I've noticed that whether we're talking about getting over child abuse, rape, war crimes, discrimination or a host of other things where one group is people are wounded and another group, who experienced no wounds, looks on, it is always the group who was not the victim who tell the people who were that they have to get over it right now. In many cases, people are told this while they're still bleeding. Get over it they say. That was then, this is now. The trouble is that the ones who say this are lying to themselves and to others. It isn't over. It is better, but it is a long way from being over. Did people really think that the surge in people joining white supremacist groups after Obama's election was an accident? White men are in the minority now, but like Lindsey Graham, they're still demanding that they get all the top jobs and be the ones to govern the rest of us. When white men started governing the rest of us, women and blacks weren't allowed to vote and other minorities had no rights. Today, Hispanic Americans are the fastest growing demographic, African Americans have discovered the power of their votes, women are highly educated and taking their rightful place. We like white men. I'm married to a good one. But they aren't the Lord and master anymore. We need to teach the old, white, Southern men who make up the majority of the Republican party that we aren't afraid of them anymore. Play nicely or go home boys. You don't own the ball anymore.
