FF: You seem to think you and your family have a monopoly on military service and sacrifice. You speak with great authority, as if you know me and my situation. . You have no problem speaking for me or my family. You see, my father [an American] was wounded in WWII. My husband was in Viet Nam. My son was in [yes he volunteered] the Army. My best friend's son was wounded [ hi s left arm is useless] in Iraq. A young woman I work as widowed, with a child. Oh yes, my nephew, Spencer, was killed In Iraq just over three years ago. Please feel free to tell my sister, her husband, his brothers,my mother and myself how it must feel to lose someone you love in war. You are our resident expert on such things. I might add that my German mother, was once the enemy, in Berlin where I was born and her family experienced war first hand by being bombed repeatedly and losing two brothers. She has stories too.. Once again I'm sure you have great empathy. They were just ordinary citizens, like you and I and the Iraqi families who are at the mercy of their government. They had no choice. So, please continue to lecture me on the sacrifices of war.
Do you want to hear that my sister and her family were staunch supporters of their son, the war and Bush? Guess who they voted for in the past election? Because they don't want anyone else to lose a son or daughter to war. Crazy peaceniks as my sister describes them.
What I don't appreciate is Dick Cheney responding "SO" when told that the majority of the American people did not support the war. I know you always need a non biased and credible source for everything. I think that's an easy on to verify, I still believe that he took us there with faulty information. I believe that Spencer's death was unnecessary. He wanted to be a marine biologist and joined the Army to help pay for college. A sweeter, kinder, gentler soul never walked this earth. But then you didn't know him and I did. Since you are the authority on all things Iraqi war, and sacrifice for our country, I'm sure you can justify this to my family. Please tell me again what it is I DON'T know about war and sacrifice. Obviously you and your family are the true patriots while we've been slacking. Thanks for carrying us on your back for so many years. Do you want the details of how Spencer died? Sorry, I'm just not up to it. I didn't really want to go there, but you pushed and pushed.
I' I just think it shows a better command of the English language to be able to express yourself without being so crude. Maybe that's the way your family speaks, who knows or cares. I think I have seen your true colors and you seem like quite the know it all. Nevertheless, thanks for the lecture on patriotism and the war. Now I'm going to go call my sister. You see, she's a little crazy and a lot depressed these days. I should give you her number and you can tell her what a just and noble war this is yourself.
