shame be upon you who call themselves AMERICAN!

Do you even know the teachings of Jesus not only Christians believe in him ,but also Muslims just not the same way.Don't trust what other people say,but read about him yourself. Do not judge lest yee be judged..

The Constitution was not based on religious ideals.. It states ???one's own creator???does not make any inference to Christians or their beliefs. I could care less about any religion, they are all WAR whores.
Imagine a world without religion. There would be nothing to fight about. Religion has destroyed Humanity.. There are countless atrocities committed in the name of your gods. So please do not tell me anything about god or Jesus, they're not my savior. As for your After-life, that Idea was stolen from the Egyptians from 4000 yr old text. Long before Jesus. So please do not respond with some type of prayer crap.

On the last day of this world as we know it, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Even the greatest atheist on his death bed will say, "What if?" Please don't close your mind, but read for yourself and see that Jesus is the son of God who gave his life for all of us. God is Love. Religion is not.

Stolen text from one culture or another to suit the needs of the oppressors IE: religious sects. In collusion with your fantastic idea of government. I don't believe any of us were on the Nobel award committee, so how does that have any bearing? Do you have someone you'd like to nominate for a Nobel? Maybe Obama was awarded the Nobel because he changed the direction of the most powerful nation in the world from the bully status. He actually met with and discussed differences between our nations instead of invading them. It just a thought, but what does it really matter to you or me, it's an award and life goes on. The big deal seems to be that he got it, as did President Carter and that just bugs the hell out of some people. Get over this petty issue; it's a trophy, Congratulations! Now what else is on our schedule for the country Mr. President.

I hope that he is not all just smoke and mirrors. I another three years I really do hope that I won't even consider voting for anyone else...but he hasn't shown enough of anything yet to be called a success. Racism can go in both directions. Those who voted for Mr. Obama simply because he was a man of color are as guilty of racism as those who voted against him for the same reason. So there it is...I don't care which way your political leanings are...but come into the 21st cetury.

    • Posted By: insertusernamehere @ 11/03/2009 11:07:26 AM

Let???s be clear and fact check your list???
      1) The stimulus bill was actually passed by the Bush Administration. Obama is just taking the credit for it
      3) Have you seen any tax cuts? Has anyone here seen any tax cuts? I didn't think so.
      4) He may have started forcing the banks to repay the TARP money but have we forgotten that it would have been paid off by now if those same banks and financial institutions hadn't paid ridiculous bonuses to their executives. Obama did nothing to stop that now did he?
      7) There is no home stretch on health care. We are in just as much of a healthcare conundrum as we have ever been. Nancy Pelosi is using her puppet Obama to further her agenda. The public option that almost every American is opposed to is back in the reform bill.
      8) I just returned from Iraq and let me tell you... We are nowhere close to getting out of Iraq. There are just as many troops in Iraq as there ever were. Hmmm somebody lied to America.
      10) Have you been watching the news lately? Pakistan is not only NOT helping us fight the Taliban, but they are trying to get us to stop using our drone aircraft in our efforts to stop the Taliban. Do they want us to risk more lives for a useless cause?
      20) Dramatically improved our image abroad? Are you serious? All he has been doing is wasting fuel jaunting around the world under the guise of Diplomatic missions. He is just happy he gets to fly around in the big boy jet. Do you have any idea how much money is used just to start up Air Force One, let alone fly it around the world. What a waste.
      21) I can't believe you brought up the Nobel Prize for peace. What a joke. Even the individuals who gave him the prize are regretting it now.
      22) The only thing Teddy Roosevelt did was put us further in debt and create government programs that made the American people dependant on the government. Way to go!! If we hadn't gotten into World War II we would have plummeted into a depression worse than the first one because the government was running out of money and couldn't afford to keep up the government welfare programs that we still insist are needed today.
I will give it to you that Obama has done a few things however do not make him out to be the amazing hero that people think he is. The decisions he has made are simply a drop in the bucket to what he should be doing. For instance, has he made a decision on the troop increase? No he has not. As a senator all he did was vote present when it came time to vote. That is the definition of an indecisive person and yet now we expect him to make the life altering, world changing decisions of someone who runs the country. Give me a break. We don't have a president; we have a child pretending to be president.

