I cannot wait for these former NYC Health Commissioners, Dr. Frieden (at the CDC) and Dr. Hamburg (at the FDA), to tackle the use cancer-causing and otherwise harmful additives in manufactured foods. Perhaps then, the cost of healthcare can truly be managed and the pharmaceutical companies, thankfully, see a reduction in clients.

Julie Gerberding reign made clear that the CDC has become a willingly subservient subsidiary of pharmaceutical companies. Tom Frieden's arrogance is likely to enhance this process.

The CDC director is not the nation's so-called top doctor. That unofficial/quasi-official title belongs to the Surgeon General. Thanks.

It is exciting to see someone with Frieden's focus and abilities to lead the CDC.

The CDC is burdened by junk science and an scientifically ignorant media. The directors first step should be to make the news media accountable for any health article. If people follow the advice in a news source, that news source is culpable for malpractice. I'm tired of reading news stories about health, doing a couple minutes research, and finding out that the news journalists summary was all wrong. Sue your news sources now!
