I am Russell A. McNutt's granddaughter and I have quite a comment. In 2007 I believe my grandfather was 92 years old. He, like many 92 year olds, was suffering from dementia and could not physically or mentally withstand answering questions over a telephone that he could not hear, about a time that he could not remember. I have found strong criticism of the validity of the Vassiliev notes used to write this book. I have found that the "facts" from these notes could not be checked for validity and should not be used for "scholarly or journalistic rigor" (http://intelligencenews.wordpress.com/2009/01/24/02-47/). I have reason to seriously doubt that my grandfather, being a structural engineer, would have ever had information of any value to the KGB. I have many other reasons to doubt these allegations, which seem to be a disgusting attempt to cash-in on an exaggerated story, made on assumptions, and played off as historical fact. Furthermore, I am dumbfounded that these authors are allowed to make these allegations about a man, 50+ years after the fact, when he can no longer defend his name. For this reason, I would like to make myself available to these authors. I will be happy to provide my personal contact information upon their request. Thank you!
