Stories of kidnap victims who were taken, and, much later, found again

It seemed like a miracle when Jaycee Lee Duggard, kidnapped by Phillip Garrido almost twenty years ago, walked into a parole office with her captors on Aug. 27.  Duggard had been kept by Garrido, a convicted rapist, and his wife, in a warren of tents in their backyard in Antioch, Calif. Duggard, 29 and pictured bottom right in FBI artist's computer sketch of what she may now look like, has two daughters fathered by Garrido, who are now 11 and 15.

Just yesterday,on my nightly news, was a story of a man who picked up an 11 year old girl who was playing in a neighborhood park, with other children, he told her that"her parents were waiting for her at the Motel, a Days Inn, where he then drove with her to,,a woman, saw the girl going into the motel with this man and called 911, the police were able to get there before the man subjected the child to any harm,,,this is a HUGE remiinder to teach your children the cons of stranger danger,,if it had not been for that alert motorist,,there would be one heart sick family, one missing child, and another,Elizabeth Smart,,as this happened in Ogden Utah....

So many others are kidnapped by a parent and hidden from the other parent. The child is brainwashed into believing the other parent is evil and will suffer for the abusive action of the kidnapper for the rest of their lives. Often the mom kidnapps and, like the rest of the biased legal system, the dad gets little or no assistance. Even if a mom loses custody because she ignores every single order (over a period of 10 years) the legal system (Harris County TX DA in my case) is unwilling to go through the bother of filing criminal charges thus making the search difficult and with practically no recourse even if the kidnapper is found. The sysem has failed my son and many others. See findryanpowell.com

About Shawn Hornbeck - it should be noted that self-proclaimed psychic, Sylvia Brown, went into gruesome detail with his parents when they came to her for help. She told them that Shawn was dead and offered to help look for the body for $700/hour. Well, Shawn wasn't dead. Yet, Montel Williams has her on his show every Wednesday.