      • Posted By: jimbom @ 11/03/2009 12:11:33 PM

Oh where to start on yor "facts"
        1. TARP was passed by Bush, not the stimulus plan
        3. The tax cuts have included a credit on the individual and family standard deductions, small business loans, 1st time home buyers, AMT relief for middle income earners, increase in the child tax credit, unemployment income, college tuition...shall I go on?
        4. There were no provisions put in the TARP legislation regarding bonuses...was that Obama's fault? Not a whole lot he can do, but he did restrict bonuses this year on the banks that have not paid back the TARP money.
        7. Poll afet poll shows a 70% support for a public option...I guess 30% equals amost every American...you may want to check yor math
8, Troop levels have decreased from 160k to 130k since January, with only 55k scheduled to be deployed in 2011
        10. Pakistan has never been helpful...they cam close to civil war last year, and have provided almost no help in finding Bin Laden, who by all accounts is probably in Pakistan. Perhaps if we had focused on Afgan instead of Iraq, this may not be an issue
        20. Going into Iraq killed our image abroad. We need to do anything to bring it back up. We can't fight terrorism alone.
        21. The Nobel prize is a non-issue, but precident had already been set.
        22. Get your facts straight...FDR started social security and medicare, not Teddy. And you are right WW2 did help us get out of the depression. SS & MC are a safety net because like today, banks can't be trusted to be good stewards of people's savings

And he did increase troops in Afgan earlier in the year, but before we add more troops, I believe that a deep review is needed. Sending soldiers into harms way shoudl NEVER be a quick decision.

It took 8 years to wreck the economy, it will take more than a few months to bring it back.

        • Posted By: baldrad @ 11/03/2009 10:41:51 PM

The economy was already in big trouble, jimbom--the real estate bubble (we can discuss how it came into being later) just disguised all the problems. We can't have the entitlement society we have without hitting the wall sooner or later.

      • Posted By: iserved @ 11/03/2009 12:00:33 PM

Your user name should be "insert-non-facts-here" Just to fix a few of your opinions stated as facts:
        1) Obama tracked and documented where his 350 billion went, they have no record of the bush 350 billion, so it will never be seen again. Some of the money Obama loaned has been repaid, can't say that for bush.
        3) Bush cut taxes while invading a country and going to war with another, a first in history. The largest tax cuts were given to those who didn't need them, ask Buffet. There can't be any more tax cuts; bush gave them all while running the bank dry. What you don't admit, or don't know is that these issues were seen by the bush administration but they chose NOT to deal with them early. They just let it snowball.
        4) He has stopped the institutes that borrowed money from the TARP funds to stop the outrageous bonuses and salaries. Now, will that get through congress, will republicans help or just sit around with their thumbs in their ass?
        7) Just wtf are you listening to that you don't know that a MAJORITY of Americans want universal or at least a strong public option on the health care bill? Turn off fux non-news and rush "I've been punked!" limpballs and get some facts into your diet of garbage.
That's enough for today, school is out!

        • Posted By: sg0406 @ 11/03/2009 12:34:25 PM

Are you serious...okay so what you just came back from iraq who put you over there in the first place...oh right Bush and Why are were we there in the first place?...He has been in office for 9 months and he as accomplished alot. But be honest even if he had solved every single issue that we had you would still have a problem with him. Get over it and deal with it He is the President ane will be for the next 4 years so suck it up like everyone else did through the Bush Administration...

          • Posted By: insertusernamehere @ 11/03/2009 5:21:13 PM

            1) Really and exactly where is that 350 billion. I would like to know exactly where it went. Can you answer that? Can anyone. When you find me an answer then you may not sound so ignorant. Just because someone says they tracked money doesn't mean they did. WAKE UP!!!!!!
            3) I agree with you Bush was a terrible president and should have never invaded Iraq however that doesn't make Obama a saint. Yes Bush ignored many problems and Obama recognized them but that is all he has done. He has done nothing but blame the past administration which may be true but problems don't get fixed by blaming others. Either fix them or stop complaining about them.
            7) You must be insane to believe that honest hardworking Americans want a public option in their health care. Of course the ignorant trailer trash welfare population wants a public option because that would mean they don't have to pretend to work anymore. Yes most honest Americans want better health care yet they are not willing to sacrafice their freedoms for some public government run option. I think you should go back to school. It amazes me how someone can be so incredibly foolish about things that not only affect their lives but the lives of their children. Way to ruin everyones future with your ignorance.

