Get off it, ya freaks. We're at war. We tortured a few mass murderers to save decent Americans. And the torture was Disney Land compared to what those savages would do to captured Americans.

A couple of apropos quotes from Ann Coulter. That's right! Ann Coulter!: "Liberals become indignant when you question their patriotism, but simultaneously work overtime to give terrorists a cushion for the next attack and laugh at dumb Americans who love their country and hate the enemy." AND this beaute: "Usually the nonsense liberals spout is kind of cute, but in wartime their instinctive idiocy is life-threatening." AND finally, I love this one: "While the form of treachery varies slightly from case to case, liberals always manage to take the position that most undermines American security." Go, Ann! Go, America! Down with the nanny state! Down with liberal fascism!

If torture actually provided reliable information then I would agree with you. The problem is that from the inquisition through the Salem witch trials we have seen that people will say anything to get the torture to stop. Ali Soufran (FBI Special Agent now intelligence consultant) helped to gain most of the information prior to the torture. Read additional information on interrogation techniques to provide relevant comments rather than just spouting odd comments from ann Coulter.

Ann Coulter is the sexy. Is huge hands, is huge adams apple. Is make Uday all short of the breath.

    Candidate Obama Feb.13,2008:

''The trials are too important to be held in a flawed military commission [tribunal] system that has failed to convict anyone since the 9/11 attacks and is embroiled with legal challenges''

President Obama May 15,2009: '' Military Tribunals To Commence''.

    Change You Can Believe In.........

''They mislead us all the time''

Nancy Pelosi [D-Ca] House Speaker May 15,2009

But they [being the CIA] didn't ''mislead''you when you stood on the floor of the House in September of 2004 wielding CIA documents that found ''no link'' with Saddams Iraq and Niger in trying to acquire ''yellowcake uranium'' using these to whip Bush.
Heh. The hand that feeds is attached to the teeth that bite. Hence Pelosis already dumbstruck performance before the Washington Press Corps that is making her look more and more guilty, dishonest, and confused in what is now becoming the fight of her political life. One would immediately think that there is no surpise in the Cheneys and Gingrichs beating up on her, but when the second banana Steny Hoyer [D-Md] drops anchor on you and parks a shiv in your back, and when former friend and Democrat CIA Director Leon Panetta whips out the long knives then you know your in trouble, with the old ''Rove frog-march'' now replaced by the new Washington Post [May 15,2009] ''Pelosi crab walk''. The chief irony here,is that the Vader faction headed up by Cheney is beating the bejeezus out of the Democrat wannabe Jedis, who are actually the Sith in disguise, creating the now-famous ''deer-in-headlights'' look being increasingly adopted by Pelosi who ''stammered'' and ''fumbled through'' this mornings presser whereupon she laid the above egg that commences this missive.

Obama is making our country weaker and weaker every time he tries to show how bad our past leaders were. Exposing our secrets and methods by which we obtain critical information does nothing for our already tarnished image. He seems to think that other countries will start playing by the rules just because we do. I think not!!! All it does is give them the upper hand because they know we're not willing to do what ever it take to keep our country safe. Obama thinks that either the american people, or the terrorist harboring countries are stupid. Well, he was right on one count, he got elected...

"Exposing our secrets and methods by which we obtain critical information does nothing for our already tarnished image. "

What a load of crap. What critical information can you get by torturing someone who has been detained for months or years?

      • Posted By: Bryan078 @ 05/13/2009 11:52:01 AM

Whether or not there is any proof of critical information, or whether critical information was gained through these techniques, Obama's actions have done nothing but weaken our ability to interrogate. Attacking a past administration and publicizing formerly classified memos only continues Obama's campaign tactics of deflecting everything to Bush. A change in policy is the only action worth taking, everything else is for show. What Obama must be overlooking is the fact that no terrorist will divulge any information to our interrogators from this point forward, because they know they are in no danger. The line has been publicly drawn and made known for all, and that does not help us in any way.

      • Posted By: John Dough @ 05/09/2009 11:01:55 AM

Nineteen terrorist strikes against the U.S. were stopped during the Bush Administration. These attacks take years of planning and testing our weaknesses before they are executed. The information to stop these attacks came from those interrogated, from phone and e-mail intercepts. All the things you loathe while Obama slowly takes federal control of every aspect of American freedom. After all he doesn't want to waste a good crisis. GOP in 2010!!!!!

