Thanks so much for highlighting increased interest by youth in degrees and careers that reflect a both/and perspective on making a living while helping the planet. There are also many people who are interested in finding or creating a career that not only focuses on being "green," but that also recognizes the interconnectedness of environmental protection with human rights, animal protection and issues of culture -- people who are passionate about helping others make choices that do the most good and least harm for people, animals and the planet, both in their daily choices, and in creating positive, restorative systems that support a compassionate, sustainable, just world. That's what the Institute for Humane Education (IHE) does. The Institute for Humane Education (http://humaneeducation.org) offers the only degree of its kind in the U.S.: a distance-learning Master of Education in Humane Education; IHE's M.Ed. is accredited through Cambridge College. IHE also offers a Humane Education Certificate Program, as well as other courses and workshops. It's an amazing program, and I'm a proud graduate.