Maybe your parents cannot pay for your schooling bcase they live beyond their means. Do they both have nice cars? A beautiful house ad how much debt do they have in loans and credit cards. this is why we cannot afford things because we rely to much on credit and have more out in credit than we can actually pay back in a small amount of time. Do they have a savings account? Did they plan on college costs by opening a college accont like i did? I fought for my country and lost my hip so your parents can cointinue to have what they do. I planned by payung myself and my child's college account first in my budget and then looked at what I could realistically afford from there. Did your parents do this?

I will even go one better for you, it really is not your parents' responsibility to help you go to school. What are you doing to get yourslf into school. Community college is affordable. Even if only taken one or two classes at a time.

You talk about saving money, and not spending wastfully, you mean just like our government? I can't think of any ways to waste more money then they do. Overspending is sadly associated with our govt. Too many people expect our govt. to support them, how about looking out for yourself? While some programs are in place to help people who want a hand up, so many people are there abusing these programs. There should be better safe guards in place to keep people from living there lifes depending on the govt. Maybe we should figure out some programs to teach skills that will advance a person,

This mess wasn't created over night and it won't be fixed over night. The president is making decisions based on the advice of top economists. I trust that whatever decision they make is done after a lot of deliberation and consideration and is what they believe is in the best interest of the country as a whole.

Funny I havnt seen a tax cut. Is spending more money than any president in history a tax cut. Thats like me putting 5000 in the bank and saying I have savings but maxing out my credit card.

JRichter: What are you smoking? Do you really believe all that or are you paid to write that stuff? And the Nobel Peace Prize: Surely that was tongue-in-cheek. He was in office only days when he was nominated and 3 of the 5 Judges voted against him. It was all political so he'd keep 'giving' We the People's money. It's amazing that people actually believe what you wrote. But, then again, that's why we have a president with a Marxist agenda - because Kool-Aid drinkers voted for him because they believed his teleprompter.

"3)Cut taxes for 95% of Americans (listening to Fox and tea bagging could make one forget 43% of stimulus was tax cuts!)"....

Really? 95% of Americans have gotten a tax cut since Januray? Really? 95%??? Nice "facts" dude! I thought your post wast supposed to tell the "real story"... HA!!!! 95%? Oh...really?

      • Posted By: Imanut @ 11/03/2009 11:16:48 AM

So you realize that for every car on the Clunkers program that saved a consumer $4500, we as a people paid $26,000 for? Where did the other 21,500 go? This is what you call tax cuts? This is blind spending so people can secure their jobs, because we still have yet to pay for all this. Tax cuts for a few months to get bent over later is not a true cut.

    • Posted By: laobserver @ 11/03/2009 10:02:49 AM

JRichter. You forgot something. Where are the JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!. My business and my life savings are melting. So what does your 22 points of questionable rhetoric have to do with JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!????

      • Posted By: Fortunate Fox @ 11/03/2009 10:32:09 AM

"So what does your 22 points of questionable rhetoric have to do with JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!????"

Those 22 points are pointless and incorrect rhetoric. America is still losing a half million jobs a month! Obama had said unemployment wouldn't go over 9 percent, but said yesterday we will continue to lose jobs in the months to come. Unemployment is headed for over 10 percent and higher, with real unemployment (unemployment figures do not add in those whose unemployment benefits have run out but have not found a job) is at over 15 percent. He stated that if anyone had any ideas that would aid recovery, he would be glad to hear them.

What? He said all during the election that he had the answers. Obviously he doesn't if he's asking for help from the public.

JRichter - You are absolutely correct. Unfortunately, as subsequent posts will confirm, hard right wing lemmings have absolutely no interest in truth or facts. Instead, they will believe the bile spewed by the pathetic attention-whore likes of Beck, Limbaugh and Coulter, because it's much easier than independent thinking and it's much, much easier than admitting they've been wrong all these years.

