Is simple. Fox "News" does a great job in kissing the Right WIng's behind and it's programing reflects it. In turn the Right Wingers that for the most part are more political than the Liberals, reward them with steady, strong ratings. CNBC wanted a peace of the pie, and so far I doing are poor job in taking it from Fox.

Kudlow is sertainly not going to do the job with his outrageous style, and confusing numbers, and incredibly poor record as a business analyst, and prognosticator of economic trends. Even the Right can see trough his constant mistakes.

If CNBC wants to take away viewers from Fox the are going to have to go to the Right of Fox..... And hope their show hosts are not taken away from the set in a straight jacket . After all, to go to the Right of the likes of Glen Beck, and top his derranged behavior would truly demand some Psychopath on LSD as the show anchor.

I personally would recomend CNBC to replace Kudlow's with Sarah Palin . Just look at the possibilities of having her appear every day wearing a mini-mini skirt, and a short wet T-shirt with the legend " WallStreet is HOT" . All she would have to say every day (while crossing, and un-crossing her legs for the camera) is "Obama sucks" .

That's it. Keep the attacks simple, and repetitive, don't pretend you have a brain (that makes the Right wing angry) , and make her flash her panties now and then...... Ratings will go to the roof !!!!!

All of the above. The same reason I don't watch Fox Business. Who wants to listen to politically-biased business analysis? And Rick Santelli. He is a joke. With his angry and anti-Obama, stimulus, etc. rants exacerbated by wrong calls on the market, he can say its Monday when its really Monday and no one will believe him. CNBC is better served by firing all their staff top-to-bottom and re-starting a pure business (non-political) news and analysis.

The ED Show, Hardball, Morning Joe and Mourning Meeting are very much supporters of The Republicans and very radical in their position. Rachel Maddow and Coutdown are very much supporters of The Democrats. USA Today, Nightly News and Meet the Press are more clever and stay almost in the middle, making a high professional job. I think that every program should be able to praise the good things and qualities of a party or politician, but also being free to recognize its flaws as nobody is only perfect. We are looking for an impartial media and it is what is growing up these days.
I know it is not so easy for TED for instance, because, as a Republican, he come up with the anger, and envy Republicans have of Pres. Obama and the Democrats. Unfortunatly Republicans are working against the government and are trying everything to destabilize Pres, Obama plans for the economy and for the American people. I know it is hard to see anything good for the Republicans these days, but certainly they might have something to show up.

You are as dumb as Kudlow pal.

" many people have gotten out of the market and will stay away until some sanity returns to capitalism"

I hate to brake the news to you moron, but the market is up by more than 45% since Obama 's "Socialist" policies were implemented... Maibe you should tune into a financial show (even Kudlow's) and lear something before you put a buch of crap.

Dear God why are Right Wingers so stupid !!!!!!!

It's pretty simple, business channels are pro capitalist and Obama is anti capitalist/socilist. People aren't turning away because CNBC has 'turned right', they are more likely turning away because many people have gotten out of the market and will stay out until some sanity returns and capitalism isn't treated like a cuss word.

This magazine is so far to the left that I wouldn't put any stock in anything they print. Some of the 'controversial' reports that come from CNBC or FOX business. 'Obama says that the stimulus is working but says he's considering another stimulus.' This isn't right wing whack job reporting, it is reporting the hypocracy of a president talking out of both sides of his mouth. Another example, the president says that the recession is over yet the unemployment numbers continue to rise. Again, they are just pointing out hypocracy.

If everybody thinks that just by pointing out hypocracy you are a right wing extremist then our country is in serious trouble.

The answer is simple...IF you have the requirement to watch and miss the channel and end up on Fox (the 'regular' channel) IT'S THE SAME!
CNBC folks have turned almost Republican militant - way worse most of the time even than Larry Kudlow who is a Hannity Clone - much to the dismay of those who happen to think Hannity is a slim bag... CNBC has become opinion television exactly like fox and that NOT what should be coming out of 'financial professionals'...

To have your answer all you have to do is watch Kudlow's show for 5 minutes and see for yourself is the author of this article is exagerating about Kudlow.

Let me give you an example of Kudlow's "Views" here so that you get the picture.

Kudlow. " This Market is a bull market, and wil continue to go up don't you agree Mark' ?
Mark. OH, yes indeed!!! Investors need to get into the action now, or loose money. The Recession is over.

Kudlow (about 1/2 into the program) . Obama's policies are a desaster, and will plunge our country into a debacle. Business simply can't function with his kind of socialism. What do you think Joe ?

    Joe. No doubt about it.

Now I don't know about you, but I can't see how on hearth in the span of a few minutes we can go from a booming market produced by a recovering econmy, and turn that into a financial collapse produced by Obama's socialism .

And I am just giving you (not an exageration) the tamed parts of Kudlow's show. I don't want to even go into the long rants that Kudlow (an ex-alcoholic) has in almost every show to defend his version of Capitalism where there should not be any regulation of Wall Street, where bank executives can make as much money as they can get disregarding their perfomance, where bounuses for these people (if you can call them people) , are in fact small when compared to the size of the market, etc, etc.

Kudlow is an imbecile pure and simple. The fact that he can be employed at all, let alone command a 6 figure salary is a testament to how low our media has sank.

