I've noticed that whether we're talking about getting over child abuse, rape, war crimes, discrimination or a host of other things where one group is people are wounded and another group, who experienced no wounds, looks on, it is always the group who was not the victim who tell the people who were that they have to get over it right now. In many cases, people are told this while they're still bleeding. Get over it they say. That was then, this is now. The trouble is that the ones who say this are lying to themselves and to others. It isn't over. It is better, but it is a long way from being over. Did people really think that the surge in people joining white supremacist groups after Obama's election was an accident? White men are in the minority now, but like Lindsey Graham, they're still demanding that they get all the top jobs and be the ones to govern the rest of us. When white men started governing the rest of us, women and blacks weren't allowed to vote and other minorities had no rights. Today, Hispanic Americans are the fastest growing demographic, African Americans have discovered the power of their votes, women are highly educated and taking their rightful place. We like white men. I'm married to a good one. But they aren't the Lord and master anymore. We need to teach the old, white, Southern men who make up the majority of the Republican party that we aren't afraid of them anymore. Play nicely or go home boys. You don't own the ball anymore.

The GOP's attempts to create hype over this week's confirmation hearings regarding Supreme Court justice nominee Sonia Sotomayor blew up in their face as the GOP's 3 Ring Circus also came to town.

Here comes the Govenorship quitting Ring Mistress Sarah Barracuda from Alaska leading the audience into the circus to watch:

In the Center Ring we have the Hypocri-C-Street Juggling Trio featuring sex scandalous clowns Sen. Ensign, Gov. Sanford, and Fmr Rep. Pickering displaying their skills at bribery & decit, hide-n-seeky poo, and lobbying for your mistress's company...

In the ring to the left, we are treated to the incessant Eco Stimulus Whining Hyenas named Senators Kyl , McCain , and Gov. Perry who simply cannot make up ther minds on whether to improve the quality of life in their home states, or betray their constituents (yet again) by denying them necessary monies for education, health care services, and infrastrucure improvements...

in the ring to the right, we have the Aging Elephant named Pat Buchanan trying to infuse race in this week's confirmation hearings, by highlighting a civil case regarding white firefighters, and trying to compare it to the years of enslavement of African-Americans and the subsequent legacy of racism and segregation which have been lessened by affirmative action, civil rights advancements, and the ever-growing tolerance of diversity in America. The hard fought struggle of Women's Suffrage, the scars of Japanese-American internment camps, and the ongoing discrimination against gay Americans clearly overshadow the unfortunate examples of reverse discrimination against causasian Amercians, and show that our nation still has a long way to go before we can see ourselves as a nation of Americans, one people.

    God Bless America
