If these Uighurs were so harmless, why did the US shop them to the world to take them in ? Why Not relocate them to USA?
Remember, Taliban and Al Qaeda were friends of USA once too. Now you have rep. Rohrabacher and Delahunt defending the Uighers and their terrorist activities.

Shhot them, then you would only have to move them from their cell to the grave.

    • Posted By: Vigilance @ 07/08/2009 7:19:33 PM

Why not ACTUALLY TRY THEM FIRST?!?!?!

    • Posted By: MiamiMike @ 05/27/2009 2:17:21 PM

Why not take your idea one step further and just build gas chambers, its quicker and it will save you a bullet. You can do a search under NAZI DEATH CAMP for some pointers.

So Obama tried to secretly release 17 captured terrorists into the general U.S. population!? This is an egregious violation of his oath as commander-in-chief. In his zeal to move in the opposite direction of his predecessor, he has put us all at risk, simply in order to appease his heavily funded base. Re-election means everything to this man, just like most politicians. So much for change, just words, and we can only hope none of the other terrorists are successfully released into the wild.

    • Posted By: Braes @ 05/27/2009 11:54:28 AM

That's just it, they aren't terrorists. We have had no reason to hold them other than an indefinite hold on deportation, looking for anyone to take them. We are stuck with all kinds of folks that were haplessly dispersed in an area of responsibility. There are probably more of this classification than actual Qaeda left alive.

If we send them to China, they are dead. We broke it, we own it.

I have a beautiful idea, please the doors of your house to offer santuary to this wonderful down trodden folks who meant no harm to the US.

Your hospitality will be greatly appreciated. but PLEASE DO NOT SHOVE THIS DOWN OUR THROATS.

Goddamn, 400,000 Americans gave their lives against millions of Nazis, and now when it comes to releasing people who haven't even been tried of a crime, people cringe and tremble and beg for help. I never thought I'd see the day.

I swear, too...I have no idea if the poster above me is GOP, but in general, the GOP talks tough and brags about its guns and then when the time comes to make a call based on bravery, they scream about how dangerous these people are and how we have to lock them up forever regardless of their guilt or innocence. I've never seen such a bunch of fair-weather warriors...

      • Posted By: Matthew in Chicago @ 05/27/2009 1:18:54 PM

How can you call them Terrorists???
They have not been accused of any crime. They have not been tried for any crime.
If there is any evidence that these people are a danger to us then that evidence should be presented to a judicial body and if convicted they should be sentenced, and jailed.
Dick Cheney cannot just say that these people are "bad" therefor they should be imprisoned for the rest of their lives. What if tomorrow Dick Cheney says that you are "bad"?

Close Gitmo. The cowardice that Congress and the American people continue to display with this spectacle are nothing less than appalling. Build another damned military prison if you have to - one where the prisoners are treated like humans -, just get that black mark off our foreign policy and our international reputation. A

I FOUND THIS BLOG TO BE VERY INTERSTING AND THE SENTIMENT SEEMS TO BE SPREADING.
I voted for Obama because of Bush's spending (with, of course, Congress' help), McCain's backing for the bailout when Obama seemed to be against it and because Obama promised bi-partisanship. By all measurements, Obama has accomplished more in 100 days than anyone before him...but I question whether these actions are benefits. Here is what he has done: 1. failed to keep his promise to make bills available to the public for 5 days before action is taken on them; 2. Signed a recovery bill that NO-ONE had a chance to read or look at; 3 given me a small tax cut that will turn into a huge tax increase in 3 or so years to pay for non-stimulus programs passed in the still of the night through reconciliation; 4. Failed to move forward on the interrogation issue as promised and choosing, instead, to line up with the Soros crowd and banana republic the last administration; and 5. ignoring the fact that the election is over and campaigning is no longer necessary he has failed to stay in the oval office and oversee that his Washington long-timers are following his presumed directives instead of serving their own long-time established and honored interests. I have long viewed politicians as our only criminal class (there is a reason politicians exempted themselves from application of the RICO statutes) and I chose to believe Obama's claim that he was different...that he was someone to be trusted. I am angry with myself for allowing belief and faith to insert itself when considering voting...Politicians lie; Obama is a politician. And...there is no such thing as a free lunch, as we will all find out in about 4 years. As I said, I cannot fault Obama for his actions...he is as he is. I fault myself for believing.

