Thousands of serviceable pacemakers are thrown away or stored each year when cardiac patients die. Is there a way to donate them to global aid programs?

    Why are we always taking care of other countries before our own?
    There are many people here in the US that need aid before sending it off to others.
    Let's have a little compassion for the poor people living down the street instead of sending aid thousands of miles away.
    To be honest, it sickens me!

    have the US /state govt buy them at a discount & recycle them here for those covered under the tax payers funded government health plans - medicare and medicaid

    Why to the third world countries? Why not to patients who have no insurance in the US? or those who can't afford new ones?!!
    IGiving these devices to such countries while we prohibit this in our own contry, does not look right.. it 's like we are looking to the third world as if they were of different class humans..
