The Obama White House may see political advantage in exposing the 'Birthers.' But they shouldn't discount the dangerous sentiment of the radical rejectionists.

Speaking of wacky conspiracy theories, Rev. Jeremiah Wright believes the government created the AIDS virus as a "means of genocide against people of color."

"Howard Fineman, Sean Hannity, Keith Olbermann and Bill O'Reilly have opposing views, but all of them love America." - bjsassy @ 08/01/2009 1:54:57 PM

Why shouldn't Hannity, O'Reilly et al love America? After all, they're among the group recipients of ill-gotten gains and it is the country that historically provided them every advantage and never legislated boots on their necks to keep them down. So go sing for whatever "God" you worship to "bless America" and pray he listens because the deity I serve absolutely does not condone pledging allegiance to a country whose citizens/gov't treated some of it's own in such a vile evil manner.

This is the thing with *some* of you white Americans (fortunately not all) - just perpetually dumb, selfish and self-centered - understanding next to nothing outside your own country, culture, neighborhood, 'race', faith etc. As a group you've never experienced a fraction of the hell people of color have in this country, yet you're somehow incredulous that others (for good reasons) don't feel the same 'warm and fuzzies'? Pshah! This is not about anger (I'm very blessed, happy and successful) or dwelling on some distant yesterday; it is about honesty and acknowledging the truth of residual negative effects from an ugly past if things are ever to go in a positive direction.

This disconnect is evident in the crap some ignoramuses wrote about the Gates/Crowley incident; it is evident in how *some* white Americans didn't understand what Sotomayor was truly saying via her "wise Latina" comment or what FLOTUS Michelle Obama meant when she said "for the first time in my adult lifetime I'm really proud of my country" . . .as what did *some* whites do?

. . .The usual of indignantly coming out their asses to make inflammatory statements instead of trying to comprehend another POV or asking "What would make this person feel or think this way?" The same old crap continues and I welcome the day minorities are the majority.

We've quite a few friends from Ireland (both Northern and the Republic) and they're more in tune than a lot of white Americans could ever be (well, more could be if they sincerely tried). For a white American to even remotely expect all Americans of color to revere the US flag or recite some pledge of allegiance is ridiculous and self-centered. It is close to demanding every Irish (not Irish American) individual salute the damn Union Jack, stand and sing God Save the Queen, and swear allegiance to the crown and no one will ever catch our Irish friends doing any of those things. Curiously, they've all told me (when the subject comes up with white Americans) that their views are always understood (the British killed and oppressed the Irish for centuries) and they've never been accused of "hate." Imagine that!

"It is obvious that you aren't an American citizen. Are you from the Middle East?" - bjsassy @ 08/01/2009 1:54:57 PM

The "Middle East?" . . .Now there's that good ol' sickening white American xenophobia, jingoism, racism and stereotyping I've grown to know and laugh at.

First President Obama is not an "American citizen" and, now, neither am I. You birthtards never quit!

I'm more American than you could ever dream of being since the Americas are the turf of my indigenous ancestors and, at best, you're a squatter.

And could someone explain just when it was that dishonesty and lying become a part of the meaning of "love?" Truly 'loving' a person, place or thing always begins with the truth yet *some* people are twisted as f*ck and operate under the belief that pretending and sprinkling sugar on shyt somehow makes it smell better.

It's quite easy to believe in some "America the beautiful" fantasy when you're thousands of miles away sitting comfortably in a recliner stuffing your lazy fat asses full of nasty fast food and pounds of grease and sugar. After all, it's not your little girl or boy being smoked and you don't have to see the children dying in another country from bombs and bullets that come out of boxes marked "Property of the US Army".

The vicious attack of September 11th caused many whites to develop a hatred and fear of Muslims. I found it amazing how *some* whites actually seemed to believe the Almighty granted America a higher moral standing and right to fear, hate or dislike Arabs and Muslims - and remain too self-centered to comprehend that others have valid reasons to hate America as the WTC was u]one[/u] instance in comparison to the many many many instances of violence and murder the US has exported throughout the globe for decades.

Now if the statements I make are false then by all means prove them wrong with credible links to back it or leave my name out of your gotdamn comments.

Oh, and, carry on with the tired and cowardly antic of slobbering "you hate America" etc. because you'd rather certain facts remain hidden under the rug or 'wrongs' twisted into 'rights' to justify some "home of the brave" delusions. It means nothing to me and is ineffective as I can neither be fazed nor stopped.
