I think President Obama is wrong to block the pictures. His stated reason rings false too. How much more dangerous can a war zone be for our troops? He made a promise, and he's not keeping
it. We have to come clean about this abuse so the rest of the world will believe that this is not
    just more of the same.

    • Posted By: Nails Idiots @ 05/14/2009 11:41:29 AM

Its bullsh*t Norm, these pictures are products of a select few jackasses in uniform. So few in fact it should not even be an issue. Prosecute the guilty, and sequester the evidence for the ahrm it will do IS more then the need to be transparent. Publish the prosecution and the sentence - that will send the same message w/o harming the rest of our troops in anyway. In fact, it will send a message to those that are contemplating the same.

I think it is the first right decision this bozo has made - Pauljb's comments about listening to the left wing fringe is right on - Obamaman is as guilty of the fringe left as Bush was of the fringe Right.

Got to stop this crap -

It is NOT BS, Nails. I don't care if the pictures came from Mickey Mouse, because regardless of where they came
from, they still show abuse of prisoners. No sir, not MY country! America can not stoop that low. Everything we
ever stood for is down the crapper because of this crap. They have to be shown because that is the only way
things will be made right. Do you really think that there will be high level prosecutions without them? If so, then
you're more naive than you once accused me of being. All of this HAS to come out into the light of day or it will
forever be used against us. This prisoner abuse thing is like a slap in the face to me. I did not fight for this
country to have it become despised. We are all Americans here, why can't you see that this is about US, how
WE are perceived. This crap should make all of you ashamed of yourselves and doubly ashamed of our leaders
for allowing it in the first place and then trying to cover it up. NO SIR,
        DAMN IT! NOT MY COUNTRY!

Yeah it is Norm. And the fact remains that Americans are being tortured and mistreated in America. Right now, in nearly all of its prisons and jails. The scathing 2007 Prisons Report by Amnesty International displays a cavalier disregard for American prisoners that are the routine subjects of torture, abuse, medical maltreatment, and worse. It is thus the height of hypocrisy to allow these conditions to go unremarked while standing by an erroneous position that the nation ''return''to an honor it never possessed to begin with regarding these Iraqi prisoners just for starters. You will bear in mind that not one single document or government photo of the 1994 Brach Davidian siege in Waco ,in Texas, in the United States of America, has ever been released.

          Why?

Geez You are just now realizing he broke a promise - the list is over 50 now ten percent of his promises he made while campaigning as a centrist. NOT!!!

This is the kind of issue that needs consideration. I think that it is a very good thing to block the release of these pictures, because they would prove to be inflammatory, but, also, that we must not sweep this issue under the rug, as it should never happen again.

  • Posted By: The"gov"! @ 05/14/2009 2:04:22 PM

I am a patriot republican american and if the supreme court grants the president the power to withhold the release of these photos I support my president, keep it up mr. obama!!!

  • Posted By: saking04 @ 05/14/2009 1:21:59 PM

I know that what was done was wrong, and it may be true that it will only give justification to thoughs who take our aid with one hand and load the gun to kill us with the other... no one ever talks about yes there were many many procedures broken... BUT ... how about when they had female prisonors of war they would rape them repeatedly. Lynch's psychologist have it marked down where it was so bad that she has dissociated her self with entire days but yet as Americans we're suppose to smile while we sweep that under the rug... should they have done it No but its pictures its little things things to embarrce them , they are lucky we don't have the same rules for combat and treatment of POW's as they do ...its not fair when only one side plays by rules.

All such evidence of the misdeeds of the Bush administration should be released so people can clearly see what was done in the name of the American people. If this is embarrassing we need to face up to what we all allowed to happen. It is hard to imagine that our image in the world could be darkened any more than it already has been. Failing to release the photos will likely be seen by those who do not trust us as further evidence of our unwillingness to be honest. Let it all out and then show the world we as a nation will no longer act with such disregard for human rights.

You are an IDIOT - I will give a crap about what the world thinks when the world starts giving a crap about what America Thinks. We suck so bad, I am sick of reading and hearing about it.

Fuxing Americans, first on the scene in every disaster worldwide, 1st to get aid to starving people, 1st to overlook politics (Burma) and try to help where we can, we really suck.

The world thinks we suck, but they keep coming, and coming and coming.
Sucks so bad, but here we are. Let us show you how to fix it so it is like our f'ed up country.

Please just shut up with this bullshit already -

Flip flop, flip flop...not surprising, whatever is a political advantage he will do. Pelosi, obama, whoever on his side, no truth, not solid stance of principals. Simply a liberal agenda to make all dependent on government. Will do and say whatever it takes to get votes. Same old politics we have seen for decades.
You have to love pelosi on this issue. 1. I had no idea about any of this. 2.. I was briefed but did not know it was being used. 3. I knew alot about it, but couldn't say for security reasons.....ummm what? what a liar. typical

    • Posted By: Nails Idiots @ 05/14/2009 1:02:54 PM

Plastic pelosi wrong? Confused? DEMS don't do that, you must be wrong.

What about the IDIOT Harry Reid - nobody is pointing out that jackass, he to Knew!

      thanks - nice post

Second correct decision he has made since being in office - needs to correct the other 500 + though!!!

    • Posted By: Nails Idiots @ 05/14/2009 12:22:01 PM

ok I'll bite - what do you think the first was?