You will now see subsequent posts that will now proceed to attack me, you and anyone else who has the temerity to threaten the tenuous bubble that is the right wing delusion with the scary prospect of rational thought.

    Republican approval ratings?

Maybe the media know that even the Dogs are not interested perharps!

  • Posted By: astro_man @ 11/17/2009 4:22:48 PM

First: (to an earlier poster who actually probably won't even read this) If you go to the Politifact website, you'll see that of the 241 rated Obama promises, he's only broken 7. That's about 3% of the promises. There are 16 promises showcased in the article and one, or 6%, of them is listed as broken. So the broken rate is overrepresented twofold in this article. If it favors anyone, it's not the President. Put 16 more non-broken promises into this article and that'll level the playing field.

Second: According to the same website, here's the stats of some other people. Boehner tells the truth 4/13 times. Glenn Beck tells the truth 0/8 times. Pelosi tells the truth 1/5 times. Palin tells the truth 7-12/30 times. Limbaugh tells the truth 0-1/8 times. And Bono apparently never tells the truth.

Third: 54 of the 241 rated Obama promises have been kept. Most of the others are "in the works."

Obama can handle his Presidency, if only the rest of the world and his nation will step aside and get out of his way and let him work on what he needs to work on. I do know this. I do pray above all else that he stays safe.

    • Posted By: sarinabgood @ 11/04/2009 1:21:36 AM

No one is in his way, he is the gosh darn president. If he wants to do something, he can.. so why isn't he? That's the real questions. I like how on here it said "In progress" for almost every single thing that he had promised the American people, when really, half of that crap is no where near started including the healthcare issue. I think we have bigger fish to fry like the god dang war overseas that's about to just wipe out our entire population because we're pissing off neighboring countries. Why are we in 119 countries as of this day, why are we world police? If Obama wants this country to LAST through his presidency he should probably start worrying about bigger issues.

      • Posted By: BugsyParis @ 11/11/2009 10:35:11 AM

Well said Vigilance (no sarcasm), sarinabgood has not been keeping up the times. The GOP has changed and a long with them the media. The DNC has always had a rainbow of political philosphies, with a majority LIberal rule. That has been declining, but the President must comprommise even with his own party on occasion.

      • Posted By: Vigilance @ 11/04/2009 8:57:25 AM

"If he wants to do something, he can.. so why isn't he?"

If you really believe American Presidential power is this unlimited, no wonder the GOP is in trouble. No, the President does not have unlimited power. It would help if you learned that. It would have helped us all if Bush had, certainly.

  • Posted By: oneiris @ 11/04/2009 10:18:56 AM

No. It would appear that he has continued to campaign after winning the election. It would be nice if he would start to be the President (and do what is best for our free Nation IE keep us safe and free) 100% of the time instead of thinking about his posturing. And what is with all the zars? Who are they and what is there background. This admin scares me. Democrat or Republican makes no difference they are both the same. Since the Republicans have gotten so left leaning...What is the difference? Both seem to want Big Government which in my opinion needs to be smaller not bigger. Iris

    • Posted By: BugsyParis @ 11/11/2009 10:31:42 AM

Ooo, oneiris, you seem Libertarian, don't worry the Conservatives in the GOP will push you out along with the moderates and Liberals in thier party.

        • Posted By: DrewCAENG @ 11/04/2009 6:22:55 PM

Get overt the open ended campaign slogans. McCain's Slogan was "country first" if he was president right now I doubt people would be holding him to his campaign slogans. Lets try looking at the facts. Many things have turned around, USA world Standing, most major economic indicators, many things have stayed sh*tty, war, unemployment, gov, waste, big corporate lobby etc.. but then again the guy hasn't been in office very long and he had 8 years of garbage to sift through. Maybe only a fool would focus on campaign slogans NonFool?

          • Posted By: NonFool @ 11/05/2009 2:30:59 AM

DrewCaeng - My question was "After reading comments here (regardless of opinions, but with the disparagement as evidence) can anyone say we have been brought together" .... can you ??? This was a big selling point with people I knew who supported Obama. We're divided as ever.

            • Posted By: BugsyParis @ 11/11/2009 10:29:12 AM

You can blame GOP leadership for that along with FNC.

