The president promised a lot. A check on how’s he’s delivered so far.

Presidents and promises have been comrades since the birth of our nation. Sometimes, the vows have been bold: Lyndon B. Johnson pledged to eliminate poverty in his 1964 State of the Union Address. Obviously, that didn't happen. Other times, the promises have been mostly fulfilled, as when Roosevelt announced his iconic New Deal. Throughout the recent presidential campaign, President Obama made more than 500 promises to our nation, according to PolitiFact, a service from the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times that assesses the truth behind politicians' statements. After Obama's first 100 days in office, we check in with PolitiFact to see how the new president is doing.

As a Combat Veteran I have said to get more troops in Afghanistan when we started the whole thing. The country is too big for what we had at the time. We raid villages and the guys you want all flea. As soon as you leave they go back. When I was there ,once you left a village with the amount of guys we had there was no possible way we could've gone back to those same villages and not keep bounding forward.unless there was a good source of intelligence. What we learned was the village "elders" kept there mouth shut. The rule of the land is more powerful then us. With more of us there I think we will keep them in check.
Will we solve the problem? probably not. Al Qaeda is all over the world. Afghanistan is just unclaimed territory so its a place for them to take over. Its a religious war and it sucks. Their spirituality is more powerful then politics. Unless we get some sort of income for them as allies to the US so they can live better then what they were living. I don't think these National forces we are training have a reason strong enough to fight and keep order. Which means we will never leave. I think the Afghans need incentive to fight for. Right now fear takes over, when we are gone they fear what what will happen to them. If we pull out then all the Americans an allies that lost there lives would have no cause. We shouldn't go against it. I think we are to divided as a country and need something to unite us as One. Instead of worrying about Tiger Woods we should all be pitching in. I bet if we had a draft someone will come up with a real answer to all this a lot quicker.
Yeah the economy sucks and we are going through our own war here with each other. Maybe if we all worked together we could take back this country. It's not fair for our military to take on multiple tours while people here are collecting unemployment. There are jobs in the military and these service men and woman need a break. Its not the president It's our stupid mentality. For the complainers get up and do something. Lets stop buying *** from overseas because it costs less, and start supporting American again. For the Unions take a freakin' pay cut so its affordable for our people. example: Metro North Railroad a reliable source was getting paid 70,000 a year to sit in an office and open a bridge for boats MAYBE once a day if not less. If no one called in she left her post went home and still got paid for 'being there". America stop being so *** greedy. Whatever happened to that WW2 generation where everyone sacrificed for the war. Thats the only war we succeeded since. All because we worked together.

Get your facts straight. The recession that Regan inherited wasn't even close to the level of the one we were in.