  • Posted By: Qidisrupt @ 05/14/2009 12:46:49 AM

Terrorists are completely familiar with all kinds of torture. How many of you gullible people honestly believe that releasing these pictures could threaten our national security? These forms of torture are NOT deep-dark secrets to terrorists...they probably know more about it than we do!!!! Are there any critical thinking people left??? Some lying piece of crap says it will be a threat...so people believe them??? Book134...you are right on the money; an honest hombre, indeed. Out of respect and because I do like President Obama...President Obama is not going in the right diirection...truth and justice will not be shown going the route of passing the buck. Bush, Cheney, and whoever else was involved KNOWINGLY committed ILLEGAL torture methods; these illegal methods were proven to be ineffective..,.they are lying out their asses to try to cover it up instead of being real men and being truthful and honest.

More of your Stupendously stupid rant about the right - when will you even get the intelligence to see that both parties are as corrupt as each other - you are truly a LUNATIC - Dipstic*K

  • Posted By: book134 @ 05/13/2009 10:26:51 PM

By his actions in recent months, it is now entirely clear that Obama & his Administration is now completely complicit in the thousands of crimes committed or directed by hundreds of officials & their proxies (CIA & military) of the Bush II Administration. These decisions to protect these vile War Criminals will taint his Administration for the duration of his tenure as President. The die is cast & Obama himself, has cast it.

    • Posted By: Qidisrupt @ 05/14/2009 12:52:29 AM

I meant to post that President Obama is heading in the WRONG direction...my mistake.

      • Posted By: Nails Idiots @ 05/14/2009 11:45:58 AM

No your sub conscience knows what is right, it is you who are wrong IDIOT!

  • Posted By: Qidisrupt @ 05/14/2009 2:31:08 AM

slantshot...I am not seeking political dominance...how about abiding by the laws of the land and honesty??? Those are some things I am digging for!!!! We are not blaming Bush and the Republicans...they actually did commit these reprehensible acts...and they repeatedly lied and misled the American people. Blame is when they are accused of something they did not do...Bush and the Republicans actually committed illegal acts.

    • Posted By: Nails Idiots @ 05/14/2009 11:44:42 AM

sounds like you have already had the trial base don what you read in the rags - who made you judge & jury? Typical of your other idiotic posts kumquat!

  • Posted By: clevomon @ 05/14/2009 8:20:19 AM

Torn. I most certainly don't want to have to see them, but the argument for releasing them is at least as strong as the one against.

    • Posted By: Nails Idiots @ 05/14/2009 11:43:47 AM

you feel that way only becasue you are an absolute IDIOT!

  • Posted By: trogers @ 05/13/2009 8:04:43 PM

These photos are red meat for the cable news jackals and should give Fox News and Rush nutrition for days. If a Republican President blocked them it would be a matter of urgent national security. If Obama takes the advice of his generals to block them it will be considered a dastardly breach of trust with the American people.
I want transparency in all things and in all ways, but even someone as liberal as I knows some military matters must remain secret.
Obama promised an open administration and I trust his judgement to open everything that should be opened and keep closed everything that should remain closed. If he and his advisors think these pictures endanger American soldiers; as the commander in chief he is obligated to prohibit publication. If a bunch of rabid journalists think their right to publish the pictures for money and for political reasons: I have to side with the President.

    • Posted By: Nails Idiots @ 05/14/2009 11:42:39 AM

Get over yourself with this right wing left wing shi*t - BHO is finally making a good decision - it is the correct thing to do - read my post response to Norm, fry the scum that did it, publish the trial and the sentence - that is all that is needed.

    • Posted By: John Dough @ 05/14/2009 11:10:19 AM

Obama should have never released the initial information - it is clear now that was for nothing more than political gain by kicking at the republicans in his effort to gain one-party (communist) rule. It backfired though since many of the lying democrats got caught with their memos un-shredded so to speak. To date he is the worst president in history next to Carter. He needs to do a 180 in his policies and thinking.

  • Posted By: Nails Idiots @ 05/14/2009 11:38:00 AM

BIG SURPRISE! The memos blew up in his face, he is not taking that chance again. Can't find a way to blame Bush on this one? He figured out that by not releasing them he gets the same controversy, in effect, deiverting the public's eye from the real issues.

Isn't that what he has been about since taking office? Nothing, I mean nothing has tangibly been accomplished except spend, spend and spend.

Wonder if he will ride the inaugural train with plastic pelosi and the idiot harry reed - you know the high speed train from Vegas to LAX - the one that will cost about $7 Billion - the one this country really needs!

When it is completed he can bash Bush for it too! For spending so much on a useless Edsel!

  • Posted By: Mick in Mesa @ 05/14/2009 10:31:31 AM

What's the point of publishing more pix? We know the crime was done and regrettably up till now only a few low ranking little people were hammered for it.
Go after the high ranking "brass" and sick politicos that authorized the war crimes. Lets spend our time exposing them and leave the pix in the file. We don't need more embarrasing and inflamatory pix published for the DOJ to get the ball rolling. Memo to DOJ - "Gitter done!"

  • Posted By: dyanna27 @ 05/14/2009 6:51:26 AM

Its disrespectful to the prisoners to allow these photos to be made public.

    • Posted By: NormD @ 05/14/2009 7:47:03 AM

I can't care about what the prisoner feel if they are guilty and I should think that any innocent
prisoner would want their plight out in the open so everyone could see what they suffered.
I want our country to set things straight with the world and regain our moral place. Full
disclosure and full owership is the only way to do that. This Administration promised that
and is now backtracking. I don't understand, but I am beginning to regret I voted for him.
