    .......................Both of the Bushes were Dangerous Desperadoes, they were a negative influence on life in America during the last 30 years, we would be much better off if we were able to alter history and write both of them out along with all that they have done.

    Bullshit article. Demonstrates the absolute lack of intelligence of Bush and his advisors.

  • Posted By: BernieO @ 06/27/2009 6:54:48 AM

    Why is it that the fact that the first Bush administration signaled Saddam on at least three occasions that we did not care what he didbo in regards to Kuwait is always disappeared?

    Our ambassador to Kuwait, April Glaspie, was personally asked by Saddam, our ally at the time, what our position on his border dispute with Kuwait was. She told him, per instructions, that we did not have one. State Department spokesperson, Margaret Tutweiller told the media that we had no obligation to defend Kuwait - a message Saddam clearly heard. Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney did say we would oppose Saddam but was forced by the administration to retract his statement. All this happened as Saddam was massing his troops on the Kuwait border, so we knew he was serious about attacking Kuwait.. The fact that he bothered to ask us if we cared about it is proof that Saddam's invasion of Kuwait was clearly not an indication of hostility towards us.

    We frequently hear discussion about whether FDR could have prevented Pearl Harbor, yet the public is never told by our media or historians that both Gulf Wars could have easily been prevented. Bin Laden attacked us because we had troops stationed in Saudi Arabia as a consequence of the first Gulf War. If we had averted that war there would have been no 9/11 or the subsequent wars with Iraq and Afghanistan.

    The American public deserves to know these facts. I am sure the rest of the world does.

    In the end it is not intelligence that is the measure of a man but how he uses it. There is nothing more hazardous than empowered intellect unrestrained by wisdom. This article illustrates a stark contrast between the two presidents regarding this topic.

      Extremely bottom line I like it but also lends to a genocide Regime of zero tolerance. If you removed giving them Nuclear capability it would not be far fetched but you are scaring the straights.

      Nuclear arms if the hands of fanatics would be akin to leaving Jeffery Dommer alone in a room with someone and closing the door touting; you know they will be ok. Later you could deny fault

          Look the internal strife the Turks are something to be respected and admired they would be a brutal force to have to contend with if it was just them, the Arabs are the same.

          They agree not to have Nuclear weapons because they know themselves and also in the thousands of years of their history they have also ended up with hundreds of disposed monarchs. Princes abound who will never set a throne unless they have the ability to take the power even the internal strife of a Nuclear War would be destructive. As History has taught us the world is their battle ground the hate with in the religions of the same order strong and zero tolerance of any outside religions.

            You are totally wrong on Both facts,ether the about the Turks or the Chinese,You'll never want to accept someone's else differences of cultures.Let me Explains first,The chinese are never known Practce of Democracy,You have to respect that, through their 3,000 Years Histroy.They never cast a Vote to select their Leaders that base by Head Counts But onlyknow through by Head-Chops.(not till recently) so dont Wsh for sometihng that you'll be regrets teachng them about democracy values.About the Turks ,Let me explain to you,There are serious indications that Israel and American-xxxish organizations are no longer willing to support Turkey's lobbying efforts in Washington.

            The dispute between the two strategic allies began with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan harshly denouncing Israel's incursion into Gaza and accusing the xxxish state of committing crimes against humanity. He suggested that Israel be barred from the United Nations as mass demonstrations were held throughout Turkey with banners that read: "Gaza will be a grave for Israel" and "Put Israel on trial for war crimes." Israel's Consul General in Istanbul, Mordehai Amihai, told Milliyet that the consulate received hundreds of anti-Semitic e-mails every day during the fighting in Gaza.

            Initially, Israeli officials expressed their displeasure through diplomatic channels. But as the anti-Israel rhetoric intensified, Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister publicly warned Turkey that Tel Aviv might retaliate by acknowledging the Armenian Genocide. Last week, Israel's Prime Minister Olmert invited the leaders of France, Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic to dinner in Jerusalem after their summit meeting in nearby Egypt. Significantly, Turkey's President Abdullah Gul, who also had attended the summit, was excluded from the dinner.

            American-xxxish organizations, which had for years supported Turkey's denialist agenda on the Armenian Genocide in the U.S. Congress, were highly incensed by the Turkish condemnations of Israel. The American xxxish Committee sent a letter to Erdogan on January 8, to express its "grave concern over recent official statements" by Turkey's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. On January 21, a second letter was sent to Erdogan, this time signed by five leading American-xxxish organizations, expressing their "profound concern over the current wave of anti-Semitic manifestations in Turkey."