Is it possible that the author of this article tilts to the left and thus sees most anchors as "playing it right down the middle"? While I agree that Fox leans so far to the right they are in the middle of the Atlantic, I don't agree that other mainstream news are objective. The media have had a love-in with Obama since before the election.

Is there any way that CNBC, and Fox can get some real financial news, or is that too much to ask?

The reason these networks are loosing viewers is because the only people interested by financial programs are those that have an interest in financial topics. Instead what they get is a screaming constantly interrupting clown in Kudlow with what has to be the worst financial forecasting record in the history of man kind , and that confuses his Financial show with a GOP infomercial to boot. As a result Kudlow's show is tuned out by investors because the advice is frankly terrible, and he also turns off the nut wing of the GOP because they can get better Obama bashing shows in terms they can understand ( A nut Wing has no idea what Kudlow talks about 1/2 the time). I for one would tune to Fox channel if I was interested in Obama bashing, but when I try to get some info on Economic news, I do expect serious non-partisan data, not an orgy of political Right Wing views with no balance at all.

I think these shows are simply loosing the serious investors, and the type of people that will tune to understand finance, or to re-inforce some investment views. What's left is the usual boring red meat bash Obama types that have no life and would look at Kudlow at 6 PM just to have something to do. Fact is that Kudlow's target audience (The nut WIng of the Republican party) go instead to FOX Channel for their daily dosis of Democrat -Obama attacks.

I tune to other more serious financial programs (all of them with foreign achors) for more un-bias, and serious analysis of the financial and economic situation in the world. I some times watch Kudlow & his repeating list of "guests" (the same ones day after day) just to remind myself why no investor, or trader can ever follow these shows and make any money.

Fox has more and prettier women. Anyone taking financial advice from either station shouldn't be investing anyway. Anyone who would expect a financial channel to lean left shouldn't be investing anyway. These people are television performers. Some of the guests on either channel are interesting but they all have an agenda and it's not in your best interests, it's in theirs. It's only interesting to see how they think, not what they think. I flip back and forth between the 2 channels, if it's raining out or something. I noticed that Fox advertises on CNBC. If I have to watch financial drivel, Fox has more and prettier women. I wouldn't take their advice seriously, neither of them.

I quit watching because I ran out of money following Krammer's advice.

The OBama bashing is what turned me off. Apparently the news anchors at CNBC believe the debacle on Wall Street was a good thing and nothing needs to changed. I mean, these fools were/are a part of the problem. Now that the non regulatory days are coming to an end CNBC is lining up behind the right to head off new regulations that will prevent the few from making more millions while the average American continues to lose. The stock market is becoming a rich man's game and unless you have insider information your chances of making bigger dividends are little or none. I'm looking into the idea of manufacturing a new line of fireproof/theftproof mattresses, one you can safely put your money without the fear of a Kudlow and Company getting their grimy hands on.

When people realize they have done something wrong they usually don't want to have it rubbed in their faces. If you voted for Obama would you want to watch what is happening to the economy? would you want to watch the massive wastes of taxpayer funds or listen to the broken promises? Of course not. Plus a lot of people get rid of their cable when they are struggling to pay their bills on unemployment.

i quit watching cnbc mostlly because of dudlow and kernan runs a close second.nobody pays any attention to santeli which is good

  • Posted By: ub52209 @ 08/05/2009 11:58:09 PM

I watched CNBC every day for many years, but have stopped because of all the tired old Obama bashing. They seem to have been in the pocket of all these fools that have nearly killed the economy. Cramer is beyond a joke...pay attention to him to lose all your money. I only watch when I know a company of mine is reporting earnings...but that is usually biased coverage also.

I have thought about this recently and am glad to see this story. I have watched CNBC almost daily for 10+ years. It's not very good right now. Dylan Ratigan was let go, he was very enjoyable. Rick Santelli lost all credibility after "The Rant' and the weeks of on air pouting that followed. Charlie Gasperino is a joke - absolutely horrid to watch, the other hosts can hardly hide their distaste for him when he is on either. Michelle Caruso-Cabrera sits facing the camera at some bizarre angle like she is a model that can only be photographed from one side. And the left-bashing has just become old and tired to listen to, even for this fiscal conservative. Bottom line, the product they are presenting is not as good as it once was, in my humble opinion.

The author of this article states "...many anchors and reporters play it straight down the middle..." Holy mother of god. WTF is he smoking? Is his head so far up the colorectum of the left that he truly thinks main stream media is centrist? Main stream media is bought and sold by vapid liberals. If he can't see that then he's being paid off too. This guy needs a good *** whooping to knock some sense into his hollow head.

How can an organisation as discredited as CNBC be taken seriously, remember "it's a new economy, the old rules don't apply anymore" Yeah right, and who can stomach Erin Burnett and her Jamie Diamond worship. Ratigan was the best thing on air and they fired him and sent him over to MSNBC. They laughed at Peter Schiff, Max Keiser and Gerald Celente, who's laughing now!

  • Posted By: othoschild @ 08/05/2009 10:45:08 PM

Newsweek will be reading its own obituary long before CNBC ever does... And thank heavens for that.

  • Posted By: Riteaidbob @ 08/05/2009 10:37:16 PM

Better yet...when and IF!!! the media ever comes out of Obaama's COLON and starts reporting the destruction he is doing to this nation you will mearly be DOING YOUR %$#@ing JOB!!!!!!