Once again; let Fonda; ah I mean Pelosi reopen Alcatraz and put them in HER District. Email from my bro in Iraq---Morale is low; that WITCH and this administration has our men and women in combat in 110 degree heat with sand fleas, camel spiders, 30 pounds of gear and lonely as hell feeling DESERTED, alone and forgotten. Anyone see 60 minutes last night. They actually had the HEART to interview the president of Pakistan and showed how incredibly powerful these terrorists are becoming. Oh wait, its Bush's fault and they dont exits. I feel like vomiting

Liquidate them. They would do no less, and have done no less to any Americans they have had in their merciless hands.

Grow a pair!!! Freedom aint free and it sure aint safe, thats why you wing-nuts keep insisting on having your own personal armories. You guys talk tuff but when it comes down to it your s-s-s-s-s scared.

    • Posted By: George Dorn @ 05/28/2009 1:57:37 PM

      This is the correct answer.

  • Posted By: Still Free in the USA @ 05/27/2009 1:12:53 PM

100 yeras from now the liberals who by either Affirmative Action or some Kim Bay Yeah movement of the 60s being resurrected; will still be blaming Bush. Its so much easier to blame than to accept responsiblity; easier to sit on your fat asses and call people racist than work; easier to sleep than get up and attend classes; easier to have test scores lowered and accept the indignation of being "told" by the action that you are less competent; how can you tolerate the insults. At least Bush can tolerate your ignorance. History will play itself out; after 4 generations of welfare DEPENDANTS. how to destroy a nation; leave the pigs at the trough to gorge themselves; hold on hold on; you just started typing that the bankers are the pigs. Go back and grab Clinton; yes CLINTON's deregs.

    • Posted By: basedrum777 @ 05/27/2009 3:02:41 PM

What Congress passed those deregulations? I'm pretty sure it was Newt's...

      • Posted By: George Dorn @ 05/28/2009 1:56:54 PM

Specifically, the deregulations were sponsored by Gramm, Leech, and Bliley. All republicans.

P.S. - "Obama Administration officials were poised in late April to make a bold, stealthy move..." Whatever happened to transparency?

Sorry, Virginia, there is no Santa Claus.

  • Posted By: Lee Holmes @ 05/27/2009 2:32:59 PM

''Why do you call them terrorists? They have not been convicted of any crime''.

The Associated Press May 14,2009:''Pentagon Report: One In Seven Detainees Released Returned To Jihad''.

    Thats enough for two 9/11s.

Give 'em to Chuck Schumers [D-NY] state. They are no problem, after all..............

    • Posted By: basedrum777 @ 05/27/2009 2:59:14 PM

Don't confuse this group with that which attacked us. These people got picked up because of being Muslim but that doesn't make them terrorists. The only reason they weren't immediately released back to where they came was that China (where they came) would kill them for being Uighurs.

      • Posted By: DeeDee12 @ 05/28/2009 12:11:22 PM

It's ridiculous to believe - if you look at a topographical map - that these Uighurs just "happened" to wander into the mountainous and remote Tora Bora area! Most of them were in training for terrorism - several under Haq. They are a danger. The fact that China is their main target does not make them no danger to DC embassies or the China-friendly US Government and trade groups.

  • Posted By: Aditya Mookerjee @ 05/28/2009 12:53:33 AM

What about these people going back to China? I am sure that they can be rehabilitated in their natural homeland.

  • Posted By: Still Free in the USA @ 05/27/2009 1:14:32 PM

Anyone who died on 9/11 get due process; oh I forgot; Bush is responsible for that too. Is there anything that liberals are not cowards about? Do any of you have a set of stones big enought to really deal with something rather than blame and rant about it?

    • Posted By: basedrum777 @ 05/27/2009 3:01:50 PM

Love the idiotic ramblings of conservatives. Show me one Uighur who participated in 9/11.

  • Posted By: metahands2 @ 05/27/2009 2:14:56 PM

lite-bulb moment: let the "brilliants"in congress come up with a viable solution and send the bill to obama to sign

These terrorists should be living in the Oval Office with their leader who is destroying America...

  • Posted By: KennedyReyes @ 05/27/2009 12:04:00 PM

this is what happens when due process is abandoned. Bush and Cheney left this mess for Obama to clean up...