            In their joint letter, the American xxxish Committee, Anti-Defamation League, B'nai B'rith International, Conference of Presidents of Major American xxxish Organizations, and xxxish Institute for National Security Affairs complained about "gravely distressing" recent incidents: "Protestors besieging the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul have expressed their hatred of xxxs. Billboards around Istanbul are full of anti-xxxish propaganda posters.

              Thank you I always enjoy more knowledge, enlighten is always well received.

              You have taken what I said about China out of context if you would do me a favor and please re-read what I posted thank you.

              You also detailed the very bases of an argument against the support of nuclear armament better then I could ever have, again thank you.

              So I contend to add a few these are the reasons why they should not have nuclear capabilities.

              This is a debate of David and Goliath that is if David lost me being David of course and I really have enjoyed it. Now if you could present your information to your self with the no nuke thing it would be neat!

        Another REASON why America chose Which enemy of War Convience!!!!.A country with no NUCLEAR POWER.
        Just magine on this Acton By another Super NUCLEAR Power nation below.

        China accused the US of double standards after the US navy fired a missile to destroy a failed satellite 150 miles above the Pacific.
        Beijing, which was criticised by the US and others when it shot down one of its own satellites last year, turned the tables on the Bush administration after this morning's space shot.

        "The United States, the world's top space power, has often accused other countries of vigorously developing military space technology, but faced with the Chinese-Russian proposal to restrict space armaments, it runs in fear from what it claimed to love,"
        China stresses that it has consistently advocated the peaceful development of outer space and it opposes the arming of space and military competition in space,"

        The satellite was 500 miles above the Earth's surface. The explosion created a cloud of debris in space, adding to the amount of "space junk" circling the Earth.

        Hans Kristensen, a weapons expert at the Federation of American Scientists, says that while it has been assumed that China was working to develop such capabilities, the satellite strike still surprised him.

        "I was surprised that they were able to do it," Kristensen says.

        U.S. officials say the Chinese hit the satellite with the help of a medium-range ballistic missile ??? most likely the DF-21.

        A satellite is a fairly small thing to hit with a missile.

          A War of convenience, when was the last time the loss of life was convenient?

          We are not attacking anyone because they are not nuclear enabled our government was on the verge of war with Russia for years if you go back in history you would find out how many time it came really close. As for China before the borrowed Stimulus monies we already owed them so much they could have financial destroyed our county at a whim, and they are only in what was our Industrial era, China is fascinating to say the least. They may even prove that a Democratic society is not the only route to success.

          Why we can not allow the nuclear weapons to be a balancer of power is more a testament to an ideology and how they would be used. For that take a look first how a few small counties cost the lives of 97,000,000 lives only in WWII then estimate the genocidal nature of the people you want to give access to nuclear arms. Now also figure in the estimated life's of the people they already have killed over the last 4000 years in a month they could double the figure.

          Its not that we attack them because they are not nuclear armed, we attack them to prevent them from potential creating a world crisis.

          The Satellite downing I heard of it but haven't read into it deeply but I will guarantee it was not just for sport. What you failed to mention the satellite the US shot down what was its power source did they say? As for 500 miles above Earth look to the night sky the falling stars are amazing Meteorites are the stew of our creation, space junk also rains on us all the time. Do you want really big chunks streaking across our skies and hitting the ground or would a bunch of spectacular little ones, which mostly burn up?

          His assessment at Chinas ability to hit the satellite is great they share our capabilities of accuracy and should be testament to the World???s respect for China as a super power. What you failed to included in your reasoning was the Russian nukes of the cold war were designed to be lobed at an enemy make'em strong enough get'em close enough, jobs done! The US then could land the nuke with in a few square feet and has Chinas ability now to drop a satellite from orbit. Here lies the problem when you launch something into the atmosphere which has the same potential trajectory as a nuclear attack you should warn people; what if ours or another country misreads a nuclear powers launch?

    most people just been clone Bush at this new Administration !......

    • Posted By: earthorbitsthesun @ 05/13/2009 4:58:42 AM

      Huh? Oh I get it real quick here President Obama is a clone of Or first president the his predecessor. They manage our Government and Country and World affairs based on decisions made by every previous President good or bad, based on the laws of Congress and the United States Constitution.

      Well it can keep going but just to keep it simple they are managing a really big McDonalds and have to buy all of McDonalds, cups, napkins and so forth, their people have certain ways they can dress and act and the Manager/owner answers to the Corporate headquarters and also needs permission to even change the straws to a different type. But can deal with the customers anyway he wants with in the boundaries of what the corporation approves.

