For the record -- which was pointed out to Newsweek web editors back on the 11th -- photo #16 is not from the mid-70s. The color is too rich for a photo from that era, but most importantly it contains both 25th Anniversary and certain Next Generation memorabilia, the latter of which puts it as 2002 at the earliest.
Wow, way coool dude, I like it!

Oops, sorry qMab, looks like you beat me to the punch, but yes, quite correct. It's a much more recent display than as dated, unless, of course, some sort of temporal incursion brought about the conditions for this photo. That'll teach me to read all the comments before I post.
Ok, let me put on my taped glasses and make a high-nasally-molar-lisped voice:
Um, the number 16 picture was not taken in the mid 70s as there are several Next Generation style com badges, as well as rank insignia from Star Trek II - VI rank insignia pins and other paraphenalia which would place this display in the mid to late 80s.
Ok, back to my regular voice.
Wow, this is amazing!! What a collection! I'm curious about pic #16, though. It's dated as from a "mid-70s" convention, however, in the upper left, the costume hanging there is clearly a TNG-era bridge officer's dress-uniform. Looking more closely, the pins on display include TNG-era communicator badges, and the black t-shirt just right of center depicts Enterprise 1701-D, so the earliest this photo could be is c. 1988-90. If the black book at center foreground is indicative of a "25th Anniversary" celebration album, then that would date the photo as c. or post-1991.
In photo #7, this the Chicago Star Trek convention held over Labor Day weekend in 1975 - the lady in the background is a member of the Dorsai Irregul;ars, hired for that convention to assist with convention security and especially the escort for the guests from the cast. The Dorsai specialized in convention security for science fiction conventions. The entire Dorsai crew wore Klingon costumes and makeup and had a wonderful time menacing people when they were not busy with star escort. Several moms asked the nasty Klingons to scowl and threaten their children so they could get a photo. This was also the convention where this same Klingon gave Leonard Nimoy a beginning lesson in handling a bullwhip.
I think my first attempt went into the ether. In case anyone is trying to identiy people in these photos, in Slide 11 Allan Asherman is the MC of the masquerade, and in Slide 14 Elise Rosenstein is sitting directly in front of George Takei (2nd from left, first row). Both Allan and Elyse were members of the "Committee"-run Star Trek Conventions in New York City.
In Slide 11, that's Allan Asherman on the left hosting the masquerade, and in Slide 14, Elyse Rosenstein is sitting directly in front of George Takei. Just mentioning this in case anyone is trying to identify people in the photos.
