I like animals, but that is it. I do not love them like some of you. Mr. Vick did his time and paid his debt. Some of you people seem to like elevating animals to the status of humans. They are not our equals and never will be. When the last HUMAN on Earth is fed and taken care of, I will extend my empathy towards animals. You would think Mr. Vick was worse than Adolph Hitler judging by some of the comments here. He killed some dogs. So what. You people can dress your animals up in clothes. You can give the animals human names. You can even talk baby talk to them as if they know what the heck you are talking about. At the end of the day, it is still just a dog.

Michael Vick "did his time" for Federal Racketeering, he served his prison sentence for Federal Racketeering - ONLY. The crimes, the heinous acts and crimes of Animal Cruelty - Michael Vick plead "Not Guilty". The crimes in which, Michael Vick, systematically, prepared, planned, participated and executed, repeatedly, against these animals, was left unpunished in the legal justice system. This is a known public record of fact.
"He did his time, he paid for his crimes" - think again. "We all make mistakes"? - perhaps you will feel differently knowing that children are sporting dog masks to football games mocking the dead victims of his crimes. Laughing - joking - making fun - in support of their great idol with their parents right behind them screaming "To hell with Dogs - we love Vick". If this would not lower your head in shame, then I fear for the monsters this has unleashed in division across this United States in support of this great American hero.
He has not and will not spend a single day behind bars for animal cruelty as his federal charges were for racketeering. And as for remorse, Vick pled NOT GUILTY to animal cruelty charges at his state trial ??? and it was dropped in a plea deal. How can this man be remorseful for his crimes if he does not even believe he was cruel to animals?
I'm not against second chances. I am against rewarding people who commit criminal acts by giving them million-dollar contracts. And that's what the Eagles and the National Football League are doing.

You've got to be joking. The author of this article in my opinion is as sick as Michael Vick to defend such a killer. The type of person that would believe he has changed is the type of person that keeps letting an abuser back into their life to be abused repeatedly believing they will change. People like this don't change. How can anyone be so heartless and disconnected when it comes to the earth's beautiful creatures?
Okay I'll even play the devil's advocate and pretend for a moment that Michael Vick really has found Jesus now and he's a changed man and he suddenly cares about animals. Well if he had done anything even remotely close to what he did to the dogs to a human he would have been put away for several life sentences. Killers usually do not get rehabilitated and usually get worse from prison. Even if a murderer has remorse it never excuses the fact that they broke the law and killed someone. I do not feel the punishment is ever harsh enough for people that kill for any other reason than for food or in self defense.