    • Posted By: freecitizen @ 05/10/2009 12:51:18 PM

Obama hasn't revealed a single thing the world didn't already know chapter and verse. The ONLY people on the planet remotely surprised where to dim witted folks who STILL believe there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

  • Posted By: jshmoe77 @ 05/11/2009 8:31:08 PM

If the CIA's interogation methods stopped even one terrorist act then keep on water boarding. Those methods are what provide the liberal's freedom to whine all day about every little thing. It's good to be progressive but people need to snap back to reality and realize freedom and liberty come at a price when you have nations like North Korea, Iran and many others threatening to blow us up every other day. Thank god for those in the military willing to sacrifice so much so the rest of us can sleep at night. God Bless America.

    • Posted By: freecitizen @ 05/12/2009 2:15:15 AM

North Korea is NOT a threat OUR freedom nor are the Iranians. The REAL threat to ur fredom is our own cowardice and lack of courage to live by our Constitution. The minute we turn our fate over to a bunch of lawless thugs because we're AFRAID of North Korea we are done for as a nation of free people. There is nor such thing as the land of the free if your are also the home of the brave and THAT has nothing to do with your willingness to kill or torture other people.

      • Posted By: Bryan078 @ 05/12/2009 5:22:49 PM

Quit living in your bubble. I did not feel threatened in the least bit to find out that known terrorists were waterboarded in an effort to stop attacks against Americans. I actually felt safer knowing that. And if you think that North Korea and Iran are not potential threats to us, why do you think everyone cares so much about what they are doing? Do you think it's just for fun?

        • Posted By: freecitizen @ 05/12/2009 9:20:15 PM

You know come to think of it I'm feeling a bit threatened by the Christian rightl. Hopefully Obama does too and I hope he commences waterboarding some of those folks to extract whatever terrorist thoughts they might be harboring. Look what happened in Oaklahoma City, It just goes to show you that you can't trust white Christians.

As for North Korea, "everyone" doesn't care and the people that do are in it for the money mostly. Chances are YOU don't know ANYTHING about North Korea you haven't been spoon fed by the same folks building us all them drones and cruise missiles.

          • Posted By: Bryan078 @ 05/13/2009 9:26:29 AM

"As for North Korea, "everyone" doesn't care and the people that do are in it for the money mostly."

If by that you mean our defense leaders and others who get paid to keep America and its interests safe, then ok. Just beacuse North Korea hasn't yet developed a missile that can hit U.S. soil does not mean they do not have the capability to reach some of our allies, or some of our bases in other countries on the other side of the world. I suppose you think they should be able to have fun over there on the other side of the world as long as you are out of harms way, but that's not how everyone feels.

can anydody remember the last time they actually heard North Korea THREATEN tp blow us up?

  • Posted By: Californiac @ 05/12/2009 7:16:53 PM

So much for the claims that valuable intelligence was produced by torturing detainees... if it were true, the CIA wouldn't have destroyed the best evidence to back up their otherwise unverifiable assertions.

  • Posted By: YOUSOCRAZY @ 05/12/2009 11:23:18 AM

As usual the only parts of the constitution that are written in granite are the ones pertaining to the geneva convention, but clearly there should be a light speed move to ammend all constitutional law that does not allow for the world shatteringly important gay marriage, abortion, removal of all borders and of course free medical care for all who for whatever reason that could never be their own fault hold a freakin' job for 1/10 of their lives!

  • Posted By: freecitizen @ 05/12/2009 2:29:38 AM

Come on folks show some respect for the folks who lived fought and died after taking an oath to "defend the constitution of thre united states agains't all enemies foreign anf domestic. Muster up just enough common decency and courage to accept the risk of living as a free people.

I went to war for this nation and the least you can do is to show some respect for my brothers in arms who didn't come back by doing your part to defend this nation, its constituion and its laws from the thugs who have disgraced us. If we are too cowardly to pass this tradition on intact to our children we don't deserve the name American.

  • Posted By: drewand @ 05/11/2009 3:22:54 PM

This country is morally bancrupt. We have leaders who go against the constitution and international law and we can't bring them to justice because the republicans won't coperate on new programs with the Obama administration. Politics sucks!!

  • Posted By: Lee Holmes @ 05/06/2009 6:52:22 PM

Hmm. Looks like Sheldon is going to be looking for a new House Speaker. The GOP has the Dems by the throat and they know it,hence the post -Isikoff ''tamping down'' of any new investigations,as the GOP already has Rockefeller,Harman, Graham, and Pelosi lined up in their crosshairs. Whitehouse is a far leftwinged partisan and seeks only a grandstand. Thus moderates, who fear a Pelosi-less vaccum in the House leadership, are backing away from even a ''truth commission'' which will end up just like the 9/11 mess. The suction will not only drag in Bush administration officials, but Democrats going back as far as Clinton with his Richard Clarke-invented ''extraordinary rendition'' [resulting in torture] into the cauldron. al Qaeda will be the last man standing and thus free to move about the cabin. Thus in getting rid of these techinques and exposing those involved, Americans like Whitehouse will be able to die like gentlemen. But they will be just as dead....

