The G8 economies are only functioning on life-support. If any of the supporting cables were to be removed they are doomed like the domino. Having more meetings will not resolve the problems but will only give a false impression that the world leaders are solving the problems because not only "there's no magic number that will solve the world's problems" but nobody really know how to solve the problems. We do not even know what caused the problems in the first place, only speculations.

The only reason I can see is the markets have reached a saturation stage with a glut of everything; glut in consumer goods, motor vehicles, housing and office space, credit cards, bank loans, spending (uncontrolled and over-spending), labour force but without the corresponding growth in the provision of new jobs. The number of jobs became stagnant as the emphasis was so much on productivity and without new jobs, the buying power also became stagnant.

For example the situation was such that a person can afford to buy more than one car if he/she earned more money but, he/she would not want to buy more than necessary, thus their expenditure for more cars ended there. However if the market can provide another extra job for a different person and he/she having a substantial income will definitely buy another car.

To create more jobs, the market must have the capital and less debts. Instead of paying back each other's debts, there could be some feasibility of just wrting-off each other's debt, just cancel the equivalent of each other's debts.

Leave it to a NEWSWEAK hack to spin this failure Obamas way.

All bets are off. India and China will not play ball. The brain tumour residing within WAXMAN-MARKEY is this point.