I don't know why all the disappointments; I'm happy I voted for him. Finally the DNc is going the right direction; away from socialism. As for promises, I hate when critics say that. No promises were made, simply were established. It makes the guy look like a liar and he's not. I think he's finally taking the reins of the party from Speaker Pelosi after almost a year.

  • Posted By: ok4u @ 11/08/2009 5:41:13 PM

Someone has said promises are like piecrusts, easily broken. But it was fun to be naive for awhile, wasn't it? Hope and change indeed.

  • Posted By: access @ 11/08/2009 4:33:11 PM

If I had known then what I know now about the real Obama, I would not have voted for him. He is a big disappointment. Nothing meaningful has changed. The whole Democratic party with a few exceptions, are a bunch of disappointments.

I will remain an independent and vote third party or not vote. I refuse to be apart of a charade.

I believe our greatest asset as a nation is to pray for those in authority. I beleive the President is doing the best he can. Whether that is the best to be done is another question. But if the heart of the king is in the hands of the Lord we have a responsiblilty to Pray for Wisdon Knowledge and Revelation so God can direct his path. The Spite between liberals and conservatives alike is simply ridiculous every one enjoys pointing the finger it seems. We are dealing with people, individuals, GOds Children and somewhow I believe we have lost site of that. I ask that everyone seriously examine themselves and do everything within there scope of influence to make this Country and their Community a safehaven of hope and prosperity. Never neglect the facts but strive to make the truth prevelant and evident in this country. Lets do our part and this country will indeed be restored!!!!! The Truth of God's Word through Christ will set this country Free, Again!!!!! To all God Bless!!!

Good idea to respect others, work and hope for a better world. However not all of us are religious, so putting faith in God may not get us there (Church/State must remain separate). Thanks for you blessing, though.

It appears the health care package has a chance with the House - despite much of congress not having even read what's in the nearly 2000 page monster. As it has been repeatedly pointed out, it is disturbing that waste, fraud and incompetence haven't been remotely addressed. Also, if the bill is passed, Obama's desire to have government single-payer insurance will eventually come to fruition. People should fear single payer for many reasons, including government control. Also, France and Canada are in trouble with it, with Canada trying to get insurers back into the system. When the insurers here are phased out through attrition, Obama will both have his way and won't have to take the blame for the insurance companies demise. Obama's claim that you can keep the insurance you have is correct for the moment, which is all he needs to get it passed. However everyone will eventually be phased into the government plan, which will naturally put the insurers out of business. If the insurers aren't there, you can't "keep what you have", but once again that won't matter once the bill is passed.

And by the way, Obama and some leading democrats have stated their position on single payer and how they plan to get there all along:

Factsearcher - (good idea for people to search out the facts). How can we unite with issues if we disagree with the proposed solutions. Obama can't unite his own party e.g. Blue Dogs. I'v heard Blue Dogs criticized by Air America & other Dems. These Blues represent mostly the desires/opinions of their voters (as it should be in representative gov't).

  • Posted By: factsearcher @ 11/05/2009 9:54:53 AM

Has Obama being keeping his promises?
Not all and not yet. In 365 days in office he has merely paddle enough to barely keep the economy afloat...still in the process.... but what is holding him back?
The answer was given by sarinabgood in a post below: one thing he hasnt accomplished is uniting both parties for a common goal.
Let me point the obvious.... it cannot be achieved with only one side willing to unite or conveniently choosing to unite when the press is around.
Our society has chosen to basicaly take sides and blindly follow the leader instead of uniting and arguing for what's worth arguing and fighting for and leaving the rest behind.
We have chosen to talk but not walk the talk.
It most be frustarating for any administration, to listen to whining and complaining all day long but at the time to cast the vote which truly benefits the american people...at the time to take actions... crickets, crickets...you can hear the silence....
Shame on each and everyone of us who has such a big mouth....but in reality don't do the walk.
We all knew, as soon as we were shaken by the Wall street debacle, that the road ahead was not going to be easy....understood. But a US divided is a weak US... and unfortunately that's were we stand right now.
You want the perfect example? Read some postings below where they try to point out who did this and who did that and who's to blame...yea yea the blame game.