"The GOP has the Dems by the throat"

      LOL.

      • Posted By: Lee Holmes @ 05/11/2009 1:15:22 PM

I do not see Pelosi laughing. As expected, this woman is now confined to lies regaridng her own role in the Zubaydah waterboarding mess and as if on que, the air is being let out of the demands for a ''truth commission'', as demanded by Whitehouse and Leahy. As we earlier explored, the GOP is simply not going to allow the Democrats to get away with partisan grandstanding after the fact and is showing these the price they will pay if they continue traveling down this road.

Sounds like those ex-congress republicans, like McCain, who said "we have them right were we want them" shortly before the November trouncing.

THere is no justification in a Republic like America for any secrecy, about anything except information that would directly expose the identity of any agent of America to the point his or her life would be in danger! Period! Policy, political, process information by definition must be made public so the public can make a decison of whether to proceded or not! The governmnet is us and we can do what is neccessary if we do not what is being done by us for us!!! Being a Congress person must stop being a carreer choice, rather our representatives must be reluctant heros, doing the common good, for a limited time as a civic duty! There are far to many Stevens, Murthas, Waxmans, Bidens, and even Kennedys! A cap on "sevice" for a maximum of 6 years is vital, benefits for "service" need to be ended and only those such as Social Security, Medicare, provided.

  • Posted By: freecitizen @ 05/11/2009 1:25:32 AM

..... and then there was dick Cheney outing a CIA agent who was working to keep REAL nuclear weapons out of terrorist hands. It's against the law too and It's called treason.

  • Posted By: freecitizen @ 05/11/2009 1:19:30 AM

Whether or not torture works is completely irrelavent. IT IS AGAINS'T THE LAW end of story. Remember when YOU insisted Clinton was not above the law and should be impeahed for lying about a blow job?

  • Posted By: thehappyamerican @ 05/10/2009 5:06:19 PM

Obama gave away our (former) secret intentions of a withdraw time table from Iraq, but wont divulge information to the public about the real scope and effect of interrogation, and intelligence gains. Because both topics were used--in different ways-- to ridicule a former administration.
Lieing is like riding a tiger. On it's back you can go a long way, but if you step off, you get eaten!
Obama can't get both feet on the truth in one case or restore confidence in our military plans in the other. Violence has gone up in Iraq threw April and the taliban and didn't stand and fight in Afgahnistan but slipped into another country, now!
As Barny Frank is to finance Obama is to national security and world stability. the audacity of clownmanship!

  • Posted By: freecitizen @ 05/10/2009 1:28:29 PM

The simple fact is that Bush and Cheney disgraced our flag beyond repair, but they only reflected and manipulated the cowardice and need for vengence of our population as a whole. After 9/11 we were SO afraid of our own shadows we were willing to acept ANYTHING they did to "keep us safe". Invade Iraq? Sure. Torture? .....why not. Surrender the US Constitution? Who needs that worthless piece of paper.

As for the motives of our enemies, the history of the world didn't start on 9/11. If you pull you head out of that warm dark place where the sun doesn't shine you'll find that the world has suffered at our hands in many leathal ways in desperate places while we have gone about the task of collecting way more than our share of the world's resources to keep ourselves fat dumb and happy. That is the "our way of life" we kill and die for. We'd be reading about quaint far away things in the Middle East if they hadn't had the bad fortune of being born on top of OUR oil.

We elected Barrack Obama to make ourselves feel better. He is a Madison Avenue wet dream sold to us as if he was redemption itself. Our real shame and guilt made it all possible, but as with all things being sold by the corporate power structure he is mearly a cosmetic make over of the same old deal. There will be no real change under his watch. As a wholey owned subsidiary of Goldman Saches, he will continue to cover the clean get away of the greatest hiest in history. His so called health care plan will continue to mean that every illness you contract will be diagnosed by giant, over priced rectal probe administered by some Wall street controlled profit cente / insurance company.

If these interrogation techniques are viewed as toorture and the Iraqi War as wrong. What do you call what is going on in Afghanistan bombing terrorists homes and villages killing women and children in an effort to killl them. I would rather see these techniques used against known terrorists to gain information instead of killing women and children while targeting their terrorist family members.

  • Posted By: John Dough @ 05/09/2009 10:52:15 AM

This is purely democratic politics at its best. If a dem had followed a dem in the last election this would not be happening.
The oother problem for them is many of them knew and now that they have been caught they are playing the same game they did with the Iraq war vote. They voted for the resolution but not for going to war - it was despite their lies a war resolution and they knew it. The dems new line is they knew of the interrogation methods but did not know they were going to be used. Anyone democrat or republican who believes that is at best in denial and at worst an idiot.