      And just like a McDonalds if he dinks up he goes out of business!

        wow I really need to slow down when I type President Obama is a clone of our first President as well as his predecessor is what it was to say

    There are some questions that should be answered precisely before moving forword in right direction:
    1) What are the main consquences of these 02 wars, Iraq & Afghanistan in future?
    Destabilization of these 02 states. The cultivation of opium at large scale in Afghanistan. The current strong wave of insurgency in Iraq, Afghanistan and now in Pakistan. How the world is facing these tremendous challenges? Is there any visible wining position?
    2)
    Wether Diplomacy, the WINING OF HEARTS AND MINDS that has great echo in now a days, is depicting in policies?
    3)
    The issues, problems related to Iraq are enormous; the destabilization, the damaged infrastructure, health care, economy, the rising of insurgency, as well as in Afghanistan.
    Wether our efforts, solemly efforts with hard earned money and modest lives are going to escaping the Humanity from disastrous or worsening the situation?
    I think the current administration not just move on the previous information of Mr. Bush era but refocus the whole situation so that the Humanity must escape from fear, danger, and lived with freedom, cooperation.

    • Posted By: earthorbitsthesun @ 05/11/2009 10:23:29 PM

      I have to agree pulling out would once again would fuel the Destabilization this part off the world has always faced. They already have an infrastructure in place The League of Arab States once again it is easier to use the WIKIPEDIA;

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_League

      If I could call your attention to the WIKIPEDIA sections; Governance and also Comparisons with other organizations are a few of what may be many problems with the structure and short comings of the endeavor. They are so close to a solution to their problems would it not be apparent the world needs to come together and ratify The League of Arab States. As a world offer the significant resources of its collective mind to structure a viable solution to its short comings?

      As it stands now I could not even come up with a number though I???m sure it is huge, on how many lives have been lost and the monetary expenditures, all for the world???s need of oil. What is worse is the oil is running out, see the WIKIPEDIA again (I really like the source). The section Estimated Reserves in order, Summary of Reserve data 2008.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oil_reserves

      If you think the problems in this part of the world are bad now the escalation maybe within our life times but well within our children???s and definitely their children.

      So can we, should we withdraw in my mind no, solutions The League of Arab States may be one, even a partial of a whole.

      Also since I find no solution what???s so ever for the use of a deity to commit crimes against humanity I can not even begin to broach the subject beyond here.

      Sorry about any ??? I Author in MS word and can not see them until after it is posted?

    The question most important question is whether a US withdrawl from Iraq will increase or decrease violence. If it doen't decrease violence it will not help the Iraqi people to build their own nation. A recent poll on www.olivetreenews.com indicated that a large majority belives a withdrawl of US troops will increase the level of violence.

  • Posted By: earthorbitsthesun @ 05/08/2009 10:06:58 PM

    I am amazed at the power of propaganda and the ease in which people are manipulated to the point of blind obedience. To save myself some space please read the definition of "Propaganda" as defined by WIKIPEDIA;

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda

    As for the media, Newsweek and MSNBC and several others if we were Psychological Warfare students should be required sources for any dissertation. Personally I like Newsweek???s articles and posts and watch MSNBC for no other reason but for the amusement and scope of the misinformation. How can anyone who is on the internet be so inclined to be lead so easily by the press are you dumb or just lazy?

    Just a few observations;

    WWI Germany and the pacts being made were ignored by the world until it was too late;
    WWII once again Germany and the pacts being made by the Nazi party were ignored by the world until too late;

    Military Deaths 25,282,100
    Civilian Deaths 41,753,400
    Jewish Holocaust Deaths 5,752,400
    Total Deaths 72,754,900

    The breakdown of the numbers can be found here I have only given the final tallies;

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II_casualties

    No one knows for sure why Hitler decided to change his doctrine of Mein Kampf and commit Genocide but take a look at these links or do your own research try Hitler, Nazi???s Arabs and Muslim and Mein Kampf;

    http://www.cdn-friends-icej.ca/medigest/may00/arabnazi.html
    http://www.eretzyisroel.org/~jkatz/missed.html

    No, not all Muslims follow the teachings of Mein Kampf but if you read the links Saddam Hussein grew up with a big portrait of Hitler hanging on his family???s wall and openly idolized Joseph Stalin. Now if you really want to know what we are doing in Iraq fallow this link;

    http://civilliberty.about.com/od/internationalhumanrights/p/saddam_hussein.htm

    The truth is we allowed and backed Saddam Hussein to commit Genocide to the tune of what 500,000+ men women and children for the oil? As for every half wit who has decided the war in Iraq is only about the oil if you read the link above you would realize the power of propaganda.

