Very good film. Lee and his cinematographer (Ernest Dickerson) were definitely at the top of their game in the making of this picture. The dialog and visuals in, Lee's films are always good. But in "Do the Right Thing" they're outstanding. I remember seeing it twice during it's initial run and thinking that it would be a shoo-in to win the Best Picture and Best Director awards at the Oscars. Even though it got neither (I don't even think it was nominated!) I still consider it to be among the best dozen or so films of the 1980s.