    I do find it sad it has cost the world thousands of good men and women to contain this festering sore but the cost could exceed that of WWI and WWII if these counties manage to become Nuclear. This genocide needs to be stopped by any means and President Bush was the man who was challenged, not since Pearl Harbor has a president had to answer such a call my hat is off to him he is a hero!

  • Posted By: Tivoli1 @ 05/06/2009 5:16:44 PM

    Again, another accomplice to the tragedy that has been this war. You claim you knew all along this was a terrible idea...yet never said anything to the President and his staff. Never truly FOUGHT to get the truth to the American people. How many more of these shameful accounts of cowardice must the American people read? You knew- you kept your silence. Perhaps the people you should be speaking directly to are the mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, and children of the casualties of war. Do you think you could have stopped it? You keep asking that question, to yourselves perhaps, but now publically. We, the American people know: You could have and you didn't. End of story. Stop talking about.

  • Posted By: McBushWhacked @ 05/06/2009 8:39:07 AM

    Is Jr. really so smart? Obviously he's not mentally handicapped, but "smart" is an exaggeration. Even the local gas station attendant can read people and tie their shoe laces. With the President of the US, we want, expect and need someone with something more than common sense.
    Rational discussion should have been employed instead of gut instinct. Everyone knows why the W administration went to Iraq, it was an easy sell to the American public. Any thread of plausibility was stretched and used out of proportion. The idea was to bring democracy to Iraq and set up a strong alliance in the Middle East.

    Fair enough, but as have been proven beyond doubt, the administration had absolutely no plans whatsoever as to what to do in the aftermath of "mission accomplished." Bremer's decision to layoff most of the military was a monumental mistake, and here we see once again that the decision to go along with Bremer's suggestion was made spontaneously through gut instinct.

    There are abundant facts showing the ineptitude throughout the invasion including torture, non-reaction during the initial Iraqi riots, not securing the ammunition posts throughout Iraq, losing a few hundred thousand weapons and so forth. And the biggest mistake of all was allowing Bin Laden to escape Afghanistan in order to liberate Iraq.

    There are numerous other mistakes made by the last president that jeopardize the current and future stability in the US and around the world. This is the true legacy that Bush and Cheney has left us with.

    May 03, 2009 01:19 PM ET

    By Paul Bedard, Washington Whispers

    Rep. Charlie Rangel, Congress's lone champion of reinstating the military draft, can count on another Korean War-era vet for support: Republican James Baker, a soldier in the Reagan and Bush administrations. Baker, secretary of state during the first Gulf War, visited a private girls' school in Virginia, where he was asked how to attract kids into some kind of service that gives them a stake in the country's future. "This is a very unpopular thing that I am about to say," he warned. "But one thing that makes it harder to go to war is to have a draft, because when you have a draft, then everybody's got a stake in it, and the costs of war are brought home much more vividly and vigorously to the American people. I think national service is a wonderful idea." But unlikely, he conceded: "You get killed if you support a draft, politically, but it sure would raise the stakes. Everybody would understand a lot better what we have at stake when we go to war."

    So much for the Bushs' let's revise history tour. It's as if they thought the use of diplomacy was a trap.
    Quite a contrast in demeanor between father and son. To think that George, had at his disposal, his greatest resource, his father and didn't bother.

    In '91 wat we did was right. We all knew the real reason [OIL], but that was just one. It was executed successfully, but we did not go far enough. The gassing of the Kurds, the use of Iraqi choppers, was an event we may have prevented. The Shia uprising, and the murder of thousands...in the most recent conflict, there was no "post Baghdad" plan. It was utter chaos, and I believe the invasion of Iraq was imminent after 9/11. The war we HAD to fight, as opposed to the war we CHOSE to fight, and are STILL fighting. Wat happens when US combat forces leave? I bet back to sqaure 1. A civil war between Sunni & Shia, involving the stable Kurdish north. The whole region is now DESTABILIZED. Nice play, Dubya. [CHENEY]

    Cheap and ridiculous .Viewed through the lenses of a bigoted racist and fascist proponent of colonialism and imperialism, this drivel certainly seems to be rational and even just.
    Those who speak of the invasion of Iraq had better take, if they can, afresh look at the History book. Sense of decorum of George Bush ! God! That guy must be fit for a lunatic asylum.
    And even if we should admit, which we may well do, that there was indeed an Iraqi aggression, what about the endless pages of Yankee aggression ever since they genocided the Natives and stole their land.
